As I was sitting in the living room folding laundry this afternoon my girl came running up to me from her play area: "Mama, can I sit on your lap?" I sat back so she could climb on up and make herself comfortable. It's rare these days that she slows down from playing enough to want to snuggle, so I said "How ya doin baby girl? You ok?" To which I heard words come out of her mouth that made me feel the best I've ever felt as a parent: "Yep, now I'm safe and sound." ♥️🥰😭 I couldn't help but sit with it for a moment as she grabbed my hand, placed it on her chest and draped both of her hands over mine. 💕 My heart is beyond full and there are truly no words for this feeling. I am her protector, her confidant, her best friend...I am her safe space ♥️ I've never been more proud to be anything else in my life. I can only pray that she'll feel this way forever and always, and I plan to do everything in my power to make sure that's the case.
