Pairing ~ Jake x reader (Jisu)

Genre ~ Fake dating, contract relationship, forbidden love.

Warnings ~ contains excessive use of Cuss, angst, one or two punch scenes, kiss scenes, etc. (But nothing too over the top). Mention of Karina & Ningning (Aespa), Yunjin (Le Sserafim), Yujin (IVE), Hanni (New Jeans), Beomgyu (TXT), and Enhypen's Hyung line.

And as for the oc, her name will be Choi Jisu as I really don't like working with Y/N. Anyways, happy reading <3 and another thing is that, I've excluded some parts like the texts and social media parts because it would've been too lengthy.

Isn't Jake a CEO?

That question came to both Jisu and Yunjin as Jake would usually stand by Jisu's door, guarding it like he's her personal bodyguard. Escorting Jisu wherever she's going.

His actions made that fuzzy feeling back to Jisu but, Yunjin literally labeled Jake as a creep.

Even though Yunjin gave the idea of groveling to him, she was being the devil she is and, is literally shooing Jake away, even if Jisu is melting.

But today, the scenario was different.

Yunjin went back to Korea but warned Jisu not to melt too much.

But a sudden thunder erupted, scaring the crap out of Jisu as it started to rain. She flinched again as another thunderstruck as she quickly made her way towards the window to lock it.

She was about to pull the lock but saw a familiar figure, drenching in rain. The umbrella doing no justice.

Jisu sighed and walked out of her front door. “I don't want to go to jail if you catch a serious fever and die” She yelled out, loudly. “If you don't come here in the next ten seconds, I'll drag you by your collar here” She declared as a small smile tugged on Jake's lips.

He made his way to the elevator. Apparently, Jisu's apartment was on the first floor, so it was easy to see everything from the top. And if you yell out like Jisu, anyone can hear you, even in the rain.

It's her good luck that she doesn't have any neighbors yet.

Soon after, Jake appeared in front of her door, drenched. Jisu made a face, pitting her carpet as she told him to get in. “Shoes” She reminded as he took a note of it and took it off.

She guided him to the bathroom and instructed him to take a bath. Surprising to Jisu, he didn't make a sound.

He came out with a robe which made Jisu blush but, she remembered that she needed to pull on the big, strong girl act, so she handed him a pair of white tee and some trousers.

Jake frowned, looking at the clothes. Those were men's clothing. “How did you—”

“I've a brother. I stole some clothes from Beomgyu. And I like to shop in the men's section” She stated as Jake went back inside the bathroom.

She sighed and dropped her body on the couch.

It's gonna be a long night.

A towel was hanging on Jake's neck as he walked inside the room. He smiled to himself and sat beside Jisu, who was typing on her laptop.

“It's good to see you beside me” Jake stated, having that stupid smile on his face. She didn't reply. Jake peaked at her laptop and read whatever she was writing.

“Damn, an angsty confession?” Jake asked, trying to read more as, Jisu shut the laptop, glaring at him.

“It's a second chance. He left her heart broken and was groveling” She stated plainly as guilt flashed on his handsome face.

“How's Layla?” Jisu asked, making her way towards the kitchen. She deliberately diverted the heartbreak topic.

“She's great. I'm actually surprised that you remember her” He said, following her to the kitchen and sitting on a stool.

“Of course I remember her. She's such a sweetheart. Unlike someone” She looked at Jake at the end and went back to take out two coffee mugs as Jake was left dumbfounded.

“Well, whatever. You maybe should come over someday to meet her” Jake stated as Jisu stirred the mixture in the mug and handed one of them to Jake.

“I'd be glad to meet her” She stated, taking a sip out of her coffee.

Unbeknownst to her, she'll soon find out stuff that will make her instantly melt for Jake.

Fresh memories were coming back to Jisu as she remembered the time when she helped Jake move.

The current penthouse he was staying at was huge. From the look, Jisu understood that Jake liked big places.

“Why don't you go up? My room is the first door to the left. Layla is there, and I'll join you soon” Jake stated, showing Jisu his ringing phone and walked towards the kitchen.

Jisu slowly made her way up the stairs. She softly opened the door as a familiar smell hit her nose. She walked in further, to see Layla suddenly standing up and rushing towards her. Jisu squeaked and picked Layla up in her embrace as she started to lick her face, making her giggle.

“You remember me?” Jisu asked with a bright smile as, Layla coo-ed. She set her down in the bed and looked at her with adoring eyes.

She backed away a bit, making her back hit his study table as two envelopes fell on the ground. Not only that, but she squinted her eyes and picked up those letters, noticing the familiar address.

It was the address of her house, back in Korea. She looked at the table and saw a few more. She furrowed her eyebrows. Furthermore, she knows that sneaking into someone's room isn't really legal but, she still wanted to check it out.

There were, exactly, six letters.

She opened up an envelope with had the date of six years back.

She read the date.

A week after him leaving for Australia.

A tear fell on top of the paper as Jisu quickly wiped it off and looked at the next letter.

The date was of the year of her graduation. Which was two years later.

A sob erupted from Jisu's mouth as tears continuously feel on her cheeks. She sobbed and rubbed the tears off her cheeks as the door opened, revealing Jake, who looked baffled but soon figured out what was happening.

“Jisu” He spoke out softly as Jisu placed the letter on the table as if, it was something precious. She took slow steps towards Jake as started to hit on his chest with her bare hands.

“You're a big asshole” She sobbed, hitting his chest in a row. “You loved me too, but you made both of us suffer”

Jake gripped on both of her hands, making her stop as she looked up at him, her cheeks wet with her tears, her eyes, and nose red. The sight broke Jake's heart all over again.

“I made you cry so many times” He stated as Jisu let out an annoyed sigh as she yanked her hands away from his grip and tangled them against his jet black locks, pulling him down and placing her lips on his.

The kiss was reuniting two lovers who broke up due to their childishness. Soft, slow and gentle. The kiss spoke many words that they couldn't speak or make up into words.

The broke the kiss as they connected their foreheads together.

“I'll never allow it again. I'll never allow us to end up pathetically” Jake stated, a tear leaving his eyes as Jisu softly wiped it away.

“You're a dumbass” She stated softly as Jake chuckled. He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and hugged her tightly.

“But what about those letters?” She asked, her voice muffled as she had her face against Jake's chest.

“I used to write you letters every once a year. I thought that one day I'll post it but, I was a coward” He stated, kissing the crown of her head.

“So, what are we now?” Jisu asked, looking up from his embrace.

“Lovers. And don't you dare you think that I'll let you go this time, butterfly” Jake stated with a sly smirk as Jisu hugged him again.

“I love when you call me that” She stated, nuzzling her face in his chest. “And your groveling period ends now, Sim Jaeyun”

The couple walked out of the airport as they saw two of their friends, waiting for them.

“Wow! Looks like your groveling ended bro” Heeseung teased Jake and Yujin wrapped her hand with Jisu's.

“She read the letters” Jake explained as Heeseung nodded.

“I don't know what Beomgyu would do. He's in the mood for murder, I swear to god” Yujin stated as the couple gave them a confused look.

“He apparently wants to break Sim's bones because he broke his sister's heart once” Heeseung explained as Jisu sighed.

“What's with the other's reaction?” Jisu asked, not bothering her brother.

“They're happy. Especially your mothers. Now let's go” Yujin stated and started to drag Jisu out of the airport as Jake stood there, with all her suitcases.

“Lemme help you with that” Heeseung pulled Jake's bags and both walked out too.

Reaching at their destination, which was Jisu's house, both the men walked out first and held the door open for their girlfriends.

Yujin got out and placed a peck on Hesseung's cheek and thereafter, helped the other couple with their bags.

As soon as they stepped a foot in, Jake was met by a hard punch on his face.

“Bro!” Heeseung, Jay and Sunghoon screamed, pulling Beomgyu away.

“That's what you get for hurting my sister, jackass” Beomgyu gritted his teeth as Jisu walked over to him and cupped his cheeks.

“We're fine now. He apologized and admitted that he's the biggest dumbass” Jisu stated as Beomgyu sighed.

“You know I care for you, right?” He asked as she nodded. “I'm letting you go this time. But if you break my sister's heart again, make sure to prepare your deathbed" He warned, pulling Jake into a bone crashing hug.

Yunjin looked at the sight and snorted. “It looks like they're dating each other”

They broke the hug as Jake took a deep breath. “He was crushing me to death! Butterfly, say something to your brother” He whined as Jisu chuckled and hugged him.

“Gyu. Don't crush my boyfriend” Jisu smiled as Beomgyu shook his head in disbelief.

“This grown ass man is acting like a child” Jay stated, wrapping his hand around Beomgyu.

“I love how he acts. Now shut your rich ass up, Jay” Jisu stated with a hint of sarcasm and a smile, literally taunting him.

Jay rolled his eyes. “I've a date tonight. I'll be get going with my girlfriend" He stated, holding Yunjin's hand and dragging her away, before she could even protest.

Jisu looked at Jake and smiled, wrapping his hand around Jisu.

This time, it wasn't for making anyone jealous or for any contract.

This time, it was out of love and care.

Jake leaned down and kissed the crown of Jisu's head.

A library date.

It was going pretty good until she was pinned against the bookshelves, making out with the love of her life, like her life depended on it.

Jisu tugged on Jake's black locks as he invaded his tongue inside her mouth, pulling her close to him and devouring her.

They both pulled away with a giggle and joined their foreheads together.

“That was good” Jake chuckled, breathless as Jisu nodded. “I think we should get going. I need to take you somewhere”.

Saying that, Jake picked up Jisu's purse and walked towards his car, opening the door for her like a gentleman as she got in.

Half an hour of drive later, they reached at their destination as Jisu squinted her eyes.

“Where are we?” She asked as Jake opened the door for her to get out. She got out as her eyes twinkled.

It was a house. It was more of a vacation house but looked way more comfy and cozy.

Jake grabbed her hand and snapped her out of her daze. “It's ours” He stated, holding the keys up as Jisu squealed and hugged him.

“It's so pretty!” She yelped out as Jake pulled her up and carried her in, which we usually call the bridal style. Jisu gigged as they got in but paused as she saw the whole house was filled with roses and candles.

Jake smiled to himself and placed her on the floor as he walked towards the kitchen counter.

“Jakey, what's this?” She asked, her eyes still shining, as Jake came near her with a bouquet and kneeled, making her gasp.

She definitely didn't think that he'll propose her.

“I know we started off with a contract and I made you cry many times, but I want you to give me a chance. I'll prove that I can be a better man for you and fulfil all the freaky scenes with you in the books which make your toe curl” He stated, making her giggle. “So butterfly, will you give me a chance and marry me?” He asked and looked at her with hopeful eyes.

Jisu looked up, pretending to think, as she grabbed the bouquet from him and extended her left hand towards him.

He grinned widely as he slipped the ring on her finger, as Jisu flinched when some sudden screams erupted.

“Holy crap, this asshole is engaged now” Jay stated, making both Jisu and Jake chuckle.

“Now hurry and kiss” Yunjin whined. They were all present. Beomgyu, Heeseung, Jay, Sunghoon, Hanni, Karina, Ningning, Yujin and Yunjin.

“Kiss! Kiss!" They started to scream as Jisu looked at Jake and smiled. He lowered his head and placed his lips on her.

In the end, even after slipping away from each other, when they got a hold of each other, they promised not to let go in this lifetime.

They broke rule number one, which was 'don't fall in love'.

Falling for each other was the biggest thing that could ever happen to them.

It started with a contract and a broken rule and ended with love.

After all, sometimes falling in love was also a crime.

And their love was named as, 'Criminal Love'.

“Tenth shot! Stop it now” Jisu groaned, almost yelling at Hanni, who took in the vodka shot.

“No Jiji!” Hanni slurred in a drunk voice. “Lemme have some fun. At least my boyfriend isn't here to stop me” She stated, gulping down another glass.

Jisu sighed, annoyed, as she dialed a number.

“Park Sunghoon, I'll fucking kill you! Come to the bar right now. Your girlfriend is wasted” She yelled over the phone and hung up.

From her peripheral vision, she saw two females, supporting another pair of females towards the barstool.

“How can these two throw up together?” Yujin snorted as she and Karina sat down the drunk Yunjin and Ningning.

“This bitch is leaving us, can't we fucking get drunk?” Yunjin grudged, whining.

A man in a suit with neatly done hair and a perfect face came towards the females and sighed.

“How much did she drink?” Park Sunghoon asked, sitting beside the drunk Hanni as she giggled, looking at her boyfriend.

“Ten shots” Jisu stated, looking at Hanni who rested her head on Sunghoon's shoulder.

“I'm going to take her home. Will you be alright? Or should I call Beomgyu?” Sunghoon asked, looking at the sober females.

“I'll take Yunjin home and Karina will take Ningning" Yunjin stated as Sunghoon nodded and looked at Jisu.

“I haven't had a shot. I'll be fine” She nodded, assuring him as he picked up Hanni and walked out of the bar.

“Will you be able to go home?” Karina asked as Jisu nodded.

“We'll go to the airport tomorrow” Ningning slurred in her drunk voice as the others nodded.

“You should go and get some rest” Yujin stated as Jisu nodded, conforming that they're fine with the wasted pair, she walked out of the door.

Jisu was leaving for America. Over the course of six years, she published eight books and four sets of them, being a series. They formed two one of the best-selling books in New York Times, and she was moving to America, temporarily. Talking about the books now.

The first series was sudden love. Like, love in first sight, CEO and secretary, billionaire romance and best friends brother.

But the second set of series was all based on fake relationships. Like, contract marriage, fake dating, forced proximity and forbidden love.

The group knew exactly why she wrote the second set of book series because she showed,

Even though the protagonists in the books struggled hard with their relationships, they still became one.

However, that was never her case.

She considered herself to be a 'female, cursed out of romance' and would never find a man.

That was halfway true because, her first kiss was Jake and, until this day, her last kiss was also Jake.

After what happened with Jake, she was too afraid to commit to any relationship as, everything felt wrong. She thought that she'll end up broken again.

That stage was so hard on Jisu that it impacted on her mental health. She had to take therapy and often cried during those sessions.

And Beomgyu's abrupt return to Seoul was a shock for all, but he knew, what was going on with Jisu and Jake. He was going to confront them, but later found his sister's heart broken and came to know that it was a fake relationship.

But, until this date, apart from those who knew Jake and Jisu's contract, no one new got to know about their fake relationship.

Jay, Sunghoon, Hanni, Ningning, Karina, all thought that they broke up because Jake was leaving the country. But they knew the truth.

However, the situation, right now, was extremely amusing.

Here, Jisu was preparing to leave for America and Jake, who was also preparing to leave for America from Australia because he was taking over the American branch of their Architectural firm.

Few weeks passed by.

A peaceful spot for all readers.

Choi Jisu sat on a stool by the window, reading 'Red, White and Royal Blue' by Casey McQuiston. God knows how many times she has read this book, but she liked it.

She loved how Henry and Alex fought everyone and established their love. Without any fear of the world and how they'll judge them.

Her peaceful reading session ended when a young girl, around her twenties, walked towards her, holding one of her books.

"Ms. Jisu, I'm a big fan of yours. Can I get a sign" She showed Jisu her book as she smiled?

"Of course" She stated and signed on the book. The girl walked away as Jisu stood up too. From the day before, she was planning to buy some books from the book store, and she was currently heading there.

The book store was filled with little to none people, which made Jisu sighed in relief.

She made her way to the romance section and saw her books displayed on the rack. She was quite pleased to see them stocked up with all eight of them. But she didn't come here to look for her books.

She was looking for, Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood.

She finally spotted it. It was on a shelf above her head as she groaned. She was too short to reach. But she didn't lose any hope.

She got on her tippy-toes and reached out for the book, but still couldn't. She tried once again but groaned. However, before she was going to turn away, a body came up from behind her and a hand outstretched, grabbing the book for her.

She turned around but was frozen.

It was Jake. Sim fucking Jaeyun.

"Thank you" She spoke in a cold tone as she grabbed the book from his hand and turned around.

"Jisu" He called out, making her turn towards him. "I know what I-"

"I really don't wanna talk about it" She stated.

"But at least listen to me" He pleaded, looking at her.

"There's nothing between us, Mr. Sim. You go on your way and I go on mine" Jisu stated as she walked towards the counter and paid for the book and walked out. She didn't want to, but unknowingly a tear slipped past her eyes.

But Jake felt way more broken than she felt at this moment. He wanted Jisu back, but only if he could make her understand that he was forced to break her heart.

“You're pathetic bro”

Heeseung spat over the phone as Jake sobbed.

Her peaceful reading session ended when a young girl, around her twenties walked towards her, holding one of her books.

“He's not pathetic! He's a dumb fucking dickhead!” Beomgyu yelled from the side. “He fucking broke my sister's heart, and now he's acting all pathetic. What the fuck is wrong with this dumbass?” A crash was heard from the other side of the phone.

Beomgyu's anger was on the next level when it came to his sister.

“I don't know what I'll do. Grandfather called me in and I had nothing—”

“Nothing to do except for breaking the girl's heart who had fallen for you deeply” Heeseung stated, a hint of ridicule in his voice was prominent as he cut Jake off.

“You could've said that wait for me or something. Jisu wouldn't have faced all of this shit because of you. She was mocked in the university because everyone thought you dumped her and left” It was Yunjin's time to speak.

Both Beomgyu and Heeseung turned to see Yunjin and Yujin in Beomgyu's house and frowned.

“What are you two doing here?” Beomgyu asked, looking at the girls as Yujin sighed.

“Jisu called us crying earlier. She felt so depressed” Yujin stated and sat beside Heeseung as he tangled up his fingers with her and gave a soft smile.

“I hurt her too much, didn't I?” Jake's voice cracked.

“You did” Heeseung spoke out.

“Beomgyu, will you give me another chance? I'll be a better person for Jisu" Jake asked as Beaomgyu scoffed.

“If you break her heart again, I'll break you, happily” Beomgyu stated as Yunjin frowned.

“But what's the actual reason for you to turn Jisu's confession? She even wrote a whole book series to show you that even with a fake relationship, people so end up together” She asked as Jake sighed.

“It's because his grandfather called him over, and he thought that it was best to turn Jisu down because she deserved someone better than him. Now, this idiot is a fucking CEO” Heeseung hissed.

“I know I'm a coward” Jake sighed.

“The best move for you to get Jisu back is, to grovel” Yunjin stated.

She saved this on her draft and shut the laptop, sobbing and clutching the pillow to her chest.

No one should suffer so much even when they haven't dated.

If Sim Jaeyun wants to make it right, he needs to prove himself to her.

One look and Jisu knew she was done for good.

She was drinking her vodka shots in the bar as Jake walked inside with his charming aura.

His tailored suit fit perfectly on his body, making him look breathtaking.

But before he could spot her, she quickly turned around to avoid being seen by him.

Maybe, whatever she wrote the last night was out of grieve? But her writings and her personal life had nothing to do with each other.

She asked for another shot and gulped down the previous shot, burning her throat.

From her peripheral vision, she saw Jake sitting on one of the barstool's, far away from her, as she sighed.

However, soon enough, a girl came towards her and started to give him flirty remarks.

If I say Jake was disgusting will be an understatement. He looked at the women, clearly displeased with her clingy behavior, as he looked at the corner.

That's when their eyes met.

Jake widened his eyes, but they couldn't hold their eye contact because the girl grabbed Jake's cheek and made him look at her.

That sight was enough for Jisu to gulp down her last shot before paying the bartender and walking towards the washroom.

After getting rid of that girl, Jake turned to see that Jisu vanished into thin air.

He wasn't getting any hallucinations, nor was he drunk. He quickly stood up and thought to look at the washroom as he made his way there.

Furthermore, he spotted her walking out of the female washroom.

She spotted him too and was about to walk inside the washroom again as he held her hand.

“Don't do this to me” He pleaded as Jisu snapped her head at him.

“This? If you are acting like this, why did you reject me earlier, Mr. Sim?” She asked with a hint of ridicule.

Jake sighed and rubbed his hand on his face. Then abruptly pulled her towards the nearest wall and pinned her against it. “I do like you. It's just, I was a coward to admit it”.

Jisu blinked at him, baffled by his sudden action and words.

“And I would rather not let you go again” He stated, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.

“Then chase me. Hold on to be before I go beyond your grasp that you'll never catch me again”.

Ten days.

Ten different flower bouquet.

Ten different chocolates.

These things were all amusing for Jisu. And today and was the day, Yunjin will come to America and stay with her for a while.

About time, the doorbell rings as Jisu opened the door, helping the groaning girl with her luggage.

“Holy heck! Your apartment looks like a flower shop” Yunjin eyes around and when she reached to take a chocolate bar, Jisu smacked her hand, making her whine.

“Don't fucking tell me, it's Jake” Yunjin stated, rubbing the back of her hand where Jisu smacked her.

A sheepish smile appeared on her face as she nodded.

“Damn. The groveling is hitting hard” Yunjin muttered, looking around.

“Men should know that groveling is the key to a happy relationship” Jisu stated, tossing a coke can to Yunjin as she glared.

“It'll fucking explode!” She yelled, looking at the coke can and walking towards the sink and opening it, making all the bubbles rush out of it.

“Happy explosion” Jisu mocked, sitting on the couch with her legs crossed and picked up the laptop from the coffee table and set it on her lap.

“But Jake really is trying his hardest, isn't?” Yunjin asked, sitting beside Jisu as she nodded.

“I'll make him suffer, for a while” She stated, nonchalantly and kept on typing on her laptop.

Yunjin took a quick glance and gasped. “The male protagonist in this book is also groveling?” She asked with her eyes wide.

“Yup. The female protagonist and I have the same situation going on but, he left her because he told her that he liked someone else, which is a lie” Jisu answered as Yunjin nodded.

“Let him grovel” Yunjin smirked, finding the whole situation a bit too amusing

Pairing ~ Jake x reader (Jisu)

Genre ~ Fake dating, contract relationship, forbidden love.

Word count ~ 3.6+ (almost 3.7)

Jake needed to talk to Jisu.

So, when Jisu was about to sit with the others in the cafeteria, Jake hijacked her, unbothered.

Jisu was baffled and let herself get dragged out by Jake to the rooftop, where no one else was there.

“Kidnapping someone in the daylight. Aren't you getting too fearless, Sim?” Jisu smirked as Jake chuckled softly.

“I'm moving out of the dorm” That one sentence made Jisu froze. “Renjun is being too much and is picking a fight with me for no god-damned reason. He literally made a mess and was refusing to clean up. He's intentionally doing all of this” Jake ranted.

Jisu looked down at her hands and twisted the ring on her index finger. “I'm sorry. For me, your friend—”

“It's not you” Jake stated firmly, grabbing Jisu's shoulder as she widened her eyes slightly and looked at him. “You did nothing wrong. Remember that” A small smile appeared on Jisu's face.

“But why did you call me up?” She asked as Jake sighed.

“Right. I was going to ask you if, you wanted to maybe help me out? The other guys ditched on me and Heeseung is too pissed” Jisu blinked, looking at Jake as she nodded but saw a little change in Jake's face.

“Hey, why do you look a little pale?” She pointed out as Jake shrugged.

“I am always like this” He stated. “And I mentioned it because, can you please help me out? I asked the other guys, but they ditched me. Especially Heeseung because he literally kicked me out of his house” Jake ranted out as Jisu nodded.

“I'll be a good girlfriend and help you out. But I knew how Heeseung would react and from his perspective, I'd be pissed as well. Anyways, let's go, I'm hungry” Jisu pouted at the end, rubbing her tummy cutely as Jake held her hand and dragged her back to the cafeteria.

“Aww, lovebirds, where are you coming from?” Karina teased as both Jake and Jisu took a seat.

“Aww look, Jisu is blushing” Jay coo-ed making Jisu snort.

“I applied a little too much of blush today” She defended herself as Ningning scoffed.

“Like we don't know”

“Hey! Just let them eat, idiots” Yunjin hissed, giving Jisu a small smile.

But soon after, as the classes ended for Jisu and Jake as he drove both of them to his dorm.

Upon arriving, the whole dorm was calm as Jake led Jisu inside.

“It's my second time here” She stated, looking around. Some places were a mess. Empty beer cans on the table, chips on the couch. A bad smell engulfed the entire living room. It was a complete mess.

“Last time you came here was on Renjun's birthday, right?” Jake asked, opening a room door as Jisu nodded.

She entered the room as the familiar smell of woods and manliness hit her nose.

Jake's room.

It was a medium-sized bedroom with a small desk on the side and a small bed on a corner. He even had a bookshelf which was empty and beside it were a few more shelves with drawers.

“I've packed up everything, we just have to carry those out to the car” He pointed at the boxes on the bed as she nodded.

“Don't you, like, have too many things?” She looked at Jake, pointing at those boxes.

He understood what she was trying to say. He had only four boxes there and a small black duffle bag by a corner. Furthermore, he smiled.

“It's because I have most of my clothes back in my apartment. I usually go there once a week to clean up and take some clothes here” Jisu made an 'O' face and nodded, stacking up two boxes, picking it up.

“Let's go” Jake did the same, but he took the duffle bag up, around his shoulder and picked those boxes up and walked out of the door.

“Moving out, I see” The tone was too sarcastic as they turned to see Renjun on the couch.

Jake didn't reply anything and gestured Jisu to walk.

“That's sad, you know? I'll miss you” Before he could speak more, Jake slammed the front door shut.

But Jake knew better than anyone. He wasn't moving out because of the mess Renjun was making, but because of the words he said about Jisu that day.

The apartment was huge. As Jake led Jisu in, she looked around as her eyes sparkled up.

This is what it's like to be in Sim Jaeyun's pad.

It was big, but the home-like comfort was something else.

“Layla! Dad's here” Jake screamed as a cream-colored puppy ran towards Jake and jumped at him, to which Jake crouched down and patted her.

Jisu coo-ed at the sight as she crouched down next to Jake and patted her.

“I never knew you had a pup” She stated, smiling.

“I brought her here today. Why don't you sit on the couch? I make something for us to eat” Jake said as Jisu objected.

“It's fine. You don't need to—” She paused, as her face was inches away from Jake.

“I'm going” He declared and walked into the kitchen. Jisu followed him behind as she stood beside him.

“Let me help you then” She gave him a smile. But this time, Jake didn't object.

After an hour of cooking, Jake served the dishes on the dining table as Jisu set all the plates down.

“Never knew you were such a great cook, Sim” Jisu praised as they took a bite.

Soon after finishing up eating, Jisu was helping Jake with washing the dishes as she heard a painful grunt.

She whipped her head towards the source of the sound and saw Jake, crouching and holding his stomach.

“Hey are you alright?” Jisu asked, panicked as she finally noticed how pale Jake looked.

“My stomach hurts, but I'm fine” He stated, but Jisu wasn't satisfied.

“We're going to the hospital” She said, grabbing his car keys from the holder.

“But—”

“Shut up” She exclaimed, giving Jake support and bringing him down.

“According to the ultrasound, it turned out that this young man, here, has appendicitis. If you neglected the pain, it might have burst” The doctor explained as Jake was still crouching a bit, sitting down as he squeezed Jisu's hand out of pain.

“So like, do we have to remove it, like right now?” Jisu asked as the doctor nodded.

“It's better if we operate him right now. It'll take mostly likely an hour for the surgery and as his case is a bit critical, we've to keep him in the hospital for about a week” He stated as Jisu looked at Jake.

“We'll do the surgery right now” Jake stated as the doctor wrote something down.

“May I know what actually caused him this?” Jisu asked as Jake looked at her, baffled.

“Irregular eating. And even if he ate, he ate junk food, so for that, his diet has to be maintained” He answered and walked out of his cabin, leaving Jake and Jisu alone as she heaved a sigh.

“It's you who's gonna go through a surgery, but I'm freaking out” Jisu stated as Jake gave her a smile.

Soon he was changed as was lied on a stretcher as the nurses dragged him inside the OT.

“Go back to the dorm, I'll manage” Jake stated as Jisu scoffed and then, smiled.

“I'm staying here, Jakey. Bye” She waved at him cutely as he was dragged inside and the doors closed.

But that hit straight into Jake's heart.

She called him Jakey.

Outside, Jisu currently called Heeseung.

“Jake's in the hospital, undergoing a surgery” She stated as she heard a gasp from the other line.

“What do you mean?” He asked, completely freaked out, as Jisu told him to calm down.

“He got appendicitis. He'll be fine” Jisu stated as Heeseung sighed.

“I'll text this up on the group chat. But should I come over?" He asked as Jisu denied.

“I'll be fine, Jake too. Don't worry. I'll call his mom” She stated and ended the call.

After Jisu called Jake's mom and informed everything, she waited a bit more as the surgery ended. The doctor came out and told her that Jake will wake up within an hour.

So, with the given time, Jisu went to the dorm, got her laptop and went back to the hospital. A few minutes later, after he walked into his room, Jake woke up.

“How are you feeling?” Jisu asked, helping him to sit up.

“Much better. But why haven't you gone home?” He asked as she shrugged.

“I'll be a bad girlfriend if I left my dear boyfriend alone in the hospital after his surgery” Jisu stated cheekily as Jake tried to contain his laugh as he can't afford the stitches to burst.

“Alright, my pretty girlfriend” Jake smiled as a nurse entered and gave Jake's food to Jisu.

“The doc told that you have to be in liquid food for a week and after getting discharged, no milk and eggs for another week and no carrying heavy stuff for one and a half months. Got it?” Jisu stated firmly as a fond smile appeared on Jake's lips as he smiled. “And one more thing is that I'm staying with you here until you're discharged”

Jake's eyes widened.

The thought about Jake leaving for Australia scared her. It was weird for her to feel that way for him. She knew she liked him, but it was going up a bit more every day.

She liked Jake more, maybe love.

But they were forbidden to fall in love.

That's the reason Jisu avoided him the whole weekend. It's been already a month since Jake's surgery and two months since they started to fake date. And Jake's mom often mentioned that she wanted to bring Jake back to Australia, which she gets to hear from her brother.

“Something in your mind?” Yujin asked, handing a cup of coffee to Jisu.

“She's sulking” Yunjin stated blankly and sat beside Jisu.

“Something on your mind, babygirl?” She asked as Jisu shook her head. “Now stop sulking! We're going to the bar”.

Jisu snapped her head at Yunjin. “Today?”

“No, a few hundred years later” Yunjin stated sarcastically.

Jisu groaned at that and walked into her room to get ready.

The night rolled in as three of the girls walked into the bar. This time they booked a private room on the second floor. But before going up, Jisu headed to the washroom.

After doing her business, as she got out of there, she bumped into Renjun. She was walking past him, but he stopped her.

“Jisu. I broke up with Sooji" He stated as Jisu gave him a blank look.

“So? Does that concern me in any way?” She asked, looking at him, blankly. But as she was about to pass him, he grabbed her arm and pulled her close.

“Why can't you understand? Seeing you with Jake makes me wanna die” Jisu could smell the alcohol prominently. However, as she was about to kick his groin, a punch landed straight on Renjun's jaw.

It was Jake.

He pulled Jisu close to him and took off his jacket quickly and wrapped it around Jisu. “You okay?” He asked, as Jisu nodded.

Renjun passed out on the floor as Jake held her hand and pulled her up to their private room, that they booked, but, kept on giving Jisu a lecture.

“You know how people are. Especially men. You just saw right now what happened. What would've happened if it exceeded way too far?” Jake ended his concern's x lecture as they entered the room.

“What's wrong?” Sunghoon asked as Jake made Jisu sit beside him on the couch.

“Renjun tried to harass me” Jisu stated, as a matter of fact, as their eyes grew wide. “Before you'll start, he just held my hand and Jake punched him, that's all” Jisu explained as they sighed.

“Alright, let's not talk about it. Are you two in for truth and dare?” Karina asked as both of them nodded.

Jake was still pissed, but as Jisu kept a hand on his thigh, his anger melted.

“Alright! I'll spin first” Yunjin took the initiative and spun the bottle, which landed on Hanni.

“Bunny~ truth or dare?” Yunjin coo-ed as Hanni blinked.

“Truth”

“I'll ask!” Ningning declared as she looked at her. “In this room, have you ever like anyone, more than just a friend?” Due to the dark lighting, it was hard to say but, Hanni was blushing.

“I have”

That's when the group went ballistic.

“I used to! I still don't have a crush on that person” Hanni defended herself. But Jisu knew all too well.

Hanni and Jisu were friends way before the other girls. And for that reason, their understanding level was so high that one could detect whether one was saying the truth or not.

And right now, Hanni was lying.

This time, Jisu spun the bottle, and it landed on Yunjin. “Truth or dare”

“Truth”

A wicked smirk curved up on Jisu's lips as the sight made the other's baffled. “Why do you hate my brother so much?”

“Dare”

Yunjin switched it out immediately as Jisu smirked once more.

“Text my brother a flirty pick-up line”

Heeseung smiled because he never thought that one of his best friend's sister, the one who looked so calm and peaceful, would have a mischievous side to herself, like a wolf.

“Fine!” Yunjin huffed as she pulled out her phone and typed in something. After pressing send, she showed her phone to them.

“𝘐'𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘥𝘳𝘶𝘯𝘬. 𝘐'𝘮 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘹𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘺𝘰𝘶”

“Damn Jinnie" Hanni whistled as both Jay and Karina took a note of the line.

“Beomgyu is gonna have a heart attack after reading this” Heeseung stated, looking at the satisfied smirk Jisu had.

“Alright! Let me spin this time” Jay declared and spun the bottle which landed on Jisu. “Truth or dare”

“I'm feeling brave, dare” She stated and Jay smirked.

“So I've never seen you and Jake kiss so, sit on his lap and make-out with him” Jay stated as Jisu, Jake, Heeseung, Yunjin and Yujin's eyes widened.

“Come up” Jisu turned her head to Jake, who said this and guided her to sit on his lap.

“Is it okay?" She whispered to him.

“Yeah” He whispered back, creasing the corner of her lips as if, asking her the permission to kiss.

Jisu leaned in, but Jake was quicker to capture her lips on his. The sight made all of them start to whistle and scream. That didn't matter for Jisu and Jake.

One of Jake's hands cupped her side of her face and another was latched around her waist as the jacket, which Jake covered Jisu with earlier, fell on the floor.

With a sigh, Jisu tugged on Jake's shirt collar and deepened the kiss, later making her hands going up to his hair and running her hands through it.

Their soft lips moulded perfectly against each other, letting both of them feel the tingles of desire.

By the way of them kissing, no one would say that it wasn't their first kiss. Neither Jake nor Jisu had their first kiss, but now, it's changed. And neither of them were drunk.

Jake bit her lips a little as Jisu gasped.

“You two, go get a fucking room!” Sunghoon whined and that was enough for Jake and Jisu to break the kiss. Blood rushed to both of their cheeks. When Jisu got up to sit beside Jake, he pulled her and made her sit on his lap.

“Alright, let me spin” Ningning announced, but Jake stood up, making Jisu stand with him.

“I'll take her with me. Don't worry” He said these words to Yunjin and Yujin and dragged Jisu out of there.

They reached at the parking lot and opened the door for Jisu and then, getting in the car by himself and started to drive.

“Why were you avoiding me?” Jake asked, his eyes focused on the road.

“I wasn't avoiding you” She stated, looking out of the window.

“We're talking after we reach at my apartment” Jake stated, frustrated as his eyebrows furrowed and the veins of his neck and forehead were clearly visible.

The atmosphere was tense as the two figures entered the apartment.

“Are you gonna say?” Jake asked, looking at Jisu as she faced the big bookshelf.

“Say what?” She asked, pretending to read the titles of the books.

“Gosh! Why the hell were you avoiding me?” Jake asked in a slight pissed tone as Jisu looked at him.

“I wasn't avoiding you” She spoke in a monotone.

“Jisu”

“Fine. Yes, I was avoiding you” Jisu stated annoyed as she made an eye contact with him. “I hate that I always think of you. I hate the way you make me feel. I hate how my heart flutters when you're with me, calling me butterfly or princess. I hate—”

Before she could speak any further, Jake grabbed her jaw and pressed his lips firmly against hers. All the words Jisu was blabbering earlier, creased as Jake devoured her lips.

He parted, looking at her.

“We need to break off the contract, and I'm leaving for Australia tomorrow” His words hit Jisu straight on her heart as she looked at him, perplexed.

“I understand about the contract because Renjun regrets and came online but, Australia?” Jisu asked as her voice slightly cracked.

“Mom called. I've to finish the rest of my college semesters in Australia. It's not in my hands, butterfly” He spoke softly as he creased her cheeks. Jisu looked heart broken.

“Are you really leaving?”

“Yes” Jake sighed, pulling some strands of her hair, behind her ear. “As much as I hate it, I have to”

“Why do you hate it? Except for your friends, there's nothing you'll be leaving behind” She stated.

'For you. I don't wanna leave for you'.

Jake wanted to say this but stopped.

“I'll drive you back to your dorm” He stated, parting from her.

“Alright. But when is your flight tomorrow?” She asked, looking down at her legs.

"Noon"

Jisu stood by the gate of the airport, waiting for Jake to arrive. And a while later he did, wearing a black leather jacket with sunglasses. His gaze fell up on Jisu as a small smile made up on his lips.

He wanted to see her one last time, but was afraid to admit it.

“Hey” He spoke as he walked towards Jisu.

“Hi” She said softly, looking at him.

“It was good to be your boyfriend for a while” He smiled. “I hope you'll make the right choices of boys in the future because, good people like me won't be there to help you” He chuckled at himself as Jisu looked down.

“Jake” She spoke quietly, as she looked up.

“Was everything really fake?” She asked, but Jake showed bafflement. He knew exactly where it was going to.

“What are you talking about?” He asked, his heart clenching.

“All of this. You and me. Was it never real” Jisu looked at him with slightly teary eyes. Her throat was drying up as she gulped.

“Can't we be together? Like for real” She asked, tears dripping down her cheeks as she used the back of her palm to wipe them off.

“It wasn't meant to be” He stated as it hit Jisu straight into her heart.

“We're not meant to be. It was the contract all along. We were never meant to be” Jake spoke but had the urge to just say that it was all lies, and he felt the same way as her but stopped. It was best to push her away.

“Right” She sniffed, wiping off the remaining tears and smiled. “I hope you'll have a good life ahead, Sim Jaeyun” She spoke as she turned around, walking away.

The flight name was announced as Jake walked towards the terminal point. A tear unknowingly slipped past his eyes.

Not only he broke her heart, he broke his heart as well.

Shattered hearts were all it was left.

A tear slipped from Jake's eyes as he boarded the flight as Jisu controlled herself from breaking down.

“It wasn't meant to be”

His words stabbed on her heart and she was finding it hard to breathe.

Didn't they share the bed last night? Holding on to each other like their life depended on each other. And even cuddled like they've been dating for ages.

She drove back to her dorm as she saw Yunjin and Yujin standing there, their faces expressing deep remorse for Jisu.

“H—he left” Jisu couldn't hold back her tears as she let it fall. Yunjin and Yujin huddled around her, and Yujin hugged her and Yunjin patted her back.

“I love him. He knew and he still left. He knew I wasn't into Renjun anymore but…" She trailed off, sobbing hard.

“Did he leave like—”

“Forever. There isn't any chance for him to come back. B-Beomgyu told me” She sobbed more as the door of their dorm flew open as two male figures walked in.

"Ji" It was Beomgyu who called out as Jisu looked at him. Yunjin and Yujin parted from her as she hugged Beomgyu and sobbed on his shoulder.

“He said it wasn't meant to be from the beginning” She stated, her voice broke as the sight of his sister like this made Beomgyu's heart clench.

“Hee” Beomgyu called the male out as he looked at the other. “You never mentioned that Jisu fell for him” He stated, calming the sobbing girl in his embrace.

“He abruptly went away.” Heeseung stated. “His mother knew that they were dating and was okay with it but, I don't know what actually happened” He explained as Beomgyu sighed.

This was the first time that Beomgyu and Yunjin were in a same room but weren't bickering. It was all because of the girl, sobbing in Beomgyu's arms.

With a sigh, both Jake and Jisu got in the car and started to drive away. To say, it was so hard to explain how they started dating and how, both of the moms started to gush oven them, saying it was destiny.

And now, it's the next day.

Jisu didn't have morning classes today, so she came to the college late. Exactly an hour before her class as, she had to meet Jake.

He was currently waiting for her in the collage garden. She soon spotted him and waved at him. He smiled at her as she approached him.

“Hey butterfly” Jake smiled at her, making Jisu tilt her head.

“I don't understand, why you like calling me that” She asked him as he chuckled.

“I like you call you that for unknown reasons. Maybe I see butterflies as a cheerful species to exist on earth, and you remind me of them” She genuinely blushed at his statement as Jake handed her a cup of coffee.

Vanilla sweet cream cold brew, the one she always gets and also got back on the café when she made the deal with him. It's one of her favorite drinks and Jake was attentive enough to pick that up.

Renjun never knew her favorite drink.

“Thank you” She stated quietly as she held the sup near her lips and took a sip.

“So what—” She was cut off when suddenly, Jake held her waist and pulled her close, his breath hitting on her nose.

“Renjun. He's looking at us” Jake stated. He made it look like he was kissing her, as it

would make Renjun more jealous.

“Is he gone?” Jisu asked as she made eye contact with Jake. A fuzzy feeling running down her body as she gulped at the proximity.

Soon enough, Jake left her as the cold air, hit her body.

“I wanted to talk to you because Yunjin gave me an idea” She started, ignoring her pounding heart. “We should go on a date” She stated, making Jake look at her.

“A date?” Jake asked, making Jisu nod.

“It'll be honestly , so believable. We'll click some pictures together, and it'll make people believe it more” She said, making Jake ruffle her hair and nod.

“Sure, let's do that” He smiled.

Jisu stated that she'll text him all the details before rushing to her lecture.

Jake just looked at her back, smiling at her cuteness. He tried to deny it, but couldn't.

He was starting to have a soft spot for her.

To say the truth, Heeseung, Jay and Sunghoon were still baffled with the sudden announcement of Jake and Jisu dating. It's already been a week, but they're still going on about how, the most silent guy of their group is dating and not them.

The girls, as in Ningning, Karina and Hanni took in the fact that they were dating but, Yujin and Yunjin's act was too believable.

Currently, they're all sitting on the cafeteria with Ningning asking questions to Hanni about her ideal type.

“Age wise, older men or younger men?” Ningning asked as Hanni blinked a few times.

“Older men” Hanni replied as Ningning went on with her question round but stopped when Jake reached at their table with two cups of coffee as, he sat one down in front of Jisu.

“Let's go on a date tonight, Butterfly” Jake stated, a smile displayed on his lips.

Heeseung gasped dramatically as everyone's jaw dropped. “That was too smooth!” Karina cheered as Sunghoon pouted.

“He stole my girl” He grudged as Yunjin patted his back, filled with sympathy.

Everyone knew, Sunghoon was actually playing, so they didn't mind him acting like that.

Jisu smiled softly and nodded, making Jake smile back at her as he ruffled her hair.

It was a mess.

Jisu was so annoyed that she messed up her whole closet and now, she's laying on the floor like she just got punched.

“Jiji, what's—Holy shit!” Yunjin gasped, looking at the girl's condition, whose face was covered with her hair.

“Yah Choi Jisu, get up!” Yujin hissed, pulling the girl up. In return, she let out a loud whine.

“What's with you, huh?" Yunjin looked at the messed up closet and sighed. It looked like there was a typhoon.

“I don't know what to wear. Moreover, another thing” Jisu spoke, pulling her phone and opening up something.

It was the conversation between her and Jake.

Jisu blinked and looked at the two girls as they sighed. “He won't even say anything.” Jisu whined again, dropping her body on the bed.

Both Yunjin and Yujin went through the clothes and threw a white dress in her face, which made Jisu groan.

“Ouch!” She snorted, annoyed, as she analyzed the dress.

It was a white dress with reach until knee and had ruffles on the end with puff sleeves.

“Wear this” Both the girls stated at the same time as Jisu blinked.

“I will be over dressed” Jisu said as Yunjin groaned and had a firm grip on Jisu's shoulder.

“You look pretty in anything, Jiji. It doesn't matter what you're wearing but, whatever you wear makes you look pretty” Yunjin stated with a small smile as Yujin sat beside Jisu.

“You're pretty, no one can disagree with that. And being a bit over dressed won't hurt no one. What if Jake took you to a fancy restaurant?” Yujin asked, holding Jisu's hand, making her nod.

“Can I confess something?” Jisu spoke in a little voice as Yunjin gasped dramatically.

“Your confessions always gives us heart attacks! Even last time!” Yunjin whined, making Yujin slap her hand, playfully.

“It's not like that confession I made when I told you that I wanted to become a writer and took up literature. It's worse” Jisu sighed, making the other girls widen their eyes.

“Did you kill someone?” Yujin asked as Jisu shook her head.

“Had a one-night stand?” Yunjin asked as Jisu furrowed her eyebrows.

“Eww, no!” She protested.

“Then don't tell me you're pregnant” Yunjin stated, but got a flying pillow in her face in return.

“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Jisu hissed as Yujin sighed.

“What is it?” Yujin asked as Jisu looked down.

“I think, I've broken rule one” She spoke out, quietly as both the girls looked at her confused.

“Rule one?” Both of them asked in unison.

“I think, I've fallen for Jake” She spoke as they froze in their place.

Jisu was getting this fuzzy feeling for a long time and today, during the ride back to the dorm from the college, she realized that she may have fallen for Jake.

“You—gosh.” Yunjin muttered out, throwing the pillow at Jisu's face as she started to whine.

“Are you serious? Girl, you know you're going against the rules, right?" Yujin sighed, looking at Jisu.

“I know it's a crime to fall for him” She muttered out, sighing.

Jisu looked at herself in the mirror as a sigh left her mouth. As for Yunjin and Yujin, they were awed by Jisu's beauty.

But Jisu was determined to not stare at Jake and make in body contact or eye contact and get rid of the little feeling she had for Jake.

But they say that, determination always doesn't work.

In fact, she fell for Jake even more after seeing him in a white suite with opened buttons and his hair done neatly.

"You look... Heavenly" Jake spoke out, eyeing the girl in her completely white outfit.

She blinked a few times as Jake handed her a bouquet of white and pink roses.

Roses were common. However, Jisu loved them, especially white and pink once.

"I asked Yujin about your favorite flowers" Jake stated, making Jisu go nuts.

Her heartbeat was going crazy as she took slow and steady breaths to calm herself down.

"Thanks. You look great too. Now let's go" She stammered as Jake opened the car door for her as she got in.

The drive was silent. Nobody exchanged any words until Jisu decided to break it.

"Where are we actually going?" She asked, looking at the palm of her hand and playing with the band on her index finger.

"I told you that it's a surprise, didn't I princess?" Jake asked as Jisu shut her eyes close for a second before opening them.

"What's with your fascination with nicknames? Every so often it's butterfly, then it's princess" She asked as a small blush spread across Jake's face which went unnoticed, due to the darkness of the car.

"I just, like calling you those. No reason in specific" Jake explained as he focused back on the road.

Only if someone could tell, they were reciprocating feeling but, due to the contract, they've to hide it from each other.

"By the way, I wanted to ask you something" Jake stated, looking at Jisu as the car stopped at the red light.

"Yeah?"

"Can I, like, say Heeseung about our dating thing?" Jake asked as Jisu kind of narrowed her eyes at him.

"I know it's sudden and weird, but like, he would understand as he's the oldest. And if I wanted to speak about it to Jay or Hoon, they'll definitely make a big deal out of it" He explained it calmly but knew that his words held more profound meaning.

"Okay, I guess?" Jisu sure was dumbfounded but Jake never asked anything, in return for this relationship, except for the shooing away of girls, so, she agreed.

It was definitely Yujin and Yunjin.

Jisu looked in front of her to see the restaurant. The one she came with her parents for the first time on their wedding anniversary before they moved to America, leaving her alone. And, it was also one of the top restaurants in Seoul.

Her eye's started to sparkle up which, didn't go unnoticed by Jake. He chuckled softly as he guided her inside the main lounge and after asking, they went to the reserved table.

Jake smiled at Jisu's awestruck state. “I asked the other two about your favorite restaurant. They told me that this is your favorite restaurant, and you haven't come here for over a few years”

“Four years, actually. I came here with mom and dad before they moved to America for business” A small smile escaped her lips.

Jake called out a waiter as both gave their orders. After the arrival of the food, they ate silently together, enjoying the soft music in the background. Soon after, as they were done, Jake drove both of them to the Han river.

“It was a pretty cool date” Jisu uttered out, looking at Jake as he smiled. “But I still can't believe that you never had a girlfriend”

She teased him in the end as he chuckled. “You just gotta be a gentleman, not an ass” He stated as Jisu slightly giggled at his statement. Both of them knew that he was referring to Renjun.

Both of them stopped and admired the river, which reflected the full moon perfectly.

Jisu felt something drop around her shoulders. She turned to see Jake took off his suite jacket and draped it over her.

She smiled at his thoughtfulness but again, wasn't she supposed to get away from him and not fall for him, harder?

Just as she entered her dorm with the big bouquet of white and red roses, Choi Jisu was tackled by Huh Yunjin and Ahn Yujin.

They needed to know every single detail.

Jisu explained to them everything while taking off her heels and earrings.

“You told him about the restaurant?” Jisu asked as both the other girls nodded their head simultaneously.

“Jake called and asked me about the place you liked the most. I asked Yujin and remembered that you told me that you went to that particular restaurant once with your parents and never went there again” Yunjin explained as Jisu dropped her body on the couch as they took a seat beside her.

“I liked the atmosphere. It was calm and quiet. Even Beomgyu was there that time” She explained as Yujin nodded.

“Ah Beomgyu. I haven't seen that brat for ages” Yunjin muttered as Jisu gave her a look.

“He's my biological brother and us three years older than you” Jisu snorted as Yujin chocked out a laugh.

Jisu and Beomgyu had an unbreakable sibling bond. They never fought with each other but, Yunjin couldn't stand him. While he was in Korea, Yunjin would always bicker with him and Beomgyu would always tease her for being short-tempered. That was until Beomgyu left for the United States to attend business courses at Harvard.

“He's a smart ass with more smart mouth” Yunjin rolled her eyes.

“But Jisu, don't you think, you're blushing too hard?” Yujin pointed out as Jisu covered her face.

“Am I?” She asked and sighed.

“You know that falling for him isn't a crime, right?” Yunjin asked as Jisu shook her head.

“I can't. It'll make it weird and, he's the first guy I'm in love with”

A pause.

“What about Renjun?” Yunjin asked in disbelief, as Yujin blinked, registering whatever Jisu just said.

“I got in a relationship with Renjun because he asked me out. Momentarily, I started to like him, not close to love. I usually saw him as a frat boy who only likes to get into women's pants” She explained.

“That's the reason you never ever kissed him?” Yujin connected the dots as Jisu nodded.

“But then, why are you taking this revenge? Like making him regret and stuff?” Yunjin gave her a look as Jisu sighed.

“He still played with my feelings. I know I might sound as if I lost it completely, but, it hurt. It hurt my heart. He made multiple promise but was able to fulfil one” Jisu stated and sighed again.

“Atleast it's reasonable. He dumped you because you weren't giving what he wanted and Soojin was up to get on his pants" Yunjin snorted, looking at the bouquet.

“Jake also asked if he could tell about this too Heeseung” Jisu said as they looked at her.

“I think this shit is getting deeper” Yujin sighed.

To say the least, Lee Heeseung felt like he was stabbed by numerous swords.

The awfully cute couple, wasn't actually a couple?

He gave Jake a blank stare as Jake rubbed the back of his head, sheepishly.

“You're scaring me, you know” Jake tried to smile but failed. “Yunjin and Yujin knew about this” He added, looking at Heeseung to see any kind of emotions. But he saw none.

“You gotta be kidding me” Heeseung hissed, slightly screaming. When he was about to launch himself at Jake, Jake pulled out a pillow as a barrier.

“It was Jisu's idea!” He squeaked as Heeseung contained his anger.

At least they were at Heeseung's private apartment, so there was no one to interrupt them.

“You know what kind of shit you're playing currently? You know how I'll react an—”

“I like Jisu” Jake cut him off as Heeseung's blank stare returned. “Maybe love?”

“Mate, you've never been in love” Jake snorted up on Heeseung's words.

“Mate is my words and I love my mom, Layla" He defended himself, earning a scoff from Heeseung.

“The dog?”

“She's my daughter!” Jake screamed, throwing the pillow at Heeseung's face as a growl emerged from his mouth.

“You're acting like a lovesick teenager, asshole! If you have the dick, ask Jisu out, bastard” Heeseung couldn't control anymore as he threw a few cusses at the other.

“I can't” He dropped his head on the palm of his hands. “She still loves Renjun"

“She never loved him” Heeseung stated. “Truth to be told, as I'm Beomgyu, her brother's best friend, she and I share a close bond. She told me the whole situation with her and Renjun. He asked her out, she accepted. No feeling attached. He dumped her and made a fool out of her, she wants to make a fool out of him. Simple”

“Wait, no like—”

“Kid. You're all over her. Like, I never saw how you look at her or how you call her all those nicknames. At least you're not too dumb to understand your feelings” Heeseung gave a smile as Jake snorted.

“I'm not dumb” He defended as a low chuckled emitted from Heeseung.

“Sure. But get your ass out of here. And right, you said that Yunjin and Yujin know about this?” He asked as Jake nodded.

“One of them suggested it to Jisu as a joke but Jisu took it by heart” Jake stated as Heeseung let out a loud chuckle.

“She was impulsive from the time I met her. Taking rash decision and later, Beomgyu had to clean up after her. It was fun at that time” Heeseung sighed.

“But tell me, what I should do?" Jake whined as Heeseung gave him a look.

“Get your ass out of my house”

In the morning, Yujin, Yunjin and Jisu were getting ready for their classes. They were still at their dorm as Yujin excused herself as she got a call.

“You're going with us, right?” Yunjin asked as Jisu nodded. Today, Jake had early morning classes, whereas, the girls had afternoon classes.

Soon, Yujin came out of the room, cold sweat dripping down her forehead. “Hey Ji, why don't you go and sit in my car? I'll bring out Yunjin in a while” Yujin said, handing Jisu her car keys.

“Okay?” Jisu appeared dumbfounded as she walked out.

“Why do you look like that?” Yunjin narrowed her eyes at Yujin as she cleared her throat.

“Heeseung wants to talk about, Jake and Jisu" Yujin stated, making Yunjin drop her phone on the carpet.

“Bull! Jake definitely blew it out” Yunjin whined, picking her phone up.

“I always tell you to shut your impulsive mouth” Yujin snorted, making Yunjin scoff.

“Impulsive? You—"

“Are you two done? Classes starts in twenty minutes” Jisu yelled from outside as Yunjin and Yujin sighed, grabbing their bags and walking out.

Genre ~ Fake dating, contract relationship, forbidden love.

When it comes to your first love, it usually hurts more than you think.

If you've never been in love, that's not my problem.

But the fact is, if you get dumped by your boyfriend, who you dated for a whole year, it hurts. It hurts more when you find out the fact that he was bored with you.

The current situation of Choi Jisu was that. She dated this untouchable boy, Han Renjun who broke her heart.

They dated the entire senior year, well, he was in the freshmen year. And the break-up was too painful.

But right now, Choi Jisu was more focused to get to her new dorm. She didn't know who her dorm mates were, but she hoped that they would be, a bit nice. If it's her friends, that will be an Oscar award for her.

She was already assigned a dorm room and was walking towards it. Sliding the door open softly, she took off her shoes, dragging her two big suitcases in.

She scanned the place until she heard two girls, too familiar voices. They walked out as Jisu gasped.

“Yujin and Yunjun!” She screamed, along with the girls, as they hugged each other and started to jump.

“Oh my gosh! Jiji! I never thought we'll be dorm mates." Yunjin exclaimed, pulling out of the hug as they smiled at each other.

“I guess all of us got on with our high school friends. Hanni got on with Karina and Ningning" Yujin stated as Yunjin dragged her suitcases in.

“What do you have in here? Atom bombs?” Yunjin groaned, dropping them on the living room floor.

“I'm happy that I'm living with the indistinguishable Jin's” Jisu smirked as both the girls groaned.

Well, one's Ahn Yujin and another one's Huh Yunjin. They both have 'Jin' at the end of their names, one had 'Yu' another has 'Yun'. So, during high school, the girls used to tease the hell out of these two girls because of this.

“There's still two days until the college” Yunjin stated. “And, the guys asked us to go to the club tonight” She finished as the three slumped on the couch.

“Who's gonna be there?” Jisu asked as Yujin threw her a water bottle.

“Us, means you, me and her," Points at Yunjin “Ningning, Karina, Hanni, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Heeseung” She finished as Jisu finished drinking and placed the half bottle on the center tea table.

“Are you certain, he'll—”

“No he won't” Yunjin cuts her off with a sigh. “You've to admit it, Jiji. Renjun is a fucking asshole that doesn't deserve you”

“That jerk deserves to rot in hell” Yujin joined Yunjin as Jisu giggled.

“Okay, I'm already trying to get over him. And I will, don't worry” She stated as the other two girls smiled at her.

“Alright girlie, we need to get dressed and,” Yujin points at a closed door, “that's your room” She smiled as they shoved Jisu's suitcases in the room with her and shut the door behind her, a giggled falling off their lips.

The strong smell of alcohol, fluttered in their noses as they walked inside the bar.

Yunjin practically dragged Yujin and Jisu inside when she spotted their friends group. They were already chugging on their drinks as the three girls approached.

“Ah! The best girls are here!” Jay exclaimed, handing out 3 vodka shots to the girls who just joined them.

“So, are you saying that we're annoying?” Karina glared at Jay as he just shrugged.

“See, except for Jisu, Yujin and Hanni, none of you are normal” Heeseung stated, as a matter of fact, drinking his whiskey.

“Dude I'm offended!” Yunjin smacks his arm as he hissed. “I'm two years older than you! You should respect me!” Heeseung screeched. His voice was really audible through the loud music, blaring through the speakers.

“I'm genuinely sorry, Grandpa” Yunjin mocked as Heeseung sighed out of annoyance.

Jisu sat herself on the barstool, along with Yunjin and Yujin as they ordered some drinks. For a certain moment, Jisu's eyes got caught with this particular Aussies boy.

Jake.

She smiled and nodded at him as he returned the same gesture, before turning to Ningning who was suddenly whining.

“You know, it's so shit that we're in college!” She exclaimed as Jisu, Yujin and Hanni scoffed in disbelief.

“Weren't you crying a few months back because you wanted High school to end?” Sunghoon mocked playfully as Ningning sent daggers towards him.

“Speaking of crying, how are you Jisu?” Heeseung asked as Karina jumped off her stool and gave a tight smack on the back of Heeseung's head. He whined, rubbing the spot as Karina sat back in her seat, gulping down her vodka from the shot glass.

“You literally poured salt on her drying wound, asshole” Sunghoon slapped Heeseung's back as he raised his hand in surrender.

“Don't worry. I'm fine and doing way better from last month” Jisu offered as smile as Heeseung smirked.

“I told you, be my girlfriend instead. I would've treated the way better than that son of a bitch” Sunghoon grudged, drinking the scotch as Jake sighed.

“He's really an asshole. He might act all smart-ass and shit, but he's just, an idiot” He said, gulping down the scotch in his glass in one go as he ordered for another one.

Jisu was about to say something but stopped when she saw an awfully familiar physique, pacing towards them with a girl.

Others stopped their bickering and looked at the boy who stood in front of them.

Han Renjun.

The boy who broke Jisu's heart and left her numb. The same boy who said that he was bored with her. He had a girl by his side who was clinging to him.

However, Jisu's face remained stoic, but fists clenching at her side. He had this beautiful, innocent face for when she fell, despite warnings from Heeseung, Jay and Sunghoon. Maybe, if she had talked to Jake, Renjun's best friend who, he shared a dorm with, wouldn't have led things too face.

The girl beside him was annoying the whole friends group. She was giggling, her hands all over Renjun.

Hanni poked Jisu on her side and slowly, entangled their hands together, just to make hr know that they were here, for her.

On the other hand, Yunjin, Heeseung and Jay looked disgusted. They didn't even try to hide it. The others threw him a glare but Jake, was disappointed.

His lips twitched, dissatisfied. He was never ever unhappy with his best friend, but now, his actions are telling him the opposite.

“Hey guys” Previously, his voice used to give Jisu butterflies, but now she felt nothing. “Meet my girlfriend” He motioned the girl to speak.

From her left side, she could already sense that Yunjin had turned her body sideways and is, making gagging noises. She hated fake people, and that girl's behavior explained everything.

If Yunjin throws up right now, it's that clingy girl's fault.

“Hey guys!” She exclaimed in a whiny tone with made Hanni, who was sitting next to Jisu, scoff. “I'm Sooji"

Multiple snorts and few coughed up laughs emitted from them during her introduction. Including, Jisu. She tried hard to not let out any sound, but she snorted.

This current situation explained everything. This girl, Sooji, wasn't welcomed here.

No matter how he dumped her over a five-minute phone call, he checked Jisu out. Karina and Sunghoon saw that as they came forward, but Renjun simply walked away with his new girlfriend, waving a small 'bye'.

Jisu didn't wasted the time to drink her third shot. They all did. Even though they were a group, the actions of Renjun had been pissing everyone off.

“Jisu” Yujin spoke out.

“I'm completely fine Yu" She offered a smile which didn't reach up to her eyes.

She wasn't jealous of that clingy girl, but her mind was messed up.

The sound of the alarm clock, startled Jisu as she groaned as turning it off. Her headache from her hangover not helping at all with this situation.

She then spotted a bottle of water and some pills on her table. She sat up and quickly gulp it down. Furthermore, she turned her head to the side and screamed.

“Fuck!” She looked at Yunjin, sitting on a chair, which was in a corner. “What are you doing here?” She hissed, messaging her head.

“The girls called. We're going for a lunch-ish brunch. So, get showered and get ready. We're leaving in thirty minutes” Yunjin spoke as she walked out of the room and shut the door softly.

A groan emitted from Jisu as she walked into her bathroom and took a quick shower and dressed up in a sage green crop top and some light blue mom jeans with, her Gucci sneakers.

She blow-dried her hair and let it fall over her shoulders as she quickly grabbed her bag and her phone and walked out of the room.

She wanted revenge, that was clear. But didn't know how to. She wanted to ask Yujin and Yunjin but she knew, they were still in hangover, and she'll get scolded.

Soon after, they walked out of Yujin's car and linked their arms together as they walked inside the restaurant. Before she could sit somewhere, Sunghoon grabbed her arm and pulled her to sit beside him. So, she sat in between Sunghoon and Hanni.

Ningning started to tell, how drunk Jay got and kissed the wall, crying. The scene played on their head as they burst into laughing, making Jay whine more.

Dude didn't like to made fun of.

The laughter soon died down as soon as Renjun walked in with his girlfriend.

“I didn't remember inviting you” Jay pointed at them as Jake sat beside him. Jake was invited too, but not Renjun and his girlfriend.

“Hey man! Don't be like that” Renjun spoke, sitting on an empty seat with his girlfriend.

Jake and Jisu looked at each other and smiled a bit. “Should I punch this asshole straight across his face?” Sunghoon asked as she shook her head. She came here to have a fun time with her friends, not to waste over some asshole.

Then, Sooji kissed Renjun and giggled. Disgust plastered on each and every one at the table, except for Sooji and Renjun.

Now, Jisu was questioning whether, she felt like puking for them or of the hangover. “I just lost my appetite” She stated as Sunghoon looked at her and Hanni grabbed her jaw.

“No honey” She shoved a piece of meat in her mouth as Jisu widened her eyes at her sudden move. She slowly chewed the meat as her phone vibrated.

Both Renjun and Sooji were eating each other's faces. It might not be believable, but Renjun and Jisu never kissed.

The drive back to the dorm wasn't really long as Yujin played some songs.

As soon as they got in their dorm, Yunjin shut the door shut as both the girls narrowed their eyes at Jisu. “What?” She asked, setting herself on the couch.

“Spill” Yunjin stated. “You're thinking about something and it's bothering you” She completed.

“Fine! I want revenge. He looks too happy and hi? He's greeting me like he didn't dump me!” Jisu ranted out as Yujin and Yunjin looked at each other, baffled.

“Got any plans?” Yujin asked as Jisu shook her head.

“Google is only saying to flirt with other guys in front of him” She stated as Yujin blinked.

“It's not like he'll get jealous of a random guy” Yujin stopped herself from snorting as she grabbed a water bottle.

“And it's not like you'll date Jake to make Renjun jealous” Bad move, Yunjin.

Upon hearing that, Jisu's lips turned up into a wicked grin. That caused both Yujin and Yunjin to exchange nervous glances.

“So, are you considering it?” Yujin asked nervously as Jisu nodded, sprinting towards her room to text Jake.

“You did it again” Yujin smacked Yunjin's arm, hard.

“I didn't mean to. Who knew she'll actually consider it” Yunjin whined, making Yujin sigh.

Jisu opened the Starbucks door and walked in as the smell of coffee immediately hit her nose. She looked around to see Jake, sitting in one corner with a book in his hand.

A blush crept up on her cheeks because, she read books, written by Ana Huang. Let's speak about research because her major is literature because she, particularly, wanted to become a writer.

She walked towards him and cleared her throat, making her presence known.

“Oh, hey!” Jake greeted, offering her a small smile.

“Hi” Jisu smiled back and sat in front of him. He closed the book and kept it by his side of the table.

She never thought Jake, The Jake who's good at studies and was called a nerd before they graduated from High school two years ago, would read, billionaire, smutty romance. And the main thing, Jisu was obsessed with Kai Young, the male protagonist of, King of Pride.

“I never knew you liked to read, these kinds of books” She said, looking at him as, a small smirk set upon his lips.

“Well, they say, don't judge a book by its cover” Jake smirked. Jisu knew, all nerds were freaks, and her theory was, hence, proven. He stood up and looked at Jisu. “What drink will you have?”

“Jake it's fine, I dragged you here! I should be the one to—”

“Shh. Now tell me” He looked at her intensely as she gulped.

“Vanilla sweet cream cold brew. But I should be the—” He gave her a smile and walked away.

A few minutes later, he came back with two cups in his hand and set hers, in front of her.

“I know you'll say that you should pay but, I can't let someone pretty like you pay, can I pretty?” He smiled and sat down. He was drinking an iced latte. She saw him drinking this once. “So, what's up?”

“I know it's sudden, weird and stuff, and I like…" She trailed off, searching for words but, she couldn't. She looked down at her drink and sighed. “Well, will you answer a question for me?”

“Umm, sure” He said, sipping on his drink.

“What if I asked you to pretend to be my boyfriend?” She asked straight away as Jake looked at her, baffled.

“Umm, okay”

Jisu blinked a few times at his reply.

“Is it like a question 'okay' or an answer 'okay'?” She tilted her head, confused, as Jake chuckled softly at her confused state.

“An answer. And I know you'll not just ask me to pretend to be your boyfriend. So, what's up, Jisu?” She knew Jake was smart and today, all her theories were being proven.

“Renjun” She muttered out quietly. “I want to make him jealous and when he realizes his mistake of dumping me, I'll tell him, and I'm over him” She said, looked directly at Jake's eyes, but her tummy did a flip as she diverted her eyes.

“So you're saying that we'll date to make him jealous? Sure! That asshole deserves it anyway" Jake stated as Jisu's eyes lit up.

“Alrighty! Let's lay down some rules!” She look out her notebook and a pen, amusing Jake.

“You came well-prepared" He chuckled. As she started to jot down some points.

“By the way, Jake, what's your age?” She asked, not glancing at him as she kept writing down.

“Twenty” He spoke softly, sipping on his drink.

“Nineteen” Jisu replied as she placed the pen down. “Okay! Let me spell it out for you. Rule one: do not fall in love” She stated as Jake nodded.

“Rule two: drive to uni together”

“I would've added that myself”

“Rule three: hold hands in public”

“Okay”

“Rule four: act lovey-dovey in front of our friends group”

“Yup! That's a must”

“Rule five: no kissing”

Jake smirked and looked up at her. “But don't you wanna feel my lips against yours, princess?”

Jisu's eyes widened, and her cheeks flushed with a pretty shade of crimson. “Hey." She looked at him as he raised his arms up in surrender.

Man's definitely freaky.

“Okay so Rule six: no one should know except for Yunjin and Yujin" She stated as he blinked.

“So I assume they already know about this?” He asked as she nodded.

“Rule seven: break up once the goal is reached and Rule eight: go on some dates and post each other on social media to make it look obvious” She ended and pushed the notebook in front of Jake as he read through.

“Can I write it freshly?” He asked as she nodded. He gripped the pen in his hand as he started to write the rules down. “And I'll add one more rule”

His veins popping out, making him look undeniably hot as he slid the notebook in front of her.

She looked at Jake after reading the last rule.

“Well, don't they act too clingy?” He asked as she nodded.

Rule eight was going on dates and posting each other in social media and rule nine was too much PDA.

Both of them shook their hand as they finalized the contract.

This was unexpected.

It was the first day of college, first day of freshmen year for Jisu, Yujin, Yunjin, Hanni, Karina, and Ningning. Sophomore year for Jay, Jake, Sunghoon and Renjun. Junior year for Heeseung.

Yujin, Yunjin and Jisu walked out of their dorm, just to see a black McLaren, standing outside with, a familiar blond guy, leaning against it.

It was Jake.

He had a denim jacket on and denim jeans with Prada formal dress shoes and black sunglasses. Everything about him screamed rich as Yujin and Yunjin's jaws dropped open.

They never expected that Jake, The Sim Jaeyun will come to pick up their best friend, even if they're fake dating.

“Oh you're here?” Jisu spoke, making Jake look up. He had a charming smile on his lips as he nodded.

“I came just now” Yujin and Yunjin gushed over him.

“You guys look so cute!” Yunjin squealed, pushing Jisu towards him.

“Have a great time, lovebirds” Yujin waved, walking away and getting into her car with Yunjin.

Jisu blinked a few times in disbelief as she looked up at Jake. “They definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed” She stated, making Jake chuckle a bit. He ruffled her hair and opened the car door for her.

Renjun never once held the door open for her.

She smiled and spoke out a small 'thank you' and got inside the car as Jake shut the door and jogged towards the other side and got into the driver's seat. He started driving.

It wasn't an awkward silence. Both of them felt comfortable and peace with each other. That's until Jisu spoke.

“Well, you never told me why you agreed to the contract” She stated, looking at Jake as a smirk, played on his lips.

“Why butterfly? Are you curious?”

Jisu's eyes almost popped out at the nickname he gave her. No one gave her a nickname, except for 'Jiji' which is her world-famous nickname, given by Hanni. But butterfly, princess? Never.

“I am. Never have I thought that, the Sim Jaeyun will agree with my proposal” She stated, trying to hide the blush on her cheeks.

“Well, you see, the girls on the campus are a pain in the butt. They're always asking me out, which is fairly annoying. And if they see that I have a girlfriend, who's as pretty as you, they'll stop bothering me” Jake said, glancing at Jisu then smirking. He turned back to face the road.

Jisu was as red as a tomato. The blood rushed to her cheeks, burning them.

The car comes to halt, indicating that they've reached their destination.

Sure as hell, the girls on the campus would go bonkers after seeing Jake, coming out of his car with a girl. Jisu tried to open the car door but, was stopped by Jake.

He walked out of the car and towards her side and opened the door for her. He extended a hand towards her, as she smiled and grabbed it, getting out of the car.

“You're sure as hell a gentleman, Sim” She teased as he swiftly shut the car door. He crouched down to her lever to meet her height and smiled at her.

“I am. Does that make you flustered?” He tilts his head, innocently, as he placed a kiss on her forehead.

“You're flirting with me” Jisu stated with a done tone, trying to hide how flustered he made her feel.

Nerds are the biggest freaks.

The reminder crawled up to her head as Jake smiled. “I'm doing it with my girlfriend” Jisu blinks a few times, registering what he just said.

“Fake girlfriend” She stated nonchalantly as Jake brought his hands near her hand and squeezed it a little.

“No one needs to know” He said, kissing her cheek and pulling her out of the parking lot.

“Before you lash out, Heeseung, Jay and Sunghoon were looking at our way” Jake stated as they reached the entrance.

“But, do you know where the literature classroom is?” She asked as they stopped by their lockers. Coincidentally, their lockers were next to each other.

“It's on the third floor. There are multiple rooms there, so you can check it out. And all the classes of the literature department and the architecture department in this building by itself” He explained as Jisu blinked.

“Right, you're in the architecture department” She took out some notebooks, along with her pen pouch and shoved it in her book bag as Jake did the same.

He turned towards her and ruffled her hair. “See you later, butterfly” With that, he flew away to his class, leaving Jisu who was completely baffled.

'Sim Jaeyun is dating a fresher'

The news spread like wildfire around the campus. Jisu felt a little uncomfortable, getting all the glances in the corridors.

But what bothered her more was this sudden flirty behavior of Jake. He was someone, who's unapproachable. Scholar who never had a girlfriend and, untouchable.

And him, calling her nicknames and acting flirty, surely shook Jisu but, Yujin and Yunjin almost had a heart attack, seeing Jake's drastic change.

But Jisu told herself that, it was just an act, nothing else. They weren't supposed to fall for each other, as it's simply a contract.

Suddenly, Jake came near her and slid his hand around her and squeezed it, which snapped Jisu out of her daze. They took steps towards the cafeteria as they spotted their group, huddled around in one table.

Karina and Hanni notices them and wave a hand at them. To which, both Jake and Jisu started to walk towards them. The whole group froze as they approached them. Jake asked Sunghoon to scoot a little as he sat beside him with Jisu and Yunjin was sitting next to her.

Taking a quick scan, they saw Sooji on Renjun's lap. But Jisu didn't give a damn but met eyes with Heeseung who looked at them, suspiciously.

“Fish in the air” He stated, looking or more like piercing Jake's and Jisu's soul with his gaze.

“Why is it floating?” Jisu asked, faking innocence.

Jake was silent all along. He slowly wrapped his strong arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him. Yunjin noticed that and poked Jisu on her knee, as Jisu poked her back.

“Number one, we saw you getting out of Jake's car, and he placed a fucking kiss on your forehead” Jay noted, sipping on his drink.

“Secondly, holding hands to class” Heeseung added, looking at the two.

“Thirdly, Jake's smiling too much, which isn't like him” Sunghoon finished as Karina chuckled.

“It's a great theory you got there, buddy” Ningning patted Jay's back, thinking that the boys were joking around.

Hanni blinked a few times, looking at the expression of the three boys. “I don't think they're joking” She said.

“It's not! Not, at least this time!” Sunghoon argued, happy that Hanni agreed.

“Does that mean—” Karina's eyes widen.

“That they are dating!” Yujin gasped. Her acting was too believable.

“What?” Collective gasps left their mouth as Jisu tried, so hard, not to laugh out loud.

But Jake watched Renjun who looked extremely baffled. He never thought that his best friend would date his ex.

“They fucking are! Look at Jake's fucking arm around her." Sunghoon almost shouted, over dramatically.

“Guys—” Jisu was cut off by Jake, pulled her hand up to his lips and kissing it.

“It's fine butterfly. They know it now, or else they'd snack on our brain” Jake smiled at her as Ningning banged her hand on the table. That caused Sooji to flinch on Renjun's lap.

The most quiet one was Hanni, who had a pretty smile on her face, seeing one of her best friends in a lovely relationship.

Yunjin and Yujin should burst her bubble.

“They guys are right. We're dating” Jake said, pulling Jisu into a side hug as the group started to mutter out stuff.

“For how long?” Yunjin asked as Jisu smiled.

“A week” Both Jake and Jisu spoke at the same time as they started to create chaos in the table.

Jisu leaned her head on Jake's chest as they were, either debating, arguing or cussing. Her eyes fell on her ex, whose face was slightly red, and his veins were popping out on his forehead.

Jake opened the door of his shared apartment and walked inside, closing the door shut.

He walked inside and saw, Renjun, sitting on the couch with his legs on the table in front of him with a beer bottle in his hand.

He came back after dropping Jisu off, but before, they stopped by a café to take some pictures to post it online.

“So, you're dating, huh?” Renjun asked, taking a sip out of the bottle. His face showed no expression as he stared at Jake.

Jake chuckled, knowing exactly where it was going as he met his eyes with Renjun. “Yeah. No one saw it coming” He gripped on his bag, tighter and sat on the couch, across him.

This caused Renjun to chuckle along, but it wasn't as hearty as Jake's. It ended with a scoff, almost. “I especially didn't saw it coming” It kind of sounded like a taunt.

“You don't really sound happy for me, dude” Jake stated in a teasing tone.

“Why do you think so?” Renjun was trying to keep his fake smile up, but was failing.

“Your smile, it isn't the one you always have” Jake pointed out, grabbing a water bottle from the table in front and taking a sip out of it.

“How can you fucking date her? She's my ex. What's up with the bro code?” Renjun snapped, making Jake hide a smirk.

“Why? Weren't you the one to dump her?” Jake asked, failing to hide his smirk but brushed it off, drinking the water.

“She's my fucking ex!” Renjun yelled, slamming the beer bottle on the table.

“She's your ex. But now, she isn't yours but, mine” Jake smiled, keeping the bottle on the table and standing up, proceeding to walk away.

“She never gave me her virginity, let alone her first kiss” Renjun yelled, making Jake turn at him. A bit surprised but masked it off.

“I'm definitely not with her for those shit. And yeah! Try to be happy for us, Jun. I don't want my butterfly to be upset because of you” Jake gave him his infamous eye smile before pacing towards his room, locking the door and dropping his body on the bed.

He himself didn't know why he was flirting with Jisu but, somehow, it felt right.

The feeling he was getting, being with Jisu was driving him crazy.

A week went by swiftly. Their friends group believed their relationship so much that they started to gush over them. Especially, Ningning and Karina.

If Yunjin and Yujin didn't know about this setting, they too would've gushed over them. But Hanni on the other hand was so happy.

You can tell that she's like those innocent bunnies which got happy or blushed in bare minimum.

And on this side, Jisu was distressed. All these girls on the campus came up to her and asked if she's really dating Jake or how cute they looked together.

And simultaneously, Jake and Renjun started to hit off in a bad way. Renjun would never speak to Jake normally after that confession session they had a week ago.

Both Jake and Jisu knew that everything was going smoothly. But will we call it a life if there's no hole in a plain road?

It was the end of the day as Jake was waiting for Jisu in his car. Soon, she got inside the car, closing the door shut.

“I'm—no, sorry. We're so doomed” Jisu said urgently, as Jake looked at her confused.

“What's wrong, butterfly?” He asked, concern latching in his tone. She secured the seat belt in the hook and brushed off her hair from her face.

“My mom came back from Canada yesterday. She's saying that I should make my boyfriend meet her. And she's too, like you know, close with the girls and Jay, so she'll probably blow off our cover” She sighed, looking at Jake for his reaction.

The man just smiled as he secured his sear belt. He looked far too calm for Jisu, who was freaking out.

“When is she expecting us?” Jake asked as Jisu's eyes widened and jaw dropped.

“You'll meet her?” Jisu gasped, looking at Jake as he nodded.

“If we can, we can meet her now” She said ask Jake gave her, his infamous eye smile and started to drive.

The drive was of 45 minutes as Jisu kept on giving Jake the directions and occasionally both of the swayed their head on the track, playing on the radio.

“By the way, have you finished reading King of Pride?” Jisu asked, as Jake glanced at her and then, looked back at the road.

“Just finished it today” He answered as Jisu took out a book out of her bag.

“Never thought that you'll be a bookworm too” Jake smiled as he looked at the book which, Jisu kept back in her bag.

“Don't judge a book by its cover” Jake chuckled at Jisu's words. He said the exact thing that day, in the café. And she's saying that back. “We're here. Another thing” She started as Jake stopped the car, unbuckling the seat belt.

“An aunt is gonna be here. You know, mom's mutual friend. Just saying” She stated as he nodded, getting out of the car as he opened the car door for her.

To everyone on the campus, Jisu belonged from an average family. But they didn't know that she was from one of the richest families in Seoul. But Jake and Jay were richer than the Choi family.

They house was big and modest. Few plants by the driveway and big ones behind the house. The house was of two storeys.

Jisu and Jake were greeted by a maid as they walked inside. A collective gasps were heard as they turned to look at the main lounge area.

“Mom?” Jake asked, baffled.

“Mom? Wait, no. Aunt Miyeon is your mom?” Jisu blinked a few timed, registering the current situation.

“It was funny to see our kids, dating each other. It was, destiny” Jisu's mom, Minju exclaimed.

There's the thing, Minju, Jisu's mom and Miyeon, Jake's mom were childhood friends. Both Jake and Jisu knew each other's mom, but never knew each other.

“How's it, dating each other?” Miyeon asked as both Jake and Jisu sighed.

It's gonna be a long conversation.
