With Haverfest around the corner, you already know what time it is: we’ll be holding Capture the Flag on 05/03, from 2-4 PM on Featherbed Field — not Walton as the posters erroneously say. We’ll play rounds of CTF classic on teams and have free-for-all foam weapon fights because there’s no way to round off a year like smacking your friends silly with pool noodles. Show up on time to hear the rules and claim your choice of weapon.

The day before (05/02), we’ll be holding a Foam Weapons Workshop from 4-9 PM in Zubrow Commons in the KINSC— not at the house as the initial Haverfest announcement erroneously says. Come and craft a weapon out of PVC pipe, pool noodles, and duct tape. If you can’t make it to the workshop, don’t worry— we’ll bring extra weapons for those who didn’t get the chance to make their own.

Join us this Saturday at 8 at Nerd House (just north of the second blue bus stop) to kick off this year's Scavenger Hunt!!! Form teams of friends - or be assigned to a group of random event-goers - by filling out the Google Form below to solve a loop of puzzles stationed across Haverford's campus! The hunt starts promptly at 8:30 - late arrivals will not be able to participate, but as always we will have other vehicles of fun in board games and other activities within the house for all. Each team will go charging off and get as far as they can in our string of riddles, then reconvene at Nerd House at 11:00 for the electric finale of the Scavenger Hunt.

Hello Stationery Implements and Minerals of the Bi-Co!

We invite you to join our legendary battle to determine once and for all which is the greatest between the embattled factions of Rock, Paper, and Scissors!

Rock vs. Paper. vs. Scissors is a week-long game of tag played across the entire bi-co, this semester's take on Humans vs. Zombies. On Monday every player will be split between three teams: Rock, Paper, and Scissors. Members of each team will be able to tag members of the team they beat in Rock Paper Scissors and when people are tagged they join the team that tagged them. The biggest team at the end of the week wins!

If you are interested, join the Discord server here: https://discord.gg/vHjZ4wJ3FM where you can read the rules and join the game. That server will be the home for all things RvPvS. Additionally you will need a bandana to indicate your team which you can pick up by visiting Nerd House or one of our DC tabling sessions over the next few days.

Hello, nerdlings!

You've joined us for our Unraveled Night - now get ready to reravel with us this Saturday, April 5th, at YARNS AT YARNALL! (close enough, welcome back Penelope.) Weave together both words and wefts at this night of storytelling, poetry recitation, and fiber arts of every kind.

At this event, we will be providing materials and instructions for every manner of craft type, although feel free to bring your own! Whether you're swapping knitting tips and embroidery strategies with other longtime fiber arts enthusiasts, or learning the craft for the very first time, you'll find something that suits your experience level.

For storytellers, please come to the event with a tale prepared that takes five minutes or less in the telling. This story can be whatever your heart desires - true, fictional, or somewhere in-between! (We do ask that storytellers keep to light-hearted topics to preserve everyone's ability to participate in the event.) Stories will be told in the Common Room throughout the night.

For all you poets in the crowd, submit a poem anonymously to the below Google Form at any point before noon on Saturday. We've provided a few prompts, but by no means do you need to adhere to them! They're only for getting the creative juices flowing should you find yourself stuck. At the event, guests will volunteer to perform a random poem from this anonymous collection!

It was our pleasure to invite you to attend a long-anticipated seance hosted here at the haunted Lively Manor house, but as the ghostly commune unravelled the line between life and beyond, it appears another soul was stolen! But why? And how? As darkened parlours cross and blur the lines of spectre and sceptic, one thing shines through clearly: not everyone is who they seem to be.

Join us for a Murder at the Seance this Saturday, March 29, from 8 PM to midnight. You will assume the roles of various characters as you investigate the mystery and try to discover the culprit. Any manner of cosplay or dressing sharply for the occasion is welcomed, but not required.

Unraveled was a series by Brian David Gilbert (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLaDrN74SfdT7Ueqtwn_bXo1MuSWT0ji2w) in which he gives short comedy presentations on incredibly niche topics on Forbidden Knowledge that Man Was Not Meant to Know. In the spirit, we welcome anyone who would like to give a short, 6-12 minute presentation on any topic: the more niche and unhinged, the better. In PowerPoint Karaoke, give an improvised presentation based on slides you’ve never seen before.

Super Smash Tournament- 10/7/17!

Welcome back to the Nerd House tumblr, my friends...it’s been a long time, but we’re thrilled to be back with you, bringing you all the new and exciting events for the Fall 2017 semester. You can look forward to a lot more activity on this blog very soon.

In terms of this week, it's time once again for our semesterly Smash 4 tournament!  Come to the DC basement at 8:00 PM on Saturday October 7th to take on your favorite Nintendo characters for a chance to win prizes!   As per tradition will be having a casual and hard core bracket, each with double elimination!

Hey, nerdlings, 

It’s time for this semster’s Murder Mystery party! This semester’s party has a Medieval theme, so break out your robes, breeches, and funny hats! We highly recommend costumes for the best experience, but don’t worry if you don’t have anything period-appropriate. Since there’s a lot of things happening on capmus on Saturday, February 27th, we’ll be officially starting the game at 9:00pm, so more people can come! These games are more fun if you can stay the entire time, so make sure you don’t have conflicting engagments! We will, as always, have snacks, books, and games for those who don’t want to participate.

We’re hosting a V-day party for both singles and significant others! Come over and eat sweet things, do crafts, watch something gushy, and play some games! We’re going to be trying some new things this year, like having a drinking game with hot cocoa while we watch rom coms, and dip EVERYTHING in chocolate with our edible arrangements station. We’ll also be bringing back the Newlywed game, so come with a friend or partner!
