Okay!! I'm very tired and sweaty but the wardrobes are successfully moved! I was able to push the flat file pretty far but decided to be safe and take a break. I spent yesterday afternoon setting up a fish pond and moving a lot of sand, pebbles, and concrete blocks, so let's not get too wild here.

Now that I've had twenty four hours to question this life choice, I'll say this: it is not the easy path, but I genuinely think it will be a good one.

Puts my flat file right next to my press. I've been using the file --very poorly-- for holding packing supplies and miscellany and am eager to get letterpress and printmaking stuff into it instead.

The flat file is also the only surface large enough to hold the glass inking slab*, so double bonus points for closeness.

(*a giant heckin thicc piece of glass I found in the basement after we moved in; I absolutely refused to toss it and it migrated around the basement through all the various floods. It was free and massive, you can pry it from my cold dead hands.)

The flat file is currently in a corner, and I failed to appreciate how unusable it would make the wall space in that corner.

It is exactly the same width as my Ikea wardrobes that I use to store inventory. The swap was meant to be. So the wardrobes will take up that wall space in a much more usable way and make that corner feel more open (wardrobes are much shallower than the file!)

Meanwhile there will be open wall over the file; I wanted to rig some kind of print drying rack (double duty for my kids' billions of paintings and drawings), so it can go there.

Having the file open on three sides will also make the top (and wall) more accessible!

It's a good plan. Just... Heavy.

This is the entirety of the Arizona state forests, the entire Cascades mountain range. Swathes of pristine desert around the national parks in Utah. On the doorstep of Jackson Hole.

THIS BILL IS BIG, BUT IT CAN BE AMENDED AND ABSOLUTELY MUST NOT PASS AS IS please.

If you have ever enjoyed the wilderness, we stand to lose it all forever.
