Some character design inspired by The Amazing Digital Circus.

Back in the day, my local dollar store always had tiny vending machines with toys in them, and my favorites were the Bok Choy Boys:

They came in little UFO-like capsules, so I used to pretend they were ninjas from outer space.

My character has a flying saucer (summoned via the radio antenna on his head) and a heart on his chest that shows his energy level.

It was fun doing a ‘character sheet’ of expressions, too. Despite not having a mouth, he can say a lot.

vaguely animal crossing inspired s19 TM contestants as animals

explanation for each contestants animal in order: Stevie - mouse: she sniffed out the cheese in extraordinary time (though it was somewhat overshadowed...) and when she put her hair into buns they looked a bit like mouse ears

Jason - raccoon: he's a mischievous guy with a violent streak, but also clever and quick

Mat - deer: in ep 4 when he runs away from Fatiha, Jason says he was like a "fawn that had been scared"

and then for Fatiha and Rosie, I just thought it'd suit them :)

Bell Tower

Recently I decided to try making foldable fans with my artwork and I actually had to create some designs specifically to fit the template.

Ho-Oh is maybe the most perfect subject for a Japanese style inspired work. It really just feels so mythical and that very first shot in the anime of Ho-Oh flying in the sky is so iconic.

Painted by hand in inks.
