JCink community update ~

hi everyone! so we weren't sure the best way to approach this situation but we feel that it needs to be addressed from the staff. this is in fact the easiest way for us to post this as discord does have a word limit on their messages and we want to get our message across. however, before we start going into things we just want to stress that some of this may be triggering as it mentions pedophilia, abuse and grooming so please proceed with caution.

we have spent the last few days trying to come up with words to offer in these times but there is no way to sugar coat the nasty things or humans that inhabit this world. with that being said we are going to get straight to the point. over the last week news has spread through the JCink community of a convicted predator and pedophile that has been very active on fellow roleplaying sites. this user has been banned from most major resource sites as well as JCink in a more broad spectrum. we will not go into the fine details here, however if you wish to read of this persons behavior and updates please see the document below as well as the post from ALL THINGS ROLEPLAY. again, please be mindful this is triggering content including pedophilia, abuse and grooming.

before we continue we want to stress one thing. we ask that all members, staff included, refrain from discussing this document in our public server.

with all of that being said we want to address a few things as the staff here. first and foremost we want to say that we continue to try daily to make this a safe place for our members and fellow staff members. this is an inclusive, welcoming, loving and kind community and we take pride in that. with staff members that are not only part of but allies to the LGBTQ+ community, and just plain decent humans, we take events such as the one above very seriously. we will tolerate nothing but respect for your fellow role-players and members of this site. if at ANY time you feel someone is being disrespectful to your or another member we don't want you to feel that you cannot reach out to us, that is what we are here for; that goes for any type of bullying, harassment or plain crude behavior. we want this place to be an escape from the real world, but unfortunately sometimes the evil and darkness from the real world takes advantage of writers that way. it is our job to keep you all and ourselves safe and we take pride in that.

over the past few months this community has grown immensely and we as a staff feel like we are a family, we adore each of you; new and old; and we really hope that you are enjoying your time with us! if at any time there is anything we can do to better the experience or help you, please don't be afraid to approach one of us; again it is what we are here for!

we are going to say this one final time, we ask that the document above not be spoken of in our server as it can be triggering and traumatizing for those who may have interacted with said person. if you wish to speak more on it, the staff is here to offer comforting words and support.
