after watching the '98 version of the Trigun anime, I'm sorta questioning on how and why people like Knives?

like I'm genuinely curious since I personally don't like him at all and that was probably the intention

he wants humans dead and has nearly killed Vash multiple times, an interesting villain but there are other characters, outside of Trigun, like him
