Amaru loved horror. He tended to jump pretty badly during some of the scares but he liked the feel of his adrenaline pumping. Even the slowburn psychological horrors were fun for him because he spent so much time on the edge of his seat. He had watched Ju-On when he was too young probably but it was a classic for a reason.

"I'm just thinking!" Amaru said. "They're all good choices." He was half wondering if he could turn and hide his face in Seungho's shoulder for some of the scarier picks he had lined up. Or maybe even for the not scarier ones...a little cuddling didn't sound so bad to Amaru.

"I think Noroi is a good way to start out." He said out loud as he scrolled through the list to pick that one out. Amaru was familiar with it but he'd not yet seen the whole thing. So he figured that would be the best way to start their little date.

Seungho glanced at the menu on the TV screen, a small, satisfied smirk tugging at his lips. He'd curated the lineup with care; Ju-On, Noroi, Pulse, and some others Amaru can choose from. All top-tier or indie and critically acclaimed Japanese horror flicks, and, but he was trying to hard to impress and test. He said he loved horror movies but Seungho was being stubborn and doubted Amaru. He was secretly hoping he was wrong though, it's hard to find chill fans of the genre.

The living room was casually staged, lights dimmed to the edge of spooky but not total darkness, popcorn still warm, and the couch blanket 'coincidentally' unfolded just enough to invite sharing. Not that Seungho was making a move, no not at all... at least, not an obvious one. He just figured if a few jump scares nudged Amaru a little closer, he wasn't going to complain.

He ran a hand through his hair and sat back, eyes flicking to the clock. "Let's see how brave you really are, Amaru. You wanna pick the movie, or you're gonna' chicken out now?" He teased, taking a handful of the popcorn and filling his mouth.

Amaru threaded his way down the slope relatively sure of his movements. He wasn't really, he'd never skiied before in his life but he figured if he faked it til he made it that would be halfway to where he needed to be. The only problem was trying to figure out how to control his speed, he had absolutely no idea how to do that.

However, he did manage to successfully stop at the bottom of the slope, probably the most important part of skiing. The stopping part. Chaeyeon had in fact gone after him, judging by the way she slid to a stop next to him a few seconds after Amaru managed it.

"I told you it wasn't so bad!" He said with a grin. "And I told you that I wouldn't fall either." Probably more luck than skill. But why would he admit that out loud when he could pretend it was purely his own skill that kept him standing upright?

Chaeyeon blinked. "Yah—! You're really just gonna take off like that?!" she called out after Amaru, seeing him disappear down the slope like an overconfident puppy on ice. She wobbled a bit in place, adjusting her stance with all the awkward grace of someone trying to look cool but very obviously panicking on the inside. "Okay... I can do this. It’s just snow. Just a slope." She huffed and pushed off, her arms flailing a little as she picked up speed.

"Waaaah—!" she shrieked, knees bending instinctively to avoid a complete wipeout. She wasn’t going fast fast, but to her, it felt like warp speed. “Amaru-yaaa! Wait for me!” she yelled after him, half-laughing, half-screaming.

Ahead, she could see Amaru getting smaller, but not that much smaller. Somehow, she managed to stay upright, barreling forward with more momentum than control and slides next to him at the bottom. "Oka...! That wasn't too bad!"

Amaru shrugged. "I mean...it's snow right? It shouldn't hurt too bad." He knew there was a chance of him wiping out. But he figured that he knew how he was supposed to fall. And it was one of the easiest slopes. He'd be fine, he was sure of it. "I won't even fall anyway. I only fell once with the helmet anyway."

He laughed. "Okay, okay. You're proportional." He said. "You're right, I'm wrong, I'm clearly just a freak giant." He put his hands up in mock surrender. "I've never even skiied before today."

He nodded again when she asked if he really had done the slope twice. "Yeah, it's not so hard! I wouldn't have even fallen the first time if i hadn't drifted a little too far off center." He had figured out if he stayed towards the middle of the slope it wasn't too hard to keep himself on track and not fall. "Alright. Alright let's go then." He positioned himself. "One...two...three..." And then he took off without really paying attention to see if Chaeyeon had gone with him.

Chaeyeon lets out an exaggerated gasp, "Amaru! That’s like saying, 'Oops, I left my parachute on the ground' before skydiving!" She shakes her head, "Unbelievable. What if you wipe out? What if you hit your head?"

She huffs, crossing her arms. “And I am very proportionally sized, I just wasn't built for extreme sports, I was built for cozy cafés and cute outfits.”

Her eyes narrow suspiciously at his easy confidence, then at the steep incline ahead of them. "You’ve done this slope twice? That makes me feel better, but still..." Then her pout softens gradually—she lets out a deep sigh, turning to face her fate. “Alright, fine. We go on three." She pauses. "Or, like… three-ish."

At the top of the slope the drop looked far more intimidating than it had at the bottom. But Amaru had tried this slope several times and the rush when he got to the bottom was worth the build up. This was one of the easiest slopes (other than the bunny slope) at the resort. So realistically there wasn't too high of chance to hurt himself. So after two runs he'd conveniently forgotten his helmet at the bottom of the slope.

"Yeah, it's fine. Like I said I've already done this slope twice. As long as you remember pizza to stop you're all good." Amaru said getting ready to go down. Only to be abruptly stopped when Chaeyeon finally noted his lack of a helmet. "Oh I must've left it at the bottom...it'll be fine." He laughed. "What? You're normal sized?"

"You'll make it down just fine, Chaeyeonnie." Amaru said encouragingly. "But if it makes you feel better, if you don't make it I'll be sure to make sure your brand releases 'Choo Choo Last Adventure' just like you wanted."

"Wait, wait, WAIT—!" She clutches onto Amaru’s arm without shame, practically using him as a human anchor. The steep drop ahead looked way less intimidating when they were still riding the ski lift. Now? It might as well be a sheer cliff.

She sucks in a sharp breath, blinking against the flurry of snowflakes sticking to her lashes. "Okay, so, like… this is fine. We’re fine. We just… go down, right? Like those cool people on TV." Then, just now noticing, she gasps. "Wait, hold on—Amaru! Where is your helmet?! You’re literally, like, six feet tall! You have further to fall than us normal people!"

With a heavy sigh, she squeezes his arm dramatically. "If I don’t make it down in one piece, just know… I want my brand to release a ‘Choo Choo Last Adventure’ limited edition winter collection. It’s what I would’ve wanted."

hello friends! i'm rae (any/all pronouns, cst). here's amaru's stats and his pinterest and under the cut is a quick rundown of him.

born in sapporo, japan in january of 2006 as the younger of a set of twins. amaru's dad is german and his mother is japanese. he spent the first five years of his life living in sapporo before his father's parents grew ill and the family moved to cologne, germany

whether in sapporo or cologne though amaru and his sister never quite fit in. in japan they were regarded as foreigners despite the fact they had been born in japan and in germany they were regarded as foreigners as well due to the fact they were born outside of the country, there was always a sense of otherness that amaru could never quite get rid of no matter which side of his culture he engaged with

amaru had always loved music though spent most of his time growing watching old footage of japanese idols with his mother or listening to american popstars because of this he became a huge fan of namie amuro and lady gaga and eventually when he was exposed to kpop as well he became a fan of that genre too

around the time he was fourteen amaru his sister and a couple of their friends created a cover dance crew, it wasn't exclusively kpop to begin with but that's what blew them up and so eventually it became what they focused on

amaru had his own youtube channel during this time as well where he uploaded vlogs and showed off his charming personality, amaru had a pretty strong social media presence as a micro-influencer

he finally became a trainee after being invited to audition for hydra labels and so far he's very much enjoying the ride, though obviously he's aiming for debut as soon as possible

personality wise amaru is an overgrown puppy, he's super excitable and bubbly and can yap away with the best of them

somewhat of a chronic people pleaser, the one thing amaru cannot stand is the idea that someone somewhere is upset with him in some way, he WILL bend over backwards to try and make someone else happy

stuper stubborn though once he's got an idea in his head he absolutely will not let it go basically dobermann puppy coded
