Right now, I lost my job and have been having a difficult time making ends meet. There is so much going on right now, and I know there's a lot of suffering in the world. I need help, too. I have very bad, diagnosed CPTSD that makes job hunting extremely difficult, and even harder to feel safe in a new environment. I'm doing my best, but I've already missed an opportunity because of my symptoms! I have to do something to help myself.

I'm going to be real with y'all, I have a whole rant about my disdain for vocal training stuff. But at the end of the day I'm extremely disheartened by the current state of trans vocal stuff.

Like I get the people have to make money, but after a certain point knowing the state of affairs for most trans people, yeah I think the price of lessons is way outside a lot of our budgets. Even if it is a "fair price" it's relative, most of us are broke, most of us are living with other people. Most of us therefore will be forced to be miserable to some degree or stumble through online tutorials that are the dullest thing ever and battle with internal demons due to our raw deal and still have trouble making progress. No one is truly doing any of us any favors.

Vocal lessons are a luxury for those who's insurance covers it, or those who have the means. I don't have 200+ every other week. Most of us don't. We already have 7 other things we are desperate to take care of.

And I know that some of the people out there doing these things mean well and want to help and maybe they are charging what is fair and reasonable for their work. Maybe that is in fact the value of their work maybe it's even being undervalued. But that doesn't matter. None of that matters.

We're all just fending for ourselves. That's all there is to it. I've never been more consistently disheartened.
