Dead Still was a weird little show. I wonder if they’re renew for a second season or not. I feel like six episodes wasn’t enough to get into the characters too deeply so it was heavy on the plot. And I’m not quite sure I followed what actually happened, lol. I ship Nancy and Conall like a house on fire. And I low key ship Blennerhasset and the inspector (whose name I don’t remember).
Also the actor who played the priest in Derry Girls appears as Nancy’s brother

Swerve
A short film I wrote about a group of criminals competing for a mysterious bag has just hit the interwebs in all its bloody and profane glory. The film was shot in Kilkenny under the Mycrofilms banner and directed by Ross Costigan.
Check out Swerve here.

Locus Of Control
Here’s the teaser trailer for Locus Of Control, the first feature film from Sean Clancy. I get to play the lead part which was quite the novelty for me and I had a mighty time shooting it last autumn with a frankly, fucking brilliant cast. I’ve described it as The Shining on a Jobbridge scheme. Which is kind of what most dole related schemes are like anyway, grim enough and you might die in a maze. The premiere is going to be announced real soon. Anyway, have a look and a watch here.

The Hellfire Squad
After 7 years of mild to intensive labour, Peter McGann and myself have finally given birth to The Hellfire Squad. It’ll be the first play focusing solely on Michael Collins infamous hit squad, a Dirty Dozen style adventure about the assembly, training and deployment of a bunch of mismatched assassins in the aftermath of the 1916 Rising. I’m very excited to debut this new play as part of Devious Theatre’s 10th birthday programme, handily entitled Devious 10. The production will be directed by the brilliant Sarah Baxter, who I mostly recently worked with on Taboo, and produced by the bold Ken McGuire, who I have worked on a stupid amount of theatre with over the past 10 years. It will take its debut bow in Project Arts Centre, Dublin from 18-23 July and Watergate Theatre, Kilkenny from 28-30 July as part of this years Alternative Kilkenny Arts programme. God bless the work.

The Kudome Valentine
There was an air of inevitability of me doing something based on pro wrestling someday and it's only in the past 6 months that it's started coming together. It is (presently) a play about two Irish women's wrestlers and their diverging career paths. Very early days yet. But here's the finishing move I took the title from. It's fucking lethal looking.

I'm working on Daffney Molloy And Other Catastrophes
In post and pre-production my new short film. Here's the first pictures we've released from it. It's a story about stories so we've got the story part filmed, stories yet to be filmed. We'll be premiering it in 2015. The synopsis for the film is thus:
A comedy set in present day Kilkenny, it tells the story of four catastrophes of men who whilst drowning their sorrows at a housewarming party, get caught up in stories about a near mythical girl from their past. Apart from one of them. Crippled with social anxiety and struggling with his newly found sobriety, Tommy has no idea who Daffney Molloy is. As the yarns are spun, he begins to question how much of what he’s hearing is reality and how much of it is fantasy.
It's adapted from part of my play Smitten which Devious Theatre produced a couple of times. I'm very lucky to have a great cast on this one including Eddie Murphy, Jack O'Leary, Niall Morrissey, Peter McGann, Aoife Spratt, Amy Dunne, Lynsey Moran, Leah Egan, Alexandra Christle, Paddy O'Leary and Aoibhín Murphy.
I've still got one more part to cast, specifically the title character as a 16 year old. We're looking for an actress aged between 16 and 18 so if anyone knows anyone who'd be interested, give us a shout at [email protected]

Swerve
Here's the first character posters for a short crime movie I wrote. It's called Swerve and it's essentially like Streets Of Rage but myriad twists, turns and chunks of violence. And humour. And a bit with a dog.
We filmed it last year and we're hoping to premiere it at the end of this year. These are the trio of lead characters: Teddy Boy, The Gent and Vaughan. Of a bad bunch, these are probably the worst.
