20's

Not many people talk about the fear of turning 20. The very fact that you're going to be an adult, suddenly the whole world changes, the perspective shifts like crazy. You don't know what's happening, what is going to happen, how are you going to get through college then find a job to survive, build connections with people when that social anxiety is tried to knock you out all the time, meet the expectations of the people around you. Suddenly everything that had been fabricated throughout childhood and teenage years, shatters. You come face to face with the reality of life, with the fact that no matter how scared you are, you have to be the one to take control of the steering wheel, no one would guide you or tell you what's right for you because who exactly knows what they're doing?

You have to become a professional in the field in which several people are already competing on a daily basis. Choosing the profession when you don't even know what is right for you and what's not, what if you feel like leaving it and it gets too late when you actually realise it? Would you be able to start something new from the scratch? What would the people around you think? Will they think you gave up or the very fact that you couldn't even get through with it.

All of the traumas hit you right in the back of your head and you start your life all over again after revisiting the memories, understanding stuff which was beyond your wildest imaginations in your teenage and childhood years. You'll have to deal with your emotions entirely on your own because you know why? Everyone is going through something or the other, so everyone needs someone who'll lend an ear to them but they kinda back off when it's their turn to listen.

You have to be the one to resolve all the stirred up emotions having no head or tail and finding yourself in a never ending puzzle. You need to be the one to get yourself out of it because no one else would do it for you.

You'll meet people from different backgrounds having different stories to tell. And you need to find your people amongst the billions of people. And sometimes you don't, sometimes you're too late to understand the people who were always there for you. Your friends might get cold with you and you might never even speak to each other again. So keep them close until they are with you.

Social media takes a toll on you are you not good enough? “ Do I need to wear something like this to be good even though I feel my best in those clothes, do I have to be like that to be liked by everyone? Even though I feel comfortable in my own skin? Do I have to be as good as the kid next door, or my friend or someone else to be liked and appreciated? Do I have to get something done in order to be appreciated and not isolated?”
