cw : christianity, abrahamic beliefs, general anxiety and more.
lately ive been feeling really conflicted. really guilty almost. before i delved into hellenismos, i was a jesus focused omnist. that changed when i began to feel distanced and almost abanonded by him, and god. i felt really hurt, really forlorn. i latched to the thing that made me feel more involved and gave me an outlet. and now, in a clearer mind, i feel deeply hurt by myself and the fact that by one instance i gave up on a deity who’s whole existence was to love and teach.
i find myself now at a crossroads, unable to understand if i can revere the greek pantheon and still have a place in my heart and practice for jesus.
this is a lot of rambling and so on, but it’s just causing me a lot of distress and i needed to vent.
Listen. Abandoning the idea of what a proper pagan is was the most rewarding experience. Your intuition is stronger than you think.
This isn't a science. You don't have to treat it like one. Go with your heart, go with your intuition. It will help you grow more than you've ever dreamed of.
tonight is one of those nights that im missing the ocean.
the way the tide lapped at my fingers when i searched for shells, the way the palm trees sounded as the wind blew, the grains of sand that found their way into my hair, the call of the sea birds as they dived for their dinner.
When you step into sunlight, you honor Apollo. When you admire the moon, you honor Artemis. When you admire cloud shapes, you honor Hera. When you smell petrichor, you honor Zeus. When you laugh at a joke, you honor Hermes. When your body twitches to dance at a particularly upbeat music, you honor Dinoysus. When you enjoy the first bite of your breakfast, you honor Demeter. When you choose your peace over any conflict, you honor Athena. When you warm yourself up by sheltering yourself in blanket, you honor Hestia. When you listen to Ocean sounds, you honor Poseidon. When you smell flowers, you honor Persephone. When you admire the coolness of first day of Autumn, you honor Hades. When you wear your favourite jewellery, you honor Hephaestus. When you smile, you honor Aphrodite. When you exercise, you honor Ares. When you light a torch in a dark room, you honor Hekate.
Your body is a shrine to Gods, your being an act of devotion for them. You, by yourself, are enough for them.
You don't need to have some kind of Divine Purpose™ for you to have value. You are worthy of a good future regardless of what any higher being or whatnot has in store for you. You matter simply by existing. There's nothing else you need to do to matter.
"Why should the gods care about us?"
Why is there a video of a water buffalo rescuing a turtle stuck on it's back. Things love each other, next question.
