i feel like the paparazzi should have had a bigger role in hoo. i mean since piper was the daughter of one of the most biggest actors in hollywood and percy is one of the america's most wanted, both of them on a suspicious cruise ship with some other mysterious people causing random chaos everywhere should have caused a little bit of hysteria among the media.

for one, i feel like it would add a lot of humour and chaos. imagine every dinner or lunch scene on the argo II starting with a funny update of what the newspaper has to say about their new globetrotting adventure. imagine the paparazzi reminding percy more about his life ("mr. jackson, are you going to explode another monument?!" "bestie what r you talking about?"). imagine every fight scene being interrupted by people asking questions.

but imagine the angst potential too. imagine the paparazzi affecting piper's arc of figuring herself out. and the additional pressure she feels to maintain this relationship with jason. imagine percy and annabeth falling into tartarus because the flashing lights prevented the rest of the seven from getting to them on time. imagine all the mental breakdowns on camera. imagine them worrying that sally and grover would see everything on tv.

do you guys think that wrath of the triple goddess is going to be different from chalice of the gods in the sense that there's going to be actual character conflicts?

percy is already pressured to go through with hecate's demand to take care of her mansion and pets. and hecate specifically told them to not taste her potions. from what we know, grover drinks a strawberry potion and messes it up anyway. no manipulation, no spell casting, just temptation.

but is this going to genuinely affect percy and annabeth? will there be some fight between them and grover for messing up their future because he just wanted a taste of a potion? or will rick be a coward and just write it off as 'its okay, grover, we all make mistakes'

we know these three books are going to be quick easy writes for rick as fan service but does wotg have potential to be interesting in terms of writing the changed and potentially fragile relationship between our celestial trio with different consequences in their story, consequences which are now personal?

i'm not trying to demean your opinion or anything, i understand you trying to express your concerns, these are just my personal thoughts.

annabeth being black has a special place in the heart of some people. they genuinely like leah and want to support her. so they put all of their time and effort into creating beautiful art pieces of leah. so when notmyannabeth takes their art without permission or credits, and alter it so that they can express their discontent for the actress that the artist loves, therefore disrespecting the artist's passions and efforts, and the actress? its not a very nice thing to do, if you can understand what I'm saying.

I understand this account is dissatisfied by the casting. its a valid thing to feel. but there are ways to express your opinion on how the cast should look in your mind. no one would stop notmyannabeth if they had just said "i prefer to draw book annabeth". no one would stop them if they reposted book annabeth art (which still exist). i hope you understand why the point im getting across here.

i saw uhm, the hate that @ notmyannabeth was getting on my side of tumblr and this isnt like factual n like in my opinion, theyre just drawing what they want to draw. Sure they could have credited the original artists (from what I've seen people are saying theyre just whitewashing annie) but other than that, i don't see saying wrong with it they are just expressing how they intended for the cast to look. personally, I myself wasn't very happy even when i see the movies (the older ones) with a BRUNETTE Annabeth, it's not just annabeth when most of the cast don't look like the characters?

is it just me or does the circe's island scene and the siren's bay scene parallel each other so perfectly in sea of monsters. in both scenes, a harmful entity shows percy/annabeth a vision of their idea of perfectionism. and in both scenes, both of them put themselves in harm's way thinking that they were going to achieve this vision while in reality they were in danger, and had to be rescued by the other. and both scenes are followed by a comforting hug. but the thing is; the different ideas of perfectionism shown to percy and annabeth align perfectly with their view of life. annabeth hates her life; she feels confident in herself but still hates her broken family, the itching to become great even though she feels so powerless, luke. but percy is different. he hates himself, inside and out. so annabeth saw her life fixed. percy saw himself fixed.

im talking about this as empathetically as possible. i understand some people are bummed that they didn't have book accurate characters, I really do, I felt like that when the casting came out too, but taking the emotions out online and ruining things for the people who actually like the change instead of leaving room for your mind to get used to it and like it (like i did) is straight up horrible.

is it just me or does anyone else fall in love with the way rick wrote annabeth in cotg

she's living her best architect life in sodnyc, she doesnt have a physical description, she has a roommate who is her friend, she's a busy person who has to get to classes, she regularly visits the jacksons, she was so sweet, she hyped percy up when he was insecure about being an older stepbrother even though she had so much trauma associated with her step siblings, she tears up when sally complements her, she's the top in all of her classes, she has new hobbies like baking, SHE HAS A FREAKING FANCLUB AND PERCY IS KNOWN TO PPL AS HER COLLEAGUE, she was one of the funniest characters literally i ate up all of her stupid little cheesy puns (its not radioactive, honey!!!!)

i just love to see our girl flourish and i feel like her appearances in trials of apollo and the kane chronicles crossover last book just felt like she was there to be the abeth in percabeth
