What did I do on an 85 degree night? Crocheted a blanket!
Several years in the making, I finally finished my scrap yarn afghan. Double-stranded so it’s thick, triple-stranded if I was using sock yarn.
Can’t wait to use it in 5 months….

“Even I heard the legend of the man-fish.”
A new addition to my Black Lagoon-themed bedroom. A light throw pillow made from just felt and hot glue. Process pics + pics of the room at night with orange lights, swamp lanterns, and crepe ceiling vines.

The owls are not what they seem. No, not a typical plushie, but crocheted! I received a request to make a crocheted owl for a gift, but I wanted it to look a little more realistic. My first time working with eyelash yarn; made it super soft and almost feathery.

Weeks of rain behind us with another downpour heading our way are really putting me in the mood for spring/summer. Several plant-y projects in the pipe:
1 - a cork wreath with California poppies and mini lights for when we’re feeling festive
2 - top view of a faux plant in a bowl we’re retiring bc it has a crack. Pattern: https://www.thehooknooklife.com/post/dangling-curly-plant-crochet-pattern-by-anna-sands
3 - hanging view of faux plant above my craft area. That room is too dark for love plants so fake it is!

Mixed-craft ornaments for my coworkers at the aquarium. Macrame snowflakes topped with cross-stitched aquatic animals from @laselva.design.
My first time using size 28 Aida cloth; I had to work on these only in daylight because I couldn’t see the fabric otherwise. Each design is about an inch big.

Day 2 of Covid isolation. It’s lonely without the hubby, cats, and Christmas lights to cozy in with, but at least I have my crafts and streaming movies to kill the time. Finished a pair of socks for myself with Lionbrand yarns. I got a little distracted with my new treasure yesterday to post this. But I’ve had snowflakes on the brain lately. Trying out a knit snowflake pattern on socks, while also working on a hybrid ornament idea starting with a macrame snowflake base. . #wipwednesday #knit #knitting #knitsocks #winter #socks #snow #snowflake #ornament #macrame #christmas https://www.instagram.com/p/ClFID2xvCVm/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Only took me a couple months to finish, but turns out I still have a lot to learn about using multiple colors on the cuff for a single design while working in the round. After 4-5 attempts, I frogged it and moved it to the heel. But they’re done!
Yarn: @woolenwomenfibers
Pattern: hodgepodge of designs, original pumpkin design

Took a break from knitting for a bit to replace some old couch throw pillows. Made with 100% (washable!) cotton yarn over homemade pillow forms. I guess they came out well as after we went to bed, some goblins made themselves comfortable.

I’ve never been too good with cacti so I’m super impressed with our new baby cactis’ growth (see @yourdailyjoe ‘s recent post). But since most of the rooms in our home are too dark, I whipped up my own felt cacti to brighten up the place. Plus, Ash watching Juniper play with one of his toys. . #felt #feltcraft #fauxplants #diy #crafts #cactus #cacti #desert #cats #catsofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/ChQySVCrQCV/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Every though it’s 80+ degrees here, I’ve got the taste for fall! Finished these socks with my first attempt at a knit braid. Halloween socks in the queue! I’ve been keeping busy, but just forgot to update yinz on the projects. During the last month or so, I’ve knit two pairs of socks for myself, plus crocheted a shawl to keep at work that is, of course, water themed. Even though it may be over 90 degrees this week, it’s still chilly in the ol’ office!

Finished my first knit sweater that I’m happy with! Made with Lion Brand Comfy Cotton yarn, and it doesn’t disappoint. I reused it from a previous knit project that I scrapped when I realized this yarn was a tad to thick for a simple top. Nothing wrong with recycling, right?
