Chreon fic idea that has been living rent free in my head for a while now:

Hanahaki disease, Leon caught it after New York. He refuses to get the surgery done, because his love towards Chris is one of the few positive feelings in his life, and he will cling to that even if it inevitably kills him. (And he won't tell Chris about it, because surely he will turn him down, and he doesn't want Chris to feel guilt over the hanahaki killing him).

(Also sadly ironic, that Leon finally feels hopeful about something in his life, and then that thing turns out to be what is killing him.)

But the thing is, no matter how much Leon researches, he can't find out what kind of flower is growing in his lungs. The irregularly shaped, red-yellow petals don't belong to any flower he has ever seen, and he can't find out anything about them.

Of course, Chris eventually finds out, and he pieces together who the petals are for pretty quickly. Because the petals belong to the Sonnentreppe flowers, and he is one of the only people alive who knows what they look like.

If environmental activists, both soft and hard line, had any courage, they would promote an effort to discourage any tourism to Idaho. This action is insane.

The Idaho Senate approved a bill this week that would permit the state to hire contractors to kill up to 90 percent of Idaho’s wolves with the goal, supporters said, of protecting cattle and other agricultural interests.

“These wolves, there’s too many in the state of Idaho,” State Senator Mark Harris, a Republican, said on the Senate floor before the vote on Wednesday, after telling a story about a “gentleman rancher” whose livelihood was jeopardized when a pack of wolves scared off his cattle.

Idaho’s Wolf Conservation and Management plan calls for the state to maintain a wolf population of at least 150 wolves. At last count, Mr. Harris said, 1,556 wolves were roaming the state.

“They’re destroying ranchers; they’re destroying wildlife,” he said.

The bill would give the state’s Wolf Control Fund an additional $190,000 to hire contractors to kill wolves — on top of $400,000 previously allocated toward killing wolves in Idaho. The bill also would remove a limit on the number of wolves a hunter is permitted to kill.

The Senate approved the bill in a 26-7 vote on Wednesday. The measure now goes to the State House of Representatives. The office of Governor Brad Little, a Republican, declined to say whether he planned to sign the bill. Last year Mr. Little signed another bill boosting funds for the killing of wolves.

Backers of the bill said that wolves also reduce the numbers of deer and elk available to hunters, taking an additional economic toll on the state. Some lawmakers disputed that hiring contractors would drive the wolf population down to just 150, while others referenced the 150 figure as if were the goal.

A while back ago I was explaining Hanahaki to one of my friends who isn't nearly as into aus as i am; he loves rocks and minerals and stuff like that, and suggested a version of the Hanahaki au where instead of coughing up flowers, crystals/rocks start to grow on your skin

He never specified what kind, so for simplicity's sake let's say what grows on you is whatever the person you fell in love with's birthstone is.

Imagine falling for someone, but you're so sure that they would never love you back that these beautiful crystals start to grow on you. They spread across your body over time until you're either fully encased in them and become a lifeless statue, or your love becomes requited and all but the original crystal shatters and fall away- that one crystal there as a permanent reminder of what could have happened

Imagine seeing cemeteries specifically dedicated to people who died to this, they're filled with these beautiful statues that were once people, headstones infront of the platforms the statues were placed on.

Imagine walking down the street and seeing someone with crystals covering one of their arms entirely and feeling a bit of pain for them, hoping they'll get their love and heal
