Fandom needs less representation for tops who are selfless and "just like helping their partners feel good and explore their desires" and more representation for tops who are embodying the Nine Inch Nails "Closer"/Depeche Mode "Soothe My Soul" vibes in terms of being a broken trembling husk of a person who is grounded and made whole and purified by someone else willingly absorbing the brute force of their need. Artist Participation in Brief

You will produce a polished illustration tangibly inspired by the fanfiction you’re paired with.

What does tangibly inspired mean? You can choose to depict: 👉 the featured characters 👉 a specific scene from the fic 👉 a broader, more symbolic illustration, like might be used for a book cover What route you take is up to you! You're encouraged to talk to your writer for inspiration, but this is not a commission, so follow your imagination and inspiration.

Do I need to be a professional or experienced artist to join? What if I only like certain Dragon Age games or content?

We accept artists of all skill and experience levels! You do not need to be professional or experienced, and there is no application/jurying period for this type of event. Once you sign up, you're in! Our writers' fics cover all four Dragon Age games, with themes ranging from modern AUs to canon retellings to NSFW & darkfic. Whatever part of Dragon Age is your favorite, we have a fic that will interest you!

About Claims & Matching:

Anonymous pitches will be available from August 3rd - 10th to artists who submit a sign-up. You must submit a sign-up form to access the pitches! The fics on offer range from Teen to Explicit and have a variety of relationship types, including platonic and crossover ships. Some of our writers are focusing on canon characters, while others are including OCs. You can find an example of the information provided in the pitches here. After reviewing, you'll be asked to rank your top 3 choices, and the mods will match up writers and artists based on those rankings.

Excerpt:

The world was never quiet in Antiva City. If not the bustle and din of the market or trade ships offloading their cargo, it was the Rialto Bay itself, the rhythm of the waves washing over the shore like a heartbeat.  

But it was quiet that night. An otherworldly quiet that Misyl Lavellan might have been used to, given her dealings with the dead. 

She sat in the study of the villa where she had been living with Josephine for months, now, watching the silver moonlight ripple over the waves lapping at the coast. It had been over two years since the Exalted Council, and some months since Misyl had left Kirkwall to be with Josephine. She still wasn't quite used to the Antivan heat, but it was quiet here, and she had the space to grow herbs and focus on the task at hand; stopping the end of the world.

Again. 

The small yellow flame flickered over the wick of her candle, and a shiver ran up her spine.

“Something is wrong,” she said to herself, her voice no louder than a murmur. 

And yet, it broke the silence like the shattering of glass. 

She stood up from the desk, her gaze landing on the door that had been left slightly ajar. Making a mental note of the dagger at her hip and the curling magic at her fingertips, she walked toward the door and opened it, the dark corridor before her opening wide in greeting. 

Beyond the corridor and down the stairwell, candles were lit, and the sound of hushed voices drifted up from the foyer below. Her brows drew together in a frown. It was much too late for visitors at this hour. 

She stepped lightly toward the stairs and descended into the room below, where Josephine was speaking with some messenger. Behind them rested a large object leaning against the wall, covered in a thin, white cloth. 

The hum of magic from it was familiar, and it pressed against her skin like the air of an Antivan summer. 

“Misyl,” Josephine said, pulling Misyl’s attention away from the artifact. 

“What is this?” Misyl asked as she stepped closer. 

The messenger eyed the former Inquisitor warily, but inclined his head as he offered her only a note before he left without a word. 

“He would not tell me who it came from,” Josephine stated. “Only that he was to give the note to you and you alone.” 

Misyl opened the note and peered down at the contents. 

Lady Inquisitor,

It is high time you had your own. We know not what yet awaits us on the horizon, but I suspect you will have need of it soon.

So, if cousland tells alistair that they're family was just murdered, he sayd "how stupi of me to forget" which means he was told prior, but before this conversation, the warden can never actually tell Alistair about what happened in Highever (as far as i remember, the topic never comes up. you can tell others you're from highever or that you're the teynr's child, but besides Cailan, you can't tell them you're whole family is dead)

now, considering that alistair says that you must be the recruit duncan talked about (if you tell him your name, he even says like ah right that was the name), that means between the duncan recruiting/conscripting the warden and them arriving at ostagar, he most likely sent a letter to alistair.

which leads me to this: i cannot stop thinking about duncan writing a letter to alistair ahead of time to tell him about the recruit and saying "oh yeah by the way, the arl of amaranthine kiilled their whole family so maybe don't bring it up"

not to do this again. but i simply can't. deal. with the whole. i don't read wips attitude. i can't. I AM NOT. talking about people who have some disability etc. that makes reading wips hard for whatever reason. i'm talking more about the general attitude of like. i want long fics but only once they're completely finished. that is a WILD ask my guy. wild. read wips. READ WIPS. it just needs to be less socially acceptable in this space not to read wips. i am so tired of getting comments being like "i never read wips but--" my guy wut. READ WIPS. WIPS are the backbone of this fandom, i cannot stress this enough. fanfiction will die out if you don't read and engage with wips. who are yall and where do you think u are?

So sad that there doesn't seem to be a good ship name for Rook x Harding. Race? Look? Too generic for tags. Rooking? You've just made Rook a verb. Hardrook doesn't sound right either. Rooklace? Maybe 🤔 but I feel like there's gotta be something catchier.
