Once we reached Lachung, it was almost evening. It was the first time I saw snow covering the top of a mountain and before I could take out my phone to click it, it was already covered by fog. My bad 😑 The night at Lachung were freezing, the water was so eff in cold that we could barely touch it. And had to take three blankets to keep the body warm. But I must say, it was so cold and the locals didn't even care about it. They are so used to it. And for people like us living in a place with less than 5℃ was difficult. The place we stayed had no geaser but no, I ain't complaining. All the pain and cold disappeared once we started our journey towards Yumthang. The roads, the snow covered trees. That was an incredible view althrough our journey. I'm not at all morning person, but going to a new place, struggling and waking up at 5AM just to have a glance at the snow clad mountains at Lachung (Gangtok) was on top of the list. Watching the fog playing a game of peek-a-boo with the mountains and snow was worth the struggle. The biting cold at less than 5℃, the water you could hardly touch, the pain, the sound of the river nearby and the heavy blowing wind.
