Midnight Flight

Holiday-related shenanigans have thrown off my schedule, so I haven’t had any sketches worth posting, but I did finish this a few days ago - it was done as a gift (they wanted an owl design), so I had to hit a tight deadline to get it shipped in time, but I think it turned out pretty well! The lighting layers are also semi-opaque, so they are affected by the selected shirt colour, which is something I hadn’t tried before.

Decided to explore where that head sketch could go... which of course I decide after I’d already started cleaning it up, oops.

I had seen this short film when it debuted, and in the past few months I’d tried a few times to find it again and failed - but today I finally stumbled on it! So I need to share it, because it’s beautiful and haunting. And the music is awesome.

A few random sketches from today; A super quick behemoth and some barn owl studies (And now I also know I need a better lighting set up for photos, I couldn’t get the owls to clean up very well)

Ok, maybe not the most traditional monster, but definitely one of the scarier bosses in Bloodborne.
