A good rule of thumb for AI is "would you trust a trained pigeon to do this?"
"We trained a pigeon to recognise cancerous cell clusters and somehow they're really good at it" okay great, that's something that could plausibly be a thing.
"We trained a pigeon to recognise good CV:s and left it in charge of sorting through all our job applications" uh perhaps consider not doing that.

went to an elementaryschool musical production and they started the show with the director saying: "Now there's some very small viewers here today, so just so you know. There will be a scary character later in the show. This is her," and a girl in a kinda scary ghost outfit did a creepy walk across the stage, then stood up straight and did a cheery wave, "but remember, it's just Nina. She's pretending to be scary."
Aaaand i would very much like for horror movies to have that as a little bonus feature you can chose. Let me start a movie with Guillermo del Toro showing me a scary ghost that might jump at me, but don't worry, thats just Doug!

Carving Through the Dark
Chapter: 9/?
Fandom: Citizen Sleeper
Pairing: Lem/Sleeper
Total Words: 29,175
It's date night!!!!!!!!!!!
Chapter preview under the cut:
Well it took a bit of convincing, maybe even some shameless begging, but I finally managed to wrangle Esther into sitting for us again. Turns out Mina wasnât a fan of the temporary sitter I got to replace Sleeper. And while nobody can compare to Sleeper in Minaâs eyes, Estherâs still someone stable in her life. Thatâs not something Iâd easily give up. I pay upfront now of course, an expected contingency after having let Esther down so many times.Â
âItâs nothing personal,â Esther says in the doorway of my unit. I finish counting out payment and place the chits in her outstretched hand.
âI know.â I shoulder my work bag with a polite nod. âI appreciate the second chance. So does Mina.â
Estherâs eyes crinkle with a pitying smile and after pocketing the chits she reaches up to pull her long, graying hair into a low ponytail. She glances inside past me and that familiar shame bubbles up. The unit feels smaller and more worn every time someone looks at it, even if theyâve been here before.
âYouâre a good, young man, Lem,â Esther offers in that doting, matriarchal tone that led me to hire her in the first place. As I step aside to let her in, Mina, whoâs been curled up in the living room all morning, finally looks up from the masterpiece sheâs been drawing on her slate.
âGood morning, little one,â Esther says in her usual calm rasp. âLooks like weâre spending the cycle together.â
Mina, the one bright spot of color amongst her otherwise drab surroundings, grins at Esther from the couch but doesnât hop up to greet her the way she does whenever Sleeper arrives. Instead, she directs her attention to me after a moment.
âAsk Robot, okay?â she says, reminding me of a promise I made at her request last night.
âI will. Iâm sure theyâll be thrilled to visit again soon.â With that, I bid them both goodbye and hit the walkway.

There's a version of the "don't go grocery shopping while hungry" rule specifically for writers where you should never under any circumstances be allowed to touch your draft within 3 hours of reading a really good story. Because sometimes when you read something great your head goes "fuck this is so much better than my stuff I should make that more like THIS instead!" Look at me. That's the devil talking and you should close the document NOW.

like. in Lolita and how it works so masterfully; we spend 300 pages reading about a guy trying to justify his horrific behavior by calling it âforbidden loveâ. unreliable as hell, especially if readers donât question him (âtragic love storyâ my ass). the flowery language and constant defense of predatory actions normalizes said actions, which was Nabokovâs whole point.
Call Me By Your Name, however, is seen from Elioâs point of view. we have to add a bit of context to this one because of the social perception surrounding gay men in the 80âs, and likely how difficult is was to find relationships that were both requited and healthy, and secret. it becomes very clear throughout the film that Oliver is using Elio; and Elio, being young and in the closet and scared, sees his first âsummer romanceâ through a pair of rose colored glasses (especially when looked at through the color grading of the film; sickly sweet, vibrant, beautiful). but he canât tell anyone about his stress, because then heâd have to tell them heâs gay. he canât refuse Oliver, or their relationship might end. he insists his choices are his, but theyâre all made around fear; true consent isnât possible under those circumstances. let alone the fact heâs 17.
Iâve seen this film regarded as a great romance so many times and it irks me. itâs a masterful movie and excellently acted, but I canât help but get the ick every time i hear someone idealize it. so yeah welcome to my barely comprehensible ted talkâ
this may be a hot take but i personally feel that Call Me By Your Name is seen as a romance movie in the same way Lolita is seen as a romance novel

It's mechanical arm talk o'clock. I think they would have a fair amount to discuss in their downtime about maintenance routines and repair, as well as any interesting functions they get from weird tech add-ons!
