Hetamyu ‘21 Cast Announcement
We have finally gotten more information about this December’s new Hetamyu production during the livestream over on LINE Live yesterday! And I’m so excited to see that the old cast has returned! So here’s a quick rundown of everyone including the new (!!) cast member!
Italy: Nagae Ryoki
Japan: Ueda Keisuke
America: Isogai Ryuko
England: Hirose Daisuke
France: Juri
Russia: Yamaoki Yuki
China: Sugie Taishi
Austria: ROU
Spain: Yamada James Takeshi
Prussia: Takamoto Gaku
And introducing the brand new cast member...
Romano! His actor will be Higuchi Yuta and I’m extremely excited to see how he does in this role!
Now, for those that may be wondering, though I do have an ask related to this that I’ll be posting soon, there is still a Germany role that has been decided and the actor will once again be Ueda Yusuke! However, for this particular performance, he will not be in attendance to due being on a break right now. But since they mentioned that he is still taking on the Germany role, that means we can assume there will be more Hetamyu productions going into 2022!

hi! i just wanna ask if you're already done translating Hetalia Musical: In The New World?
Hi! I'm so sorry about the late response, I'm not even totally sure when this ask had been sent in, but know there are several with the same question.
Unfortunately, I haven't really been able to make much more progress due to having been swamped by school over the past few months. I have since finished and am set to receive my degree (!!), so I should be able to start up again soon. In the meantime, I'd been using my days off work to just decompress from everything, but I do still want to get everyone a translation of NW and WU!
#hetamyu#hetalia#hetalia musical#anon#ask#i did expect this to happen but i'm still super sorry about the inconsistent activity ><#schooling during covid is the worst ugh

I am so excited for the recently announced musical, and I'd like to travel to Japan to see it. Do you happen to know how difficult it is to get a ticket, from out of country? I tried looking up how the previous musicals sold their tickets (sale date, sites, etc) but there's so little information still available. (This is all assuming it's a similar process as it was in the past, I guess.) Thank you for all your hard work <3
All the ticket sites that will have Hetamyu when sales go up are, naturally, going to be in Japanese and additionally, depending on how the sites handle payments, might want a Japanese bank account/credit card. When I’ve shopped online for Japanese merch, normally I can get away with my American debit/credit card but I can’t guarantee that will pan out as easily (there have been a few rare times when my card(s) have been declined and I had been asked to use a bank transfer method via a (nonexistent) Japanese bank account).
Of course, that isn’t to say that it’ll be impossible to get a ticket and in order to do so, I would recommend looking for a proxy seller who lives in Japan and is able to handle buying the ticket for you. This is exactly the method I went for when I went to Japan in 2019 to watch a Toumyu production. When I went to Hetamyu back in 2015, I was already there for study abroad so my method to getting my ticket was much different from 2019. Either way, however, you will have to be aware of the very real chance you’ll have of getting tickets at scalped prices.
If you can get your ticket proxy seller to try for the ticket right when sales begin and they manage to get it, that’s awesome! Tickets will likely be at a base price of about ¥8,000 (roughly $80 USD), so naturally that’s what you’d ideally be spending. However, to use my Hetamyu and Toumyu tickets as an example, both shows sold out in like less than a minute and I was forced to go to resellers for the tickets. Hetamyu, I was able to get for a fairly reasonable $100, not that bad of a markup. Toumyu, however, got racked up to about $620 with that price being on the lower end of the spectrum for second hand tickets. For anyone’s sake in getting these tickets (myself included), I sincerely hope it doesn’t get that pricey for Hetamyu, but you’ll need to be aware of that possibility.
Jumping back slightly on the reseller topic, this is something that I was warned about when my proxy seller and I were discussing the Toumyu ticket: some productions check I.D. to ensure that the ticket holder is truly the same one as the name on the ticket stub. I personally had not run into this issue for either production and I would assume the new Hetamyu would be running along the same procedures as Hetamyu1 but I can’t guarantee that by any means. Thinking back to how Toumyu had us proceed into the auditorium, my guess is that an I.D. check might happen if you’re picking up the ticket via Will Call (in contrast, I already had my ticket since I’d met my proxy earlier in the week who had passed over my ticket then and only had to show the staff it before getting let in), but I’m not positive as those I had glimpsed getting their ticket from staff seemed to be going through the line too fast for a check like that. (I’m also half-Filipino and maaay have gotten a pass because they had assumed I was half-Japanese? Wouldn’t be the first time, but I’m not sure if that was the true reason.)
This is a bit of a winded answer, but I wanted to make sure to put in as much information as possible since there is a chance you could be spending a lot of money only to be ultimately not allowed in. From my experience, I am leaning more towards you being fine, but I want to make sure you know all sides of what could happen just to be safe.

I noticed that an anon also sent in an ask about this and to answer their comment, yes I most DEFINITELY saw that another musical was announced and I am SO EXCITED!! 🤩🥳 I may or may not have had to quiet myself while running an errand at a store earlier today XD
I’ll definitely been keeping an eye out on any more news from their Twitter and I’m really hoping the entire cast is able to reprise their roles, I’m sure they’d love to do so, they were all so emotional at the Final Live 😭

The official Hetalia Musical twitter account has announced that a new musical is slated to debut in December 2021 with performances in Tokyo and Osaka. Information on the title and casting have yet to be announced, but Yūsei Naruse and Kōtarō Yoshitani, who respectively wrote and directed the previous musicals, are slated to return.
PASH also published a new, pink logo and further production information for the musical alongside new promotional artwork and casting information for the upcoming Hetalia: World★Stars anime series.
As previously announced, the World☆Stars manga is slated to resume serialization on the Shonen Jump+ website in 2021, with an anime adaption scheduled for Spring. A new manga project by Himaruya, Prime Minister Club , will also debut in Jump SQ on January 4, 2021.

Couple questions! So the niconico page says only the first half of the show is free, and you have to be a premium member to see the whole show. Also! If I reserve a viewing do you think I'd be able to watch it a few hours later (like with the line live streaming), or would I have to watch it when it premieres?
Oh whoops! I missed that when I was doing my scan of the links (didn’t scroll down far enough 😅). In that same area, it says that you can watch programs you missed live only if you’re a premium member, so yes you would have to watch it live (which can be hard when it’s in the middle of the night in other timezones and whatnot).
If there is anyone that would like to become premium members in order to get the full experience, a monthly membership is ¥550 (about $5 USD or €4.5 EUR) and the possible payment methods for foreigners are credit card and PayPal. (There’s also a 90 day option with LINE pay for ¥1760 which should also be possible for foreigners.) I can’t remember for certain, but I believe I’ve had a membership in the past and didn’t have any issue with the payment going through.

More Streaming Opportunities!
Just in time for the announcement about the Hetalia World Stars anime and manga return, Hetamyu has scheduled live streamings of all of their productions! They will be weekly streams on NicoNico Live starting from this Friday, October 30 at 9pm Japan time (or 8pm Japan time for Final Live Tokyo and Osaka).
I tested out a reservation for Singin’ in the World and it’s free!
One odd catch, is that it seems like when I didn’t have my USA VPN on, I was region locked out of the video and yet when I did have my USA VPN on, I was able to see the waiting screen just fine with no error messages. I tested a few other countries with my VPN and it seems as if there’s no region restrictions on them either, but I can’t say for certain due to that strange occurrence with USA VPN on/off.
The schedule/links are as follows:
October 30, 2020, 9pm Japan Standard Time: Singin’ in the World November 6, 2020, 9pm Japan Standard Time: The Great World November 13, 2020, 9pm Japan Standard Time: in the new world November 20, 2020, 8pm Japan Standard Time: FINAL LIVE~A World in the Universe~ Tokyo November 27, 2020, 8pm Japan Standard Time: FINAL LIVE~A World in the Universe~ Osaka
Source: Hetamyu Official New Page
Also, as some extra help just in case NicoNico Live can’t change its site language to your own language, I have a video here stepping through the process of getting these shows reserved for you (you must have it reserved to watch it; only paying premium NicoNico members can enter a timeshift without reserving). Please excuse the first two attempts at showing the full reservation process, for some reason my internet or something wasn’t coopering and had skipped the confirmation dialogue box (although it still added GW/NW into my reserved timeshifts). The most complete reservation process begins with Final Live Tokyo at timestamp 1:49.

Hey first of all I really love your work and thank you in advance. I just see the third musical of Hetalia (Hetalia in the new world) and there a scene a really want to understand what’s happening. The one when Italy search gifs for Germany and Japan and Bib brother France help him. Italy search in a « box » and find England !!! Hahahaha please if you can translate this scene I will be for ever grateful.
While that scene has already been timed and translated, not all of the subtitles have been added into the file yet and so it’s not ready to be shared even as a short clip! However, I can just as easily give a quick summary of what went down.
Italy is, of course, trying to think of a good present for Germany and Japan. While France is helping him, he searches around and first finds a hair prop that’ll be used by America later.
France: ?!?! Scary! It looks like a jellyfish!?!
Italy: Ewewew!! *puts back* Oh, what about this? *pulls out England*
France: THAT’S EVEN SCARIER!!
Italy: It’s scary?
France: What IS that??? A doll?? Why do you have an England doll??
Italy: It’s a life-size doll of England.
France: Quick, put it away!
Italy: *starts to*
England: *starts to move and tries to climb out as Italy tries to force him back down*
France: KANDIWOXJJSBFNFIFKANF
Italy: That was scary!!
France: The hell was that!? That was like being in a haunted mansion!! Scary!
Aaaand that’s basically it! XD

hello! wondering if you’re still active. i just got myself ~In the new World~, and more hetalia musicals and i’ve been following your subtitle links for a while! do you happen to have worked on In the new world previously??
Hello! Yes, I’m alive here, there are no plans to drop the translation project! Things have just been busy for me for a number a reasons (I envy those of you that don’t live in the US), a more recent reason being that my state is currently on fire- 😓 I’m staying safe, of course, so no worries there, but the drive to work on NW has been very low as of late. I do want to try and get back into it though, so hopefully I’ll be back on it.
And well, this is as good a time as any to announce that I now have more help with the remaining Hetamyu productions! @hetalian-world-stars actually came to me a few months ago about helping to translate, I just hadn’t gotten around to saying anything about it lol- So a big thank you to them for joining the project!
In terms of translation/timing progress, NW is about 55% done! However, as has been the case, even with a second translator in the works now, progress still all depends on when we are free to work on it outside our normal schedules. As such, we can’t really give an estimate as to when we would be done with the subtitles. 🙇

America’s hanging out with Japan, how fun! Oh wait, this is actually America closely monitoring all of Japan’s movements?
And because my initial T/N didn’t make it into the final release, for those who don’t understand the significance of the teacup cracking, this is a bad omen within Japan and possibly in other Asian countries as well.
And as usual, please do not upload this video anywhere else online and instead link back to this original post.

Hello! I just wanted to ask, if you are still active after those year and if you are working on the subs. I hope it does not come out rude :/ I am just interested if I should be waiting or you found something different that you are working on now. Thank your for answering! Good job!
Oh, I’m absolutely still working on the subs, I’m not dropping this project until I have it all done. As I’ve stated before, however, not only am I the only one from the original team still working on it, I also have my irl schedule that makes it difficult to devote all my time to translating this. It’ll be a slow progress as a result, but I’m determined to release subs for all Hetamyu productions.

I just wanted to say, Thank you so much for posting about the Hetamyu streams and giving the link! They've been something that I looked forward to every morning (night over there but like 7am over here ammarite lol), and it's been a joy. You can bet that I'm going to buy a DVD now. Thank you for everything!
I’m so glad I could help provide entertainment! Even though I didn’t always stay for the whole time on the streams (they started at 4am for me LMAO), I absolutely loved reading all the comments that flashed by! There was so much solidarity and love from everyone watching, it was so much fun! ❤️❤️ I really hope they do similar things like this in the future (and maybe it’d help convince them to revive Hetamyu, so many dreams would come true if it did).

Hey, do you know where you can buy DVDs or legal downloads of the musicals? I really want to watch them with the english subs you've done (thank you!!) but I can't find them anywhere!
Hello! I received a similar ask a few months ago, which can be found here, but I’ll also restate it here. It is possible to have the DVDs internationally shipped from Amazon Japan and CD Japan, although when I checked the Amazon link just now, it seems as if they’re temporarily out of stock and would need to backorder more copies. There are other Japanese sites that would also have the DVDs on them, but those would require a proxy site to purchase them from as more often than not shipping on those sites is limited to Japan domestic (proxy example that I frequently use: FromJapan).
In terms of legal downloads or streams (these are typically only as temporary rentals btw), the only ones I am aware of are dmm.com and Amazon Japan’s Prime Video (can be found in same Amazon link provided above). DMM would be more difficult to deal with as it requires you to have a VPN that you can set to the Japan region as you wouldn’t be able to watch any of them otherwise. Amazon Japan’s Prime Video I haven’t used before (as I just have a regular account) and so I’m not sure if there would be any difficulties in getting the streams to work there. If there were any problems that would arise, I’d guess they would be either a requirement for a Japanese bank account/card, or a Japan-region only restriction.
I hope this helped you in your DVD endeavors!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all you've one over the years: your entries, the translations, everything - I've been in love with Hetalia for years and now finally, I'm able to see the musicals and I am beyond happy. I wish you good health and happiness, I just wanted to let you know you've made a Hetalia-loving anon very happy with your account.
Hello hello! ❤️ I’m so glad I can help fuel the fire!! I say it so many times, I’m probably a broken record at this point, but I’m always super hyped about sharing anything Hetamyu related with anyone and I’m so immensely glad that there’s finally an official way to share it with the Western fandom even if it’s temporary! These free live-streams came as such a wonderful surprise to me when the Hetamyu twitter account had been silent for about two years 😂😍 Here’s to hoping more similar opportunities arise in the future! In the meantime, I’ll definitely still be 6ft deep into this niche subfandom lmao

New Hetamyu News!
As a way to provide entertainment during this period of self-quarantine, company 4cu’s official LINE LIVE account will be hosting free livestreams of ALL Hetamyu productions as well as other select musicals and stage plays! Starting from tomorrow, April 26, they will be having five straight days of Hetamyu all the way until April 30. And after each showing, the lives will be in their archive for two (2) days afterwards for anyone who missed it to view.
The schedule is as follows and all times listed are according to Japan Standard Time (once you open the link to the 4cu LINE LIVE account, the times should automatically be set to your own timezone):
Sunday, April 26, starting from 8:00 pm (20:00): Hetalia ~Singin’ in the World~ Monday, April 27, starting from 8:00 pm (20:00): Hetalia ~The Great World~ Tuesday, April 28, starting from 8:00 pm (20:00): Hetalia ~in the new world~ Wednesday, April 29, starting from 8:00 pm (20:00): Hetalia ~A World in the Universe~ (Makuhari/Tokyo) Thursday, April 30, starting from 8:00 pm (20:00): Hetalia ~A World in the Universe~ (Osaka)
The two showings of WU are listed as two separate timeslots for a total of four timeslots dedicated to WU (presumably to separate them into first half and second half, cause these shows are LONG) so there are also times listed for 10:30 pm (22:30) on both the 29th and 30th.
As I have never used LINE LIVE before, I am not sure whether or not the app or website requires an account to watch these, but from my brief look around the site, it looks like there shouldn’t be too much of an issue in watching these shows. (I was able to play the archived Amnesia re:again Musical just fine on my computer and in the app, however the app is restricted to just the Japan iTunes store so unless you know how to skirt around that, I’d suggest sticking to the link I have provided down below.)

The Google Form has now been closed! I will be announcing the winner shortly!
Hetamyu CD Prize!
Alright, so this is certainly an interesting time of the year and during this interesting time of the year, this blog has surpassed 500 followers! For a while now, I’ve been thinking of how I can show my appreciation for everyone’s support and patience with how off and on my ability to work on Hetamyu has been. And so, this is what I’ve come up with!
I have ordered a copy of ‘always love’, Hetamyu’s official CD. Included in this are four disks containing all 70 tracks from the three musicals and the 2 opening and ending songs from the Final Live: A World in the Universe for a total of 72 tracks!

I will be giving away this CD along with some other extra surprise goodies of which I haven’t quite decided yet to one of you who fills out the Google Form I will have linked down below.
First off, though, there are some ground rules I’d like to quickly address.
1. You must be over eighteen (18+) to enter. 2. You are only allowed one (1) entry. 3. You must be comfortable with email correspondence as well as sending me shipping address information (which will remain confidential).
I don’t mind opening this up to both US domestic and international entrants, however it is important to note that there may be service restrictions or limitations depending on what country you’re in. If this comes up as an issue, we can discuss and work out how we want to tackle it over email.
And now for the deadline! The Google Form will be open from April 2, 2020 to April 23, 2020 at 12:00pm. After noon on the 23rd, I will then go on to pick and announce the winner here on this blog. The winner will have twenty-four (24) hours to respond to the PM I will send them, after which I will begin email correspondence. Should the picked winner not respond within that timeframe, I will select another winner under the same selection and announcement procedures.
And finally, here is the aforementioned Google Forms Link.
(I hope I have addressed everything. However, if I did miss something or something was unclear, please do send me an ask about it and I can address it to everyone on the blog.)
Good luck!
