So I'm seeing a bunch of posts around these days suspiciously trying to tie shows being cancelled to the recent rise in piracy due to the uptick in streaming costs.

So I thought I'd remind everyone if the time Olan Rogers was forced to pirate the third season of Final Space because Warner Brothers had cancelled and memory holed it as a tax write off. A show HE CREATED.

That was back in 2022, before the hikes, before the mass wave of streaming sub losses. Don't let people fool you, it's not piracy that's killing your favorite shows. It's corps doing the same bullshit they always do.

Some small details for a character learning sword fighting for the first time:

- sore wrists

- blisters on hands

- every movement opens you up to be hit

- they will hit the tops of their arm and own sides with the sword while learning

- there is a primal sixth sense when you know you’re being toyed with

And, for your typically nonviolent characters.

You don’t aim for the swords. You aim for the person holding the sword.

It sounds so obvious but needs to be accepted. Actively. When holding a sword you have to understand you’re attacking another person. Even to block you have to aim your blocks at the other person or they won’t be strong enough to actually protect yourself.

Hello? Hello is the radio working??? *Radio static* oh I see it is working just great!!! Hello your highness Pepper!! I'd like to interview you a little if ya won't mind!! Haven't heard much news in your side of the underground!

How has these castle walls been for you? Ain't it a bit lonely up in a big place like this?

-*audio cuts off* *Radio static* *

Pepper: hm? That was... strange... Well, yes, sometimes it is lonely, but I often have some company visit. Oh, speaking of which, Hazel just came by.

Hazel: Oh, whoops. You in the middle of something?

Pepoer: Oh, don't worry. Just answering a question from this strange radio.

Hazel: ... ok? Well, Me and some of the others just popped in for a quick visit.

Pepper: oh, who's here?

Grillby: Quite a few of us actually. We thought it'd be nice to come together after what had just happened.

Grett: yeah, shit was wild. I still got wounds from when that crazy girl shot me!

Marcus: yeah well guess you just couldn't take a hit!

Grett: says the guy who lost to her too!

Marcus: says the one who puts pot leafs in their brownies!

Grillby: alright, alright, that's enough of that.

Dep: Yeah, we came here to have fun, not argue.

Hazel: speaking of which, what now?

Dep: oh, we could go to that one resturaunt!

Hazel: you mean the one Cali and you got together in

Dep: H-how did-

Cali: She was watching us on our first date.

Dep: Huh???

Cali: yeah, I thought you knew?

Dep: no I did not know! Well, I guess it's sweet that she was looking out for me.

Hazel: well, guess we got our agenda then. Pepper, did you wanna join us?

Grillby: you mean queen Pepper.

Pepper: oh, it's fine, and yes. I'd love to join in. ... And, radio, I guess that answers that question. Sometimes it's lonely, but sometimes... It's amazing.

Hazel: heh, you know, after the whole Michelle thing, it kinda feels like the end of an era.

Cali: no kidding. It's like a whole adventure just came to an end.

Dep: like we're saying bye to a story.

Grillby: yes, well... I'm sure there will be many more in the futre.

Grett: God all this philosophical stuff's boring, let's just go already.

Hazel: yeah, yeah. Well then, let's go. To the futre....

(For the characters that weren't here, Topaz was in waterfall chilling, Leo was with the riverperson[the two had a parent child relationship that wasnt explored], Tabitha was... bejng Tabitha, Salt was unaware of the events, and florey was... observing.)

So, if you've been here for a bit, you've probably realized what I'm about to say.

Main announcement

Humamtale is officially done.

This isn't because I got too busy or that something bad happened, it's simply due to a lack of passion on my part leading to me putting it off for too long.

Lesson learned

Humantale was very fun to make at first, but I set myself a bunch of unrealistic expectations that ultimately wasnt acheivable. This series worked as a huge learning tool for me, and I'll use what I learned for whatever my next functional webseries is, whenever that may be.

Unfinished arc

Since we were in the middle of an arc when I left, I may as well not leave the ending completely unfinisbed, so here's the gist of it:

Grett and Michelle would continue fighting for a little bit, Michelle eventually winning. She then uses a small device she was showed making to syphen some of Grett's purple soul, gaining it's defensive properties. Michelle would then use the blueprints she stole from cali way back when to build herself a mech suit, infusing some of grett's soul energy into it to make it more durable.

However, due to Grett's soul being tampered (a plotline that wasnt yet explored), Michelle's own soul was corrupted by the suit, making her start to go insane, causing her to violently head towards aphis from her hidden shack in snowdin.

Along the way, Marcus would try and fail to stop Michelle, prompting the Hazel to step in, using her magic to teleport herself to everyine relaying the information of Michelle's rampage. Grillby, who had been taking care of a tired Grett steps in (because nobody messes with his partner) and Cali suits aphis up with an upgraded body (which would be the equivalent to mtt neo).

Michelle makes her way tot he core where Grillby and Aphis meet up with her, having a big fight. The fight concludes with Michelle being defeated and her suit being destroyed, her sanity recovering and Grett's soul energy returning. Michelle is then imprisoned, ending that arc.

Futre of Humantale (this is the big one)

While it's very possible that I make a full timeline of Humantale's story, unseen arcs and characters and all, I cannot promise that, but as I also don't want these characters to comoletely fade, the entirety of my humantale au is FREE USE by the community. Any stories or AUs you'd want to use them in are A-ok. My main timeline will still be "cannon" if it ever comes out, but as it is now, the best thing to do is leave these characters in your hands.

My futre

Well, I don't want to stay 100% out of the webseries world, but I wont be doing so for a while. Besides, I got a certain project full of hijinx I'm going to be focusing on first. Humantale will still exist here, but I'm going to be revamping this tumblr to basically be my artist shitpost with a pinned link to the humantale masterpost.

And, well, that's it for now. This isn't goodbye, but it is somewhat the end of Humantale. But, if you follow me, there might be one last goodbye from the characters ; )
