Incredible. Maybe he was Poultry Man all along...

Umxommon headcanons?? Awesome!!
-Tango just have constant red eye from redstone getting into his eyes.
-Enderman!Zedaph
-Grian isn't a watcher or an avian, he's just some guy that keeps getting into situations.
-Gem is a ghost of the light tower
-Impulse is a half breed, half dragon and half blaze, making him look like a 'demon'
-Mumbo is very powerful but is too anxiety filled to even be seen as powerful.
Enderman Zed! Haven't seen that one in a while, love it. That's why his eyes are purple and why he keeps messing with the void!

Every living thing - mob, player, NPC - has a variable in their code that defines their species. A hybrid has more than one of these variables active at once. (A cyborg would only have one, unless they're Doc.)
Players also have a special tag that marks them as players, letting them do the kinds of wild things that players can do. The tag also forces them into the same humanoid shape, regardless of species. This leads to weird situations; for instance, Zedaph is considered 100% sheep, but he's walking on two legs.
Also, there's a weird bug that can just add a species variable to a player, or even totally replace the existing one. Grian has to occasionally get the cod variable removed. One time Joel went to bed as an ogre and woke up as a tanuki. Doc knows how to trigger this bug, but he's not telling the devs. It's funny, it let him become a goat, and if they wanted his help in bugfixing, they shouldn't have taken his arm.
The times Grian's cod variable shows up seem to be weirdly correlated with the times he annoys Doc... what a strange glitch.

Etho's coat a cooling ice coat, full of blue ice. Thats how he wears such a puffy coat in hot biomes.
And in colder biomes... he still has the ice coat. Hey, he likes being chilly! He'll only take it off when the temperature is already below freezing.

Etho wears a mask for many reasons, but the biggest one is the most mundane: horrible seasonal allergies.
If he didn't wear a mask, he wouldn't be able to get anywhere near Bdubs' moss cloak, he wouldn't be able to go through a lush cave without an entire box of kleenex, and forget about going to admire Scar's custom trees! Wearing a mask is better than constantly popping antihistamines.
Even his own base isn't safe... but he loves decorating with greenery far too much.

Grian is a different bird hybrid every season. Between seasons, thanks to some minecraft magic, it changes and he sprouts new feathers to match the species. (For a couple months out of the year, his wings r bald lmao)
Season 6 - Seagull OR Hermit Thrush
Season 7 - Scarlet Macaw
Season 8 - Barn Owl
Season 9 - Peregrine Falcon
Season 10 - Common Kingfisher
At the end of each season, the old feathers all shed at once, leaving you with a very grumpy and bald Grian, and a huge pile of feathers. I wonder what he does with them.

Skizz, being half enderman, doesn't feel comfortable with eye contact and yet, somehow, he can hold a starring eye contest with Grian, a Watcher.
Fun fact! Endermen only attack when you break eye contact. For Skizz, his instincts don't quite trigger until the person looks away... and a Watcher never truly does.

Cleo has secretly been a puppet this whole time. Joe’s just following her lead!
Really, it should have been obvious from the stitches, but she supposes her green felt does look a little like zombie flesh.

Not sure if it's been done before but Welsknight is actually a unicorn hybrid. He can often be seen using his magic to make flowers bloom and can be called on to help heal his friends for minor injuries
Since he's always wearing a helmet, you might question how the horn fits in there. It doesn't. His horn is his sword, a sacred blade that heals his friends at a touch, yet burns opponents with radiant light. It's bound to him, and nobody else can wield it.

Grian keeps dolls of Mumbo and Scar in his pocket, voodoo doll style.
He takes very good care of those dolls. Scar and Mumbo aren't quite sure why they've been feeling so... warm and fuzzy recently.

joe eats sweaters. nummy num num nums for juppets!!
A Juppet, being a crafted construct of fabric, needs to consume craft materials instead of normal food. The yarn in sweaters tends to be particularly tasty, but you'll also see him crunching on a bowl of buttons or seasoning his meals with glitter.

HCHC Prompts
Our next prompt is Uncommon Headcanons! Got anything you love that doesn't match the usual fanon? Thinking about a Hermit that doesn't get very much attention? For this prompt, we're putting a spotlight on the ideas that don't get as many people cheering for them. Send in your weirdest and most niche headcanons.
As usual, feel free to send in more prompts if you have them, and happy headcanoning.

Note
Some hermits are from species that lack individual names, so when they were invited, their entire species got in.
It's easy enough to figure out if they are numerous, very social or different enough from other individuals, but some take a while to notice.
The grians made it their mission to be as obvious about it without getting caught.
