 okay but like hear me out: 

Julie comes home from school in tears one day - it’s one of those days where she’s missing her mom, and it just gets the best of her. 

She heads straight for the studio so her family doesn’t have to see her.  Luke is the only one there (Alex has gone to see Willie and Reggie is inside talking to Ray.) Luke looks up from his journal - he’s trying to finish the song he and Julie started writing last weekend when she comes in, eyes all red and puffy.  He throws the journal aside and immediately goes to Julie, wrapping her up in a big hug. Both still shocked that she can still feel them. They all keep expecting it to wear off and do their best not to waste every opportunity to hug or high five. 

He pulls her to the couch, bringing her into his side and asking her what’s wrong.  She quietly tells him what’s happening, how she misses her mom, how she wishes she could share this with her, wishes she could introduce the boys to her, oh how she’d love them. And Luke just listens, lets her get it all out. Then he tells her how much it meant to him that she got to meet his parents, how he hopes they know that he’s okay, somewhere out there. 

They sit there on the couch for a while, tucked snugly into each other and don’t notice when Alex and Reggie come back. Reggie immediately moves towards them, but Alex grabs his arm and pulls him outside.  “What did you do that for? Julie needs a hug!”  “I think Luke has it covered. C’mon”
