dear transmedicalists,
you do as much harm as cishet transphobes, if not more. why you are trying to pander to them? they dont like you and they absolutely will not "pick" you. pandering to them harm both the community you seem to hate for cis validation, as well as you. you are harming yourself. stop trying to be the next "cuck" angel, blaire white, kalvin garrah, etc. you are not them. and trying to be like them and adopt their views will not make the cishets like you. they dont like you better than us. they hate us all. accept it and help and stand with your siblings as we are trying to be legislated out of existence. even you.

If your definition of “woman” is “a person born with the female sex” you are saying “A woman can be anything she wants to be and a woman can look or act however she wants to” while also giving women the means to define and describe their oppression (which they face no matter how they look, act or live). If your definition of “women” is “a person that identifies with the gender role of a woman, regardless of sex” you are saying “A woman has to conform to a set of rules how to look, act and live. If a person doesn’t fit that set, they can’t be a woman, regardless of sex.” while also taking away the means to define and describe the oppression of women (which by this definition only people face who conform to societies perception of how a woman should act, look and live).

Stating that universal healthcare would solve the issue of needing insurance to transition is simplifying things to a dangerous degree.
We want to keep transitioning medication and surgeries medicalized because if they are not medical, then they are cosmetic. Cosmetic surgeries are not covered by universal healthcare.
I am not here to argue if we should or should not go with universal healthcare. However, assuming that things suddenly won't need to be medical just because there is universal healthcare is incorrect. It is surprising to me how little research some people do before saying things like that.

I think it is important to approach these sources (as any source) with nuance. Because, yes, the sources do mention that dysphoria is not required to be transgender, but that is not all that the sources state.
From first linked source:
Tumblr media
This paragraph stood out to me whilst reading, because they refer to these actions as gender affirmation. As someone who experiences heavy dysphoria myself, these actions come across as, well... Ways to deplete dysphoria. And the source is absolutely correct when they state that not all trans people will seek out all forms of affirmation! Those with low dysphoria are going to have a different experience then those with high dysphoria, and that's okay.
Things get a bit murkier when reading on, though. At the end of the document, there is a list of definitions that they are using.
Tumblr media
This is the instance where it is stated that not all trans people experience gender dysphoria. But, how does the site define trans people? This is where the second linked source becomes the topic of discussion.
The second source opens with how to differentiate between transsexual and transgender. These definitions are shown below.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Key point from these paragraphs that I would like to address:
Transgender includes people with a different gender identity, as well as those with a different traditional gender expression.
By this definition, someone who is a cis crossdresser is considered transgender, along with those who identify differently then their sex at birth.
With this specific definition, then of COURSE it makes sense to say that trans people dont all experience dysphoria. Drag queens, tomboys, butch lesbians, etc etc, they dont experience dysphoria for being GNC and not conforming to typical gender ideals. They are just conveying a different gender expression, and that should be appreciated without tying it to being transgender.
It is this definition that brings scepticism to many medical sources. While yes, what they say is true, looking into the definitions and nuances shows that its not exactly what we are looking for.
I have yet to see a source that says transgender people do not all experience dysphoria, but does not group in GNC people under the transgender label. Yes, even the DSM does this.
You can disagree with transmeds all you want. It is your given right to. But you cannot deny that these sources use a definition that includes who are not considered transgender by the modern audience. Continue to use these sources if you wish, but keep in mind the definitions it uses, and I recommend analyzing if these sources truly support the argument you wish to make.
Trans meds really do be like "I'm just following the science" then ignore actual medical professionals saying you don't need dysphoria to be trans.
Like IDK who to believe man, the American Psychiatric Association or some random dude on the internet. Hard ass choice.

hunter schafer was mostly right and she shouldnt be canceled. i just think its funny that as soon as a trans woman voices her opinion on something that directly effects her she is fucking cancelled. and also i will always side with a trans woman over an afab fem person who doesnt know what being binary trans is like. not hating on nonbinary afab fem presenting people but like. there needs to be a realization that yes. some people are more oppressed for being trans than others. i as a trans man will always get more heat than a nonbinary person who has no problem identifying with their birth sex. thats just How It Works. so yeah as long as she isnt being racist i will be on the side of trans women, a person who has lived more of the trans experience. binary trans folks have to be there for eachother.

⚠️ Ladies and Gentlemen, I need your attention for two seconds. ⚠️
I went to Barnes & Noble today and I found this booklet called "Gender Detransition: A Path Towards Self-Acceptance" tucked on one of the shelves where the Trauma books were. I searched everywhere and didn't find a single price tag or barcode. I'm assuming this is not something sold here, but rather something important that someone left here specifically for others to find.
Out of curiosity, I looked through the booklet and found explanations of what detransitioning and desisting is, there are stories from detransitioned people, and it talks about what happens when you medically detransition. There's also a section about dealing with dysphoria and advice from detrans folks to people going through it (or considering it).
Please, I beg of you, if you know of anyone who is considering detransitioning or desisting, I implore you to consider getting this book. I looked it up and you download a copy at the Post Trans Website. Languages available for this booklet include English, German, French, and Nordic German (I think?). They also have a link for if you want to assist with distributing physical copies of the booklet.

As always, I love you all. Please take care of yourselves and know that you are beautiful and wonderful just the way you are. ❤️
Sincerely,
A desister who's been there

Right. A bit ago, I tried to understand where the "gender is a social construct" argument comes from, because I really thought it came with exceptions. It honestly sounds like such a simple life to someone who believes that, and I actually understand why people would want to believe it. It's like breaking down barriers of self expression, liberating, you can dress and behave in unlimited ways, it sounds nice. But that's gender expression, not actual gender. Like how Harry Styles wore a dress on a Vogue magazine and everyone on Twitter lost their minds, that shouldn't be something so outrageous. That's something I'm all for: gender norms being done away with.
I came to realize that people who repeat that also think that transgender people just want to be perceived as the opposite gender or neither, and that's the whole reason they transition. Yes, social dysphoria is a thing, but there's also the physical dysphoria, with bottom and top dysphoria, all that included. And that's caused by the mismatch of gender (brain sex is a good term too, I guess) and biological sex. Like the whole "phantom dick" thing, where girls would feel like they should have a penis, as if it's missing. I think that's also something that male amputees (after a penectomy) report feeling as well, so that's something interesting to think about… Basically, tldr, it's much deeper than just "I want people to call me a he", and I wish more people knew about it. Thank you @catboyconfucius, it's not letting me reply or reblog on that post anymore, but you are very cool and super bassed 🙏

This should go without saying but I do not have a DNI. I ask that anyone who wants to insult me refrain from commenting on my posts, but other than that i do not care who responds.
I often participate in emotional discourse, so it is understandable that some may have a high emotional response to seeing my posts. But all I ask for is civil debate. And if the people responding to me are not being civil, and are not respecting me, then I find it appropriate to not respond.
Reminder, to all who disagree with me, that you do not know me beyond this blog. This blog is a small portion of my life, and what you see is hardly who I am. If you find it appropriate to degrade me despite this, then I have nothing to say to you, other than I wish you well, and I hope you realize the flaws in insulting other people.
Being an asshole is not the activism you think it is.

Calling other trans people transphobic for having different beliefs is not okay.
This includes calling transmeds terfs.
This includes saying tucutes are the reason for oppression.
If you cannot agree on one of those, but not both, then you are a hypocrite. Transmeds are not terfs, and tucutes are not responsible for oppression.

Seeing so many posts recently from pans about "bi/pan solidarity" what solidarity? You keep pushing us out of our spaces, contribute to bi-erasure and spread biphobic lies and misinformation and when we try to correct you you lash out and screech about us being "panphobic" or better yet "terfs" (as if most definitions of pan aren't extremely transphobic...) I'm so tired honestly.
This blog is one of the few places I feel accepted, both in the real world and online, thank you for letting bi people have this small space to just talk or vent about their frustrations, I appreciate it 💞
I'm with you on the bi/pan solidarity shit. They do not care about us, and I'm certainly no friend of theirs.
I'm glad that you like my blog! It always warms my heart to get messages like this, I'm happy that I'm able to provide a place for bisexuals to just be bisexual, even if it's just as small as a tumblr blog.

being a binary transgender person doesn't make you any more valid than a nonbinary transgender person
you don't have to get surgeries or take hormones to be any more valid than anyone else
you are not more transgender for being a binary gender and/or changing your body, and you're not any less transgender for not doing those.

Hello, transmed blog here!! I believe you need dysphoria to be trans, enben/enbies are cool as hell, euphoria and dysphoria are related, and above all else will respect anyones pronouns and gender identity regardless of if I personally see it as 'valid' or something that 'makes sense' (and will keep that viewpoint to myself as well)
trans discourse blogs!!
if you are a trans discourse blog please reblog with your stance, I want more people from both sides to follow.

I know this post is a few weeks old, but focused at your tags: if you want to hear about what 'transmed' means from someone who identifies with that term, I am willing to fill you in!!
ALSO have to emphasize that im still not very familar with internet slang and even just some community terms that people use that ive never encountered outside of the internet so please be patient with me because once i couldn’t tell the difference between ‘anti-anti’ and ‘anti’ for a month (just as an example)
