Here's more about her courageous son: 14 times Sergeant First Class Kris Domeij deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan with the 75th Ranger Regiment. 14 times he went into harm’s way, fully knowing the hazards of his chosen profession, for his country, his family, and the men on his left and right. The legacy he left behind is a telling tribute to his upbringing, dedication, the 75th Ranger Regiment, and the nation. Four years ago, America lost Sergeant First Class Kris Domeij, a true American hero who was in Afghanistan on his 14th combat deployment with the 75th Ranger Regiment "While my arms will never hug my son again this side of heaven, I’m so thankful for every man or woman who returns from war, especially my son’s Ranger brothers-in-arms. (RLTW!) And the only time the pain of Kristoffer’s death doesn’t hurt? When I’m in the presence of an Army Ranger or hugging Kristoffer’s children or listening to individuals who tell me about my son, who knew my adult son like I’ll never know him. Contrary to what many battle buddies may fear, talking about my son does not trigger pain. Rather hearing stories about him reclaims some of my loss, bringing him back to life. Cory decided to run 565 miles from Columbus, GA to Indianapolis, In. with the goal in mind to hold his baby girl in his arms!
