This is the revised model sheet of my OC, Madeira.

I made this by hand, because I wanted to optimize the aspects of Madeira’s character design that are challenging to draw and animate in all angles.

This is why her ears and hair are now infused together, and her sports bra has been modified, to make more challenging angles less difficult.

Treasured possession: A necklace in the shape of a crystallized rose that contains a picture of a man and woman. Madeira has had this necklace ever since she was a baby. Madeira believes the two in this picture are her father and mother. Madeira lived her life in an orphanage in Sandshine City on the planet Centino. She was raised by her foster mother Audenzia. Madeira’s biological father and mother were never found, and no evidence of their existence has been uncovered on the planet Centino.

Madeira is a character who takes on whatever gets in her way. This aspect of her personality is a result of the fact she was born without arms. Madeira is the 13th Cosmos Deity, a being that can only be born on the planet Liberita. A Cosmos Deity can fully use the power of Starlight Hair, a cosmic power that contains itself in hair. Every Cosmos Deity is bound by the Cosmic Prophecy, a set of absolution infused with the powers of Azathoth, Yog-Sothoth and Shub-Niggurath. One of the absolution of the Cosmic Prophecy is as follows:

All Cosmos Deities will be born with a flaw that stops them from being a perfect being. This flaw can be any disease, mental condition, disfigurement, birth defect, disability or cognitive issue. This flaw permanently cripples a Cosmos Deity’s capabilities.

Being born without arms was influential in forming Madeira’s life philosophy and outlook. She lived her life in an orphanage that provided a happy life to its inhabitants. It’s owner Audenzia faced constant financial troubles with the orphanage. These troubles prevented her from affording bionic arms for Madeira. Until she was three years old, Madeira didn’t know that she could use her hair to makeshift an infinite amount of hair arms.

These hair arms are only usable for basic essential motor tasks and instantly fade when used for complex motor tasks and heavy objects.

Madeira became an acrobat to develop the strength and stamina of her legs, the set of limbs she depends on. She was trained by the Students of Jumpman, a group of bharals who can jump high into the air and land on the ground without injury. The best students can fall from 30,000 feet and land on the ground without a scratch.

Madeira became a student when she was three years old and upon becoming an adult, was one of the best students. She developed legs of steel, high jumping prowess and a fit and voluptuous body. Madeira is an anthropomorphic animal because she is intended to be a fantastical character. Her character design blends the anatomy of the human body with the stylized attributes of anime and anthropomorphic animals.

Madeira is a kind and gentle woman at heart. But she is someone with strength as a result of developing her leg muscles and jumping prowess since she was three years old. The appeal of Madeira that makes her compelling is that her greatest flaw is a reality that constantly conflicts with her life.

But this flaw is how Madeira grows beyond her limitations because she learns how to live with it. As a child, Madeira hated being born without arms and living in circumstances that prevented her from getting bionic arms. As an adult, Madeira knows she wouldn’t be where she is if she didn’t come to terms with the reality that always rested on her shoulders.

This is the 20th illustration of Madeira. I'm happy with how the background ended up coming together in the end. Try as I might, it ends up taking so long to get the character pose right, that I just stop caring about the background after a certain point.

This is an illustration of Madeira. Still shocked that thanks to Grayscale Shading paired with Gradient Maps, I was able to make this in one day. Still need to get better at making background art though.

This is a drawing of an art request. A user on the internet gave me an art request and they wanted me to draw a 10-year-old girl wearing a zipper sports bra, a knee-length boxing skirt with leggings underneath, frilly socks, boxing boots, and fingerless MMA gloves jogging happily with Madeira. They wanted Madeira to have arms, and that is why in this illustration, Madeira has arms.

This is an illustration of Madeira. Her hair by accident ended up having more darker shades of silver. I got confused on what order of shades to use. Usually by the time I get the pose, face and shading for the character right, all my energy for drawing a full on background is checked out. I still have yet to solve how to add full background shading matching the same shading approach I do with the characters I draw, without burning out.

This is the 2nd fan art of Jennifer from the Disgaea games. I managed to draw a nose this time, lol. Also made the hair more on model this time. I have yet to solve how to add lineless line art to my grayscale shading process, without it being a tedious disorganized mess.
