I know you’re tired. I know sometimes it feels like you’re going backwards. I know it’s exhausting.
It’s okay if you need to rest. It’s okay if you need to take a break from your healing journey. It’s okay to just stop for a bit.
Just please don’t give up. You’re going to get through this.

i’m trying to be less ashamed of my failures and more grateful to where they have brought me. without them, i would have so much less growth in my life.

it’s ok if your healing is taking longer than you thought it would or should. it’s so normal and you can’t put a time limit on it.

I just want to remind you that sometimes your life really doesn't begin until you are 26+... Romanticizing and obsessing over our youth is harmful. Growing up is beautiful. Discovering who you are and how you interact with the world is a gift. Maturing and learning what you truly want out of life and living in that purpose brings fulfillment and peace. Your life is not over in your early 20's because you haven't figured it out yet, it's just beginning.

that comment about how you should not borrow grief from the future has saved me multiple times from spiraling into an inescapable state of anxiety. like every time i find myself thinking about how something in the future could go wrong i remember that comment and i think to myself: well i never know, it might get better. it might not even happen the way i think it will and if it does happen and it is sad and bad ill be sad about it then, when it happens. and it’s somehow soo freeing

“Around us, life bursts with miracles--a glass of water, a ray of sunshine, a leaf, a caterpillar, a flower, laughter, raindrops. If you live in awareness, it is easy to see miracles everywhere. Each human being is a multiplicity of miracles.
Eyes that see thousands of colors, shapes, and forms; ears that hear a bee flying or a thunderclap; a brain that ponders a speck of dust as easily as the entire cosmos; a heart that beats in rhythm with the heartbeat of all beings.
When we are tired and feel discouraged by life's daily struggles, we may not notice these miracles, but they are always there.”
— Thich Nhat Hahn

taking care of yourself sometimes means steering your thoughts away from worries. people always talk about confronting fears head-on, but sometimes it's as simple as saying, "Just go for it and stop overthinking - even if ‘not overthinking’ means not letting yourself think about it until you have to."

dealing with embarrassment is not about erasing the moment, but rewriting its impact. consciously decide to not care as if it's really that easy and after enough practice, you'll find that it actually will be.

2024 is about letting people care about and for you. it’s about answering ‘how are you’ with honesty, asking for space when needed, accepting help and being open to advice, listening to concerns and having difficult conversations. it’s about trying your very best to let go of the feeling that you’re completely alone, and finding ways to prove to yourself that you aren’t.

most of the time, your embarrassing moments were long forgotten. you’re less awkward than you really feel. people project their bad day onto you, it’s not personal. no one is judging you badly, let alone as badly as you judge yourself. most of the time, negative & anxious thoughts aren’t true, and you're more loved than you feel.

I had a professor in college who used to start solving every problem with the same dialogue.
Proff: What’s the first step to solving any problem? Class: Don’t panic. Proff: And why is that? Class: Because we know more than we think we do.
I think about that a lot tbh. It didn’t occur to me until much later that he meant for us to apply that dialogue outside of the classroom to any problem. Because we always know more than we think we do. We are all an amalgam of random information that ends up being relevant with surprising frequency.

very important for your health to consciously solidify the moments in your life where you think “this is what makes it all worth it, and my problems are surmountable.” Even if you don’t remember the moment, having the knowledge that the moment happened, the feeling of it in you mind, will serve you very well when things get hard.
