Hi! I ADORE your comics, both of fan art and In blood! Always makes me want to get into comic making, however…I’ve always struggled with thing to keep up a consistent pace and always burn out. Any tips?

Secondly, You're unfortunately asking me this in the middle of a severe burn-out. *wheezes*

I'm sorry, I wish I knew. I'm kind of a workaholic until either my arm physically wont let me hold a pen or my brain fries out. And I cant hold any thoughts without feeling my forehead burning, and I cant do anything else than sit in the shower because thinking is hard.

So... Beats me! I'm currently in a burnout pit myself. Once I'm out of it it's rinse-repeat, I guess lol.

But as I am in a burn-out, I try to figure out when I have most energy to spend. Which for me is mornings. Sometimes I miss my window, or if I catch it, it's not always for longer than five minutes to 30 minutes. It's a genuine struggle.

I try to just work in little bits and I do my best to keep the guilt of not being faster or more productive away from myself. It doesnt help me at all to beat myself up about it, it's just demotivating.

I do my best to remind myself why I enjoy the process and why I want to tell my story through this medium. I also dont keep myself within a strict policy of standard. Some pages will look less advanced than others, that's just how it will have to be. Every page cant be perfect or peak. And that's okay.

Slow and steady wins the race. But remembering why you're in the race at all is what will make you not drop out in the middle.

About how long would you say it took you to finish all parts you have posed of Down Memory Lane? I’m a huge fan of your art, and I don’t want to make you feel rushed to make any new additions!

I posted a page once or every second day for like a month I think.

But I don't have the energy to do that right now. :(

How do you go about posting art on the internet?

Do you just ignore the people that hate it and hope people like it?

Do still do it even if it makes you nervous?

Do you only show the ones you like or?

I post my stuff for myself. If people like it, that’s a plus.

Of course I would like for others to like it, but I'm not for everyone and that’s okay. Which means that when people bring hate or negativity to me, it's a reflection on them, not me. I'm not bringing it to them. They came here.

If you're eating your homemade lunch and someone random person comes to your table to tell you they hate that dish you're having for lunch, and you shouldn't eat it because they wouldn't eat it. Like...... would you stop eating it? No?

Some stuff makes me nervous, but only because sometimes I'm not sure if people will react strongly to something that is personal to me. But that comes with the territory. And I post it anyway because it matters to me personally.

To create is to be vulnerable.

To be vulnerable is to be scared and take the risk or chance anyway. To do something even if you're scared takes courage.

To create is to have courage.

So have courage. Be scared, and do the thing anyway.

If it matters to you, then create it and share it regardless.

You also don't have to share your art. But it sounds like you want others to perceive it. And, well, I hate to break it to you. But that means you're going to have to be brave for it.

I wanted to echo the last ask you just posted and say how amazing your Wittebane saga is. Across fanart, comics and prose, you just have constructed a story that's one of my favorite kinds: one that makes you plead for it to turn out differently, see how it could have, and see and know clearly why it never could have ended any other way. Just beautiful. (Also, I find myself thinking of this as Canon, and have to remind myself it's all fan-constructed lol) Whether it's Wittebane or IBWR, love your work!

... Mate you just gave me the most intense set of chills I've ever had... I... Just wow, the beginning was cute and light then it evolved into something truly horrifying and by the end the whole construction of the last part of that scene was terrifying on both sides. Caleb's fear of what the witch hunters would do to Evelyn and Pips fear of a mind controlled brother. I just love how you construct your stories in both the soft fluffy comics and this one with that plus true psychological horror. I wish I could hire you as a partner your amazing mate. Sorry for ranting.

There's no beginning. I just make one-shot comics based on my fanfic *the tales of caleb wittebane* and happenings/shenanigans within that timeline. It's random.
