Announcement

Hello everyone. First of all if you're still reading this and here with us than thank you so much for sticking with us. Now, it's my duty to inform you guys that Admin Em and I have thought this over, and considered everything before deciding that Here-rpg is closing down.

The dash has never quite gotten going and once people started deactivating (and then using their accounts for other rps)  without informing the admins, this became sort of inevitable. I apologise to those of you who have gotten attached to their characters or really were looking forward to this roleplay.

This has been Em and I's first RP and we've learned quite a lot :) It's been lovely and I'm sorry it has to end to suddenly.

Event announcement: Here's Cultural Fair!

From the 24rd to the 27th, the cultural fair will be officially running! During this time please be sure to start your paras. If your interactions run over the time given, that is perfectly fine, just be sure to start them within this time. Later tomorrow a list of partners will be posted. The person who you are partnered with will be the main focus of your event paras. You are still encouraged to interact with other characters, but try to stay with your partner for most of the fair.

Isabelle Grace OPEN

(25 when forgotten) (Resident for 3 years) (From: Fontvieille, Monaco) (FC: Nina Dobrev)

Isabelle Grace…even her name sounds shy- as shy as she.  The only child to her parents, she was used to being alone from a very young age. At first, her parents weren’t alarmed by her quiet demeanour, but soon, as years passed and she finished Kindergarten, it became clear that she wasn’t becoming very outgoing on her own, instead of taking her teacher’s advice of sending her to counselling they forced her out of her comfort zone and always kept her as sociable as possible. This seemed to work as Isabelle soon became much friendlier. However, she was never quite right for the crows- too quiet sometimes and around her friends far too bossy and loud in an attempt to be outgoing.

  Because of this she never made many friends that lasted and those who did, she shook off because of her own insecurities. When Isabelle got out of high school she spent most of her time convincing both herself and others that she could live without any friends. All through college she carried this mentality and as a result never made strong, lasting friendships. Plenty of people came and went from her life but Isabelle, in her stubbornness, didn’t try very hard in her friendships.

These things affected her when she tried getting jobs as well, as she never got along well with her coworkers- simply because of what seemed like mood swings. Trying to fix this, at the next job she would stay incredibly quiet and cold which would then affect her relationship with coworkers once more. This was a cycle that continued as Isabelle tried to constantly adapt and fit the social norm.

  At the age of 25 when her parents passed away, it was only a matter of 3 months before she found herself Here. Isabelle carries the hurt of being forgotten deep in her heart and she is one of the few people Here that find themselves unhappy. Now, after 2 years Here, she is finally coming out of her wannabe chameleon state and is learning who she is as a person- still she wants nothing more than to be remembered by the people that she tried all her life to impress.

Audition for Nicolas Wood accepted!

OOC: We both liked the length of your audition; it's obvious that you put time into this. Sukaina likes how you delved into the character, as do I! I like how descriptive you were in your paragraph sample. 

Describe the character in your own words: In youth everything seems perfect, but the older you get the more you are forced to face reality. That’s how it was for Nicolas. When he was a child his parents gave him everything, he was their baby and they had this desire to spoil him—and Nicolas relished in that world, knowing he was favored and enjoying that his older brother wasn’t. His life at home wasn’t the only easy thing for him. Everywhere he went he was liked in some way, and that was all he ever needed.

Things started to change when he met Max, the brilliant student that he longed to be like. Max inadvertently pushed Nicolas to do his best academically, but it was never enough. Max was always better and Nicolas was always right in his shadow. He was losing that attention he was so comfortable with from his youth. College came around and separated Nicolas from Max by sending them off to different schools. When Nicolas needed that old, childhood attention most he was stuck in the shadow of his unborn little sister. Not even born yet, he hated and envied her with a dangerous passion. His mother dying from child-birth only weakened his sense of rationality more. Defeated and confused, he vocalized his disdain for the baby which only lead to him being kicked out of the family—his family. He had lost it all, and nothing he said would fix anything. Now he was alone, the only attention he got from himself. Then he found himself in Here, with a chance to start over.

Roleplay sample: The morning light shown through the window of his bedroom, piercing the darkness. Fresh light danced across his sleeping body giving his skin a somber glow. Nicolas slept, his bed under the window, as the sun continued to rise outside. The street outside his little apartment kicked into life, car horns screaming down the road while people yelled greetings to familiar faces. Friends and families hugging and talking, remembering old times, would clutter the sidewalks. It was all too loud for him.

Nicolas woke up, the dream of his old life fresh in his mind. He remained there, beneath the sheets, reminding himself it was all in the past—it didn’t matter anymore. Climbing out of his warm bed and sliding into a simple pair of sweat pants he made his way to his kitchen, leaving his thoughts behind. He walked down the stairs with a spring in his step. He made a fresh pot of coffee and decided to sit on his porch; it was a beautiful day after all. Nicolas isn’t sure how he got here, but he never really questioned it. Would you question waking up in a town where everything seemed so perfect? You were provided with practically everything you could ever need and no one was ever forgotten. Here, as the called it, brought Nicolas back to his old self; happy and friendly, enjoying the attention. He’d been here for three years now, and he had no plans on ever leaving.
