BTS snap from a project I finished recently 🐎

This illustration turned cross stitch is inspired by folk art, medieval painting's depictions of horses and Roman mosaics- principally Leeds' own beloved 'wonky wolf' as found in the city museum. Slightly off and disconcerting depictions of animals in examples as listed as above as well as in my beloved bad taxidermy continue as a weirdly large inspiration for all I make.

This particular cross stitch (that I will post completed photos of shortly) will be part of @aireplacestudios 'Let Us See You" exhibition this summer (14th June – 19th July). 🫶🏻
