Summary:

Ned the Pie Maker has a gift: one touch from him brings the dead to life. However, Ned's gift has strings: a second touch, and Death comes to collect. This time for good.

Chuck, the girl Ned loved and lost, then lost again, has already received Ned's gift, and now they're forced to love each other from a distance.

Dean and Cas are on a hunt. The fact that it's in the same town as the 5-Stars-on-Yelp Pie Hole bakery is just the icing on the cake—or, as Dean would say, the ice cream on the pie.

With a ghostly horse on the rampage, can they all work together and solve the case?

What a delight this story was to work on!

I had not watched Pushing Daisies before claiming this fic for the CasDean Crossover Bang, but it's been on my "to watch" list for many years. I'm a huge fan of some of Bryan Fuller's other work (espeically Dead Like Me) and I love Lee Pace thanks to Foundation and Halt and Catch Fire, so I thought, "Hey, great excuse to start a new binge!"

And I'm so glad I did. While the story was fun to read in its early draft form as just an SPN fan, it was an extra-special treat once I'd watched the show and could appreciate just how well dewey captured the whimsy and characters of PD as well. I know y'all will enjoy the story like I did, whether you're familiar with the crossover universe or not.

For my first main piece, I couldn't resist showing Olive being flirty with Cas when they first visit the Pie Hole:

PD has such a vibrant color scheme that I really had to push to try to get it captured in watercolor - a reason I chose to use super-smooth/hot press paper so the colors wouldn't "sink in", even if I couldn't get the brush strokes as smooth as I normally do.

I'm going to put my second piece behind a spoiler cut—just because, if you know Pushing Daisies, it's a little bit of a spoiler for things that I'm sure many fans hoped would happen some day! But again as a Lee Pace fan, I just had to try my hand at drawing & painting him, and I really like how this one came out...

Hello hello all! It feels like forever since I've done an art masterpost - though rest assured there's a lot more art in the pipeline, I've just been busy with travel, working/prepping for convention season, and organizing bangs behind the scenes. But I'm back right now with my art for this year's round of the @reversefantasyspnbang and the wonderful story @samanddean76 wrote inspired by it.

Because of content (nudity from the side) I'm putting the main art behind a cut...

Giving credit where credit's due, my inspiration/pose for this piece was a drawing by Roberto Ferri featured in the catalog from his Introspettiva exhibition.

It definitely screamed Destiel to me (even if the winged model was originally more feminine-bodied) but I wanted to also give it both a classical and other-worldly look.

I'm absolutely delighted by the story @samanddean76 was inspired to write to go with it and I hope you enjoy it as well!

Forgive me looking like a hot mess (this was right after a VERY busy Friday morning) but Steven was SO WONDERFUL and appreciative of the art I had to get a photo with him (and the painting). I'm glad I had a print to give him and this is going to have a prime spot on my SPN autograph wall. <3
