I forgot how young Billy and Max were when Neil and Susan got together. For ages I've pictured them as knowing eachother for like 2 years at most but actually it's more like almost 5ish years. So, why did Neil want a fresh start when Billy was just about to finish high school? Why would he drag his almost adult son away from his home and friends for a "fresh start"?

The new family, new place idea goes right out the window because they weren't a new family at all.

So why? Why did they move Duffers??

If Billy blames Max but it was actually Billy's fault then what the hell is it? I wonder what could have possibly happened to make Neil take his son from one of the most progressive places at the time and dump him in the middle of nowhere. Hmmm.
