We’ve collected $200 of my $500 goal. I really, really appreciate everyone’s generosity so far! Like, really, this means a lot to me. The messages I’ve been getting along with some of the donations have really made me feel better about the situation too, thank you for your kindness. I’ve decided that as a thank you to everyone who’s been doing their best to help, I’m going to do an in-character livestream of a playthrough of Pokemon Black featuring Korra the Changeling. If we’re able to get up to $500, I’ll also do a series of request streams. If you have no idea what I’m doing this for, read this post.

I also have some more information. Yesterday night, one of the nurses was supposed to show up with a check that’s been supposedly cut since last week for my backpay and stolen paychecks. As per usual, she never showed. Tomorrow is the nursing agency’s last chance to pay me before K and I pretty much give up. After four weeks of complaining, false promises, and no shows, we’ve both decided it’s pretty pointless to keep badgering the agency. I’m going to be going to the Department of Labor on Monday if nothing happens. Tomorrow is also the big court date for putting K’s abusive overnight nurse into prison. I’ll let you all know how that goes since I’m going with K for support.

I also figured I should probably officially announce the Neros and I will not be at Bronycon. I was using this job as the extra means to fund our trip and my print expenses, but since it’s so awfully fallen through, we can’t do it. I mean, we’re not even sure how we’ll be paying our rent the two months, a trip to Baltimore, even for business, is out of the question. I’m sorry to anyone who was hoping to meet up with us again. Trust me, I’m pretty disappointed too.

Alright, I’m going to be honest: I really don’t want to be writing this post.

I’ve been trying my darndest to solve all my problems myself, and at this point, I think it’s a safe bet that I should really start asking for help now. I may be stubborn as hek, but I know when it’s better to play it safe instead of holding on to my pride. (Or whatever it in me that really doesn’t want me to ask for help anymore.)

So, some really bad things have happened, and due to events out of my control, my job hasn’t paid me for about three weeks now. To summarize, I work as a health aide to a woman struggling with various health problems, and the overnight nurse she had turned out to be an abusive psycho and ran off with my pay, a total of $950, and has probably been pocketing my pay even before then. She’s been arrested, along with another person who was making a lot of trouble, but the nursing agency still hasn’t paid me, the amount now owed coming out to $1,200. My husband and I need this money to survive during summer break since the grants we usually live off of stop during breaks, and don’t start up again until September when the semester starts again. (And, no, taking summer classes do not count, for some crazy reason.) Our bills are piling up, and we’re living off of our credit cards right now.

Thankfully we have a few resources we can turn to to take care of our rent, and I took precautions about two months ago to make sure we have plenty of food. But part of our lease states that we absolutely HAVE to stay on top of our electric, our only energy bill, or we risk being evicted. Then there’s our cellphones, the credit cards, internet… It piles up pretty quick.

I’m asking a lot of you guys, many of you complete strangers, but we could really use some help right now. I’m trying to scrape together $500; that has got to be enough to at least get us into a safe zone for our bills and I’m being pretty optimistic with that number. I don’t know what I can do in return for people’s kindness. If you’re interested, I draw a lot of things and for people who know through the MLP fandoms… Maybe I could do a request stream or do a Pokemon game playthrough in character as Chrysalis, Tarrlok, or Korra. I’ve asked these kinds of things of some of you before, and I don’t want to give you nothing in return for repeated generosity. The people who have helped us before mean a lot to me, and you deserve something. Just let me know if you donate, and we can work something out!
