Momentarily startled Akali stares at the other in stupefied silence before lifting her phone in silent answer. She gives it a little shake, screen facing the other. “It was of-” Akali glances at the screen, noting the fact it hadn’t powered on with an internal wince. “Dead.” She finishes lamely. 

She rubs her neck with her free hand. “I just explored the city a bit.”  Brow furrowing she checks her dead phone as if that will answer anything before looking back up at Evelynn. “Why-” Her tone turns concerned. “Are you ok?”

“Dead? Dead? Did you forget to charge it?!” Evelynn was harsh with her berating of Akali, looking very disappointed all the while. How could she forget to charge her phone? It was so simple!

“Am I okay?! I was worried sick! Don’t you remember what happened to-” And like that, Evelynn was snapped back to reality. She wasn’t her mother, but goodness was she mimicking her exactly. Evelynn took a breath and gently rubbed her forehead.

“Sorry, you’re an adult. You have every right to do what you want. I was just-” Evelynn staggered out a breath, shaking her head. “I was worried. Just be more careful about keeping your phone charged, okay?”

Ahri: “I'm the bigger top!”

Akali: “No, I'm the bigger top!”

Evelynn: Currently holding up a sign that says “free puss smashing here.”

“I see my fellow band mates are arguing over who's more of a top.”

A pause.

“I might finally be able to get spitroasted...”

Evelynn’s foot was tapping out of frustration while waiting for Akali’s return. Sure, she was courteous enough to leave a not, but she didn’t even reply to Evelynn’s “have a good time” text. Akali always responded to those texts!

Then the lock and knob turned, and Evelynn immediately rushed the door.

“Where have you been? Did you bring your phone? Did you get my texts? Why didn’t you respond?” A flurry of questions. All of which were much like ones Evelynn’s mother used to ask her in these situations.

Boredom and insomnia had dragged her from the nice warm home early in the morning and pulled her into the city beyond. An exploration that had wasted away her free morning. Akali is only just returning, her hand pulling her phone from her pocket for the first time since shes left. Only to find it off, with a soft curse she turns it on just as she turns the key and walks into the room. It should be fine, she left a note… 

She thinks. Pushing the door open she looks around for someone else. “I’m home-”
