Okay, so about the last ask, yes, that does sound like sound like a form of dissociation, but from our current understanding of how systems function and the theory of structural dissociation, you're not gonna give yourself DID by doing this or something. I don't think that's what they were trying to say, but I did want to still throw that out there.

If you find this kind of thing helpful, the pretending to be someone else, I really recommend looking into Internal Family Systems. No Bad Parts by Richard C. Schwartz is a good starting point.

I don't wanna accidentally get you caught up in any discourse or anything like that, but I did wanna at least through it out there for you. If you look into it and find any anything about systems helpful or relatable in any capacity, more power to you, welcome in, but you're not gonna give yourself DID by doing this.

(You don't have to answer this publicly if you don't want to because it could rile up some of the endogenic/traumagenic discourse, and I don't want you caught up in that because it can get nasty. But genuinely, from our current understanding of DID, it's a developmental truama disorder. So either you have it from a young age, or you don't have it. You cannot give yourself DID as an adult. Endogenic systems, I believe to experience systemhood and if you feel that helps, then fantastic! I'm happy for you. If you ever want to know more about OSDD/DID, feel free to reach out. Hay, as a DID system, that sounds like deliberate dissociation/depersonalization. If you want to cope like that, you're allowed to, just be careful :)
