red swan queen :D mac n cheese argument

Ruby pushed the bowl closer and in doing so, bumped Regina’sbowl farther away. Regina shoved back, and they quite nearly dumped bothservings of mac’n’cheese to the ground. Emma wanted to laugh at how seriouslythey were taking this whole thing, but she supposed that she just might notunderstand what was at stake. The only mac’n’cheese she’d ever eaten was thedisgusting boxed kind that could be bought en masse from the Savings SuperStore, with powdered cheese and misshapen noodles. Apparently, that was nighblasphemous, as both her girlfriends were aghast to find this out.

“C’mon, it’s no pressure. Just try them.” Ruby offered her aspoon.

“No pressure,” Regina echoed. “Ruby won’t feel bad when youdecide that my recipe is superior.”

“Granny’s is better.”

“Okay, sweetheart.” Regina rolled her eyes, which drew afrustrated grunt from Ruby.

“Don’t patronize me, baby,”Ruby shot back, using the one pet name that drove Regina crazy.

Before they could lose themselves in a silly battle, Emmaselected her first bite. Granny’s was pretty good, she had to admit. Therichness of the cheese glided over the buttery noodles, and she closed her eyesto soak in the good tastes. Her next bite was from Regina’s bowl, and her eyespopped open. There was a bit of a spice to Regina’s that was unexpected bututterly pleasing. Without bothering to clarify her position, she wolfed downboth servings and sighed happily. She’d been missing out over the years, shedecided, because mac’n’cheese could be so good.

“So?” Ruby leaned closer. “Whose is better?”

“Hm,” Emma replied thoughtfully. “Y’know, I think I’ll needseconds of both to really figure that out.”

RSQ! The three of them are making cookies and Emma and Ruby keep trying to sneak in more chocolate chips or whatever when regina isn't looking

Henry lifts his nose as he enters the house after school and inhales deeply. While there are myriad benefits to having three moms around, the best part is definitely that there’s always something fresh to eat–and it’s just his good luck that this afternoon is cookies. He kicks his shoes off (and then sets them neatly on the shoe rack to avoid Regina’s ire) and heads directly for the kitchen.

Emma stands at the bowl of ingredients, a bag of chocolate chips in one hand. Ruby points to something with over-exaggerated motions, and Regina peers with arms folded tightly over her chest. When she spots Henry, Emma holds a finger to her lips and dumps the rest of the bag into the mix.

“Emma, you may think this plan is fool-proof,” Regina says, her back still turned, “But I know what you’re doing.”

“Ruby! You were supposed to distract her.”

“I tried! She has eyes on the back of her head!”

Henry reaches to grab a glob of dough, and Regina whips around with a glare. “Wait until they’re baked. It’s bad enough I’m letting them put the chips in–I will not have you eating raw dough.”
