something poignant to me about viktor receiving the "imperfection is beautiful" speech from the golden boy of piltover, the man who's perfection was always a thin facade, the person who's entire life was defined by 1) his mistakes and 2) his unwillingness to stop trying to make up for them

maybe ive been infected by the jayce paranoia but i genuinely can't tell who i believe in this situation. would it really be that easy? the thought that everything viktor is doing is totally fine and will have no negative repercussions in the future whatsoever? that he's healing people of shimmer with no drawbacks? that sky's spirit is genuinely just chilling there with him in the astral plane or whatever? it's too good to be true. it seems like those plants the hexcore responded to. make them grow beautiful and sprawling, before they crumple and wither and die

i know the rune they were charging up is linked to teleportation and i actually agree that the way that final "implosion" was animated signifies viktor and jayce probably just being zipped elsewhere in spacetime, but i actually prefer the concept of embracing death together. one of the main motivations for viktor's tampering with the hexcore in the first place was the fact that he was terrified to die by the hands of his disease without leaving behind a worthy legacy. so the thought of viktor being able to let go of his legacy, his life, and jayce taking his hand saying "you won't be alone. i'll be with you." is so..... like. they saved each other from dying alone and now they'll die together. their dream was always doomed to rot but they can choose how they want to end it. they can choose to be together when it happens. it just scratches a beautiful little itch in my brain

I can't believe they made Jayce have to crawl his way up to Piltover all on his own with a bad leg just like Viktor did and they made Viktor experience a life of loneliness without Jayce right there when he probably never thought Jayce would go first since he had his illness and was the one actively dying.

Really "take each other's woes" right there giving Jayce the understanding of why Viktor felt the way he felt about himself and Viktor understanding why Jayce broke his promise just to save his life.

yeaahhhh even though what happened with jayvik is currently making me lose my mind i don't think s2 quite earned its importance in my eyes. i would've been totally fine if they'd already moved on to a different location/storyline instead

yknow i was of the opinion that the final ep of s1 was kind of the perfect conclusion to a cyclical open-ended tragedy as is, so i’ll be interested to see whether s2 ‘earns’ its importance in my eyes

it is genuinely kind of crazy that jayce chose to stay and die with viktor instead of going back and living the rest of his life with mel tho

having full context for this scene is so devastating

the pain and sorrow in his eyes, because it was never just about rage or pain or justice, it was about love, too. he can't break a promise to viktor a second time, can't fail him like that again. even if hurting viktor feels like hurting a part of him too
