there was a meta i once read on tumblr about hamlet - that he could have ended everything neatly if he'd killed his uncle while he prayed, but he was afraid the man may go to heaven - that moment, where he let his anger consume him, doomed him. it became not about justice, but about vengeance, it became about *hamlet's* own feelings - not about getting justice for his father's death
