funny how this post talks about not offending a certain language the goes on offending 7 other languages 

When people go off about how English is the worst language, I just wanna point out a few things:

- Our future tense requires only one word (looking at you, Spanish)

- Words don’t change meanings depending on tone (Cantonese)

- We don’t live in some bizarre Beauty And The Beast world where we give inanimate objects genders (romance languages, German)

- Likewise, we don’t have have two different words for “they” because we don’t care whether “they” were male or female (Spanish, French)

- There’s no formal “you” because we don’t play mind games about whether or not we respect you (Spanish, German)

- We don’t alter the whole fucking language based on how much we respect you (Japanese)

- The letters and sounds might not be consistent, but at least we have letters, not just pictures (Mandarin)

- We don’t have a fucking stupid tense specifically for talking to two people because some idiot decided that a two-person tense was necessary (Arabic)

So yeah, I think we’re doing okay as a language

here is where they explain the thing with the fanalis , idk if it was mentioned in  the manga but it was explained in the  omake 

HI dany! I have a question about magic In Magi. It appears there are people born to be magicians and others that are just regular humans. Does it ever explain how one is born a magician? Also there seems to be different kinds of magicians like ones from sasan and sharrkhans homeland. It makes me think can a fanalis become a Magician too? Or their magoi isn’t strong enough?

As far as i remember, the series don’t explain in a very explicit way how some people are born magicians and others not ( please correct me if i’m missing something!) however, Yamraiha explained one time what a Magician is, a Magician is someone who is born with the ability to transform magoi into substance without any tools ( like metal vessels and such) and  she also expained that the rank of a magic user depends on the amount of Magoi that you can produce from your Rukh! Fanalis have little amounts of Magoi on their bodies, so it might not be likely that they can be magicians, or at least not powerful ones! ( but it’s one thing in favor of another really… i would love to have super strenght xD) but i’m not sure, at least right now i don’t remember any clarifications on the matter. In Night 78 ^^ Yam explains some stuff about magic and ranks :D
