Posted @withregram • @lavenir_music Glad to introduce to you @herb_cabral Herb is one of Manila’s house and techno DJ’s. Early on, in the heat of the mobile disco era, he has already been DJ’ing for a decade when in the late90s he went into hiatus for a few years. He then came back in the early and mid 2000’s as a resident of Sax and Hacienda in Angeles City. In 2014, he became a part of @deepgroovecollective , a consortium of like-minded DJ’s who share his passion for #housemusic and #techno. Herb sees this friendship and alliance as a catalyst to improve each other’s roles as influencers of the scene. The collective soon became a fixture in Manila’s underground music scene playing at intimate house and techno parties and gatherings. Today, electronic music production has been the focal point of Herb’s musical endeavour. His gigs with Deepgroove has provided him a solid platform to develop and experiment with his music further. Eventually, his music has gained the attention of noteworthy indie house and techno labels such as Asia Music (Southeast Asia), Sayaw Records (Ph), Jumpstereo Records (UK), Funktrap Records (USA), Frameworkxx Records (The Netherlands), and Berlin After Dark (USA). He has been playing and gigging with Movement, Footprints and Konnekt which are collectives of house and techno DJ’s for a couple of years before the pandemic hit and has joined Footprints in the music festival Epizode in Phu Quoc Vietnam in December 2019. This year marks his 33rd year as a DJ.
