~Wanda's Cottage Core~ Wanda retreats to the cottage every so often to get away from her suffocating life. She loves to have a small picnic to herself in the grass, a basket of fruit and sandwiches nearby. A book in hand. She picks herbs and hangs them in her kitchen. She studies more here without prying eyes. Ebony, Agatha's cat, loves to visit her. Sometimes she bullies her.

~Castle Garden Core~

Wanda loves strolling through the gardens. A refresher. The cooling breeze and the chirping of the birds help distract her from the stress and pressure of her life.

Wanda sits in the comfort of the seat by the window, a neat little nook. She's in the library under the guise of catching up on the classics, perhaps books containing the history of magic. Is this what she's doing? Of course not.

The window she's chosen specifically has the perfect view of the training ground for the knights and guards. It's important for them to keep their stamina and strength up, so at least once or twice a day they head out to the grounds to train.

Her eyes are trained on one knight in particular.

Knight Williams.

He's shirtless, wearing only tight fitting trousers, which leaves nothing to the imagination. Her eyes scour every inch of his body. The lines in his taut muscles. How they contract and ripple with every jerk and dash of his body. Sweat coats the creamy flesh, gleaming beneath the burning sun. His black hair is sticking to his forehead, his fingers repeatedly combing the damp strands back.

His expression is set focused, serious, brows furrowed, nose scrunched and lips curled back to show the whites of his teeth. His red eyes made of pure steel glaring at his opponents, grabbing one by the arm and flipping him over his back.

Wanda scoots closer to the window, her face practically glued to the glass. She forces herself not to drool from the sight of his large, meaty back, the muscles in it constricting and powerful.

At this time of day, Wanda loves to say she's going to the library to read or catch up on studies, but what she really loves to do is watch Simon work out.

Wanda Lehnsherr. Princess Wanda. Future Queen of Genosha.

Wanda is kind. Empathetic. She yearns. She's talented and she has chaos magic. She's unsure to be herself or the perfect princess. A big, loving heart.

Wanda has the weight of the world on her shoulders. Carried tons of responsibility and she's tired. She's stressed. Ever since she was little, she recalls her father telling her she will be queen one day. The kingdom of Genosha rests in her hands and she mustn't mess it. She needs to be perfect. To play a role made for her to morph into.

Yet she longs for a different life.

To be herself.

She has a twin brother, Pietro, and a younger sister, Lorna. Pietro was sent down to Atlantis under the guise of trade negotiations and keep peace with the kings, but in reality, their father sent him away because he was annoyed with him. The two constantly butt heads. Lorna is basically forgotten by their father, and she's free to do what she wants. She's not taken seriously.

Wanda? All eyes are on her. Someone is constantly breathing down her neck and she's never alone. She needs the room to breath and she gets that from her private cottage in the gardens. At least there, she can be herself. Her real self.

Simon enters her life and she can't help but fall in love. At first, it's a fickle feeling. She didn't know if she loved him or not. But they shared dozen of moments and she ended up falling in love. Her love grew bigger than her heart. For once in her life, she knew what she wanted.

She wanted him.

Simon Williams. Knight Williams. The Knight with a Heart of Gold.

Simon Williams is a humble, honest man. He's insecure and unsure of himself. He's self-loathing. Had a brother named Eric. He joined the academy and became a knight in honor of his brother. Their father was an alcoholic and abusive, and Simon cut contact with him when he joined the academy.

He sees himself as a monster, because he accidentally killed his brother when he tried killing their father. He didn't want him to go to jail. That's his baby brother. Eric had a sword and he was trying to wrestle it out of his hands, but the fight ended up with his throat slit and Simon holding him in his arms, sobbing.

Though he didn't mean to, because of this, he sees the worst in himself. His brother's blood is on his hands and he can't scrub them off. Eric wanted to join the academy to become a knight, so in his honor, he joined and became a knight. He graduated top of his class. Handpicked by King Magnus to be Wanda's knight.

Simon ends up falling in love with Wanda, but he's scared of pursuing her. Because she's this ethereal being and he sees himself as nothing. Plus, he's a knight and she's a princess. He grew up in poverty and she grew up wealthy.

He didn't believe they could be together, but against all odds, they do. And Wanda helps him see he isn't a monster.

He's just a man.

A kind, loving man who should learn to forgive himself.

Simon stands in the bathroom, hands gripping the side of the porcelain sink. He stares down at the drain, body thrumming, trying to push his feelings down. Deep, deep down to where he can never feel them again.

Except he sees her dazzling smile every time his his fall shut. Hears her sweet laughter echoing in his ears. Her gorgeous, curly silky hair bouncing with every step. The wind wafting through her and sending her scent straight to his nose. Jasmine and lavender, from the incense she burns when she meditates. Her skin is soft too, from her lotions and oils.

"I can't," Simon chokes, shaking his head. His fingers grip the sink harder and harder, his knuckles turning white. He forces his head up to stare himself in the mirror, and he's sweating. "I can't love her."

Visible pain is laced in his words. He's trembling, tears threatening to spill.

"She's one of the most gracious people I've ever met. Empathetic and heavenly a-and..." He thinks of how she looks at him. Her features softening at the sight of him. Green eyes sparkling. Lips curled into a smile. It's like she sees someone he doesn't see. That he himself won't let himself see.

"God, why did she have to be so perfect?" Simon groaned, dropping to his knees.

Falling in love and not being able to do anything about it out of fear of ruining things.

That is the anguish of being in love.

Nothing compares to the beauty of you, darling, as I've came to realize the jealousy of the sun; she's jealous of your glow that radiates whenever your soft, scarlet lips curl into a heart-stopping smile.

I didn't believe you were real until I held you in my arms. Warm and beating, lovely green eyes peering into mine, and I swore I lost my breath.

My heart found it's way into your palm, and you've treated it with such care. Holding it close to your own. My heart, my love, you carry it with such pride tears spring to my eyes.

Please, don't even let go of my heart, as it's grown attached and refuses to depart. I find that I'm unable to let go. You're the one for me, and I swear on the moon and stars, to whoever is in the sky listening, that you'll never go unloved.

Wherever Wanda goes, not too far behind her Knight Williams follows. A stroll through the castle gardens, alongside the ponds of koi fish and lily pads-with the occasional leaping frog- or as she hurries through the massive palace to make it to her next magic session with Agatha.

He's standing against the wall as she practices speaking in front of a crowd, standing in front of her father’s throne while bellowing out into the empty room. King Magnus giving her feedback or lecturing her for being a young woman and still not being able to soothe her nerves.

Knight Williams is silent, mostly. The job of being the princess's Knight is a job he takes seriously. Red eyes darting around whatever space they occupy, strategic and planning escape routes in case they needed to escape. Expression stony.

Wanda wishes he'd converse with her. Whether the conversation lasts an hour or five minutes, no matter, as long as his attention is on her, it's all she wants.

But what she doesn't know is of course his attention is on her, and not because it's his duty to protect her.

Knight Williams notes her airy laughter during her tea time with Agatha. His back is towards them, scanning the gardens, but he hears her melodic laughter.

The sun causes her olive brown skin to shine, almost as if she's a goddess in a painting.

The wind will brush through her hair and he'll catch the scent of her silky brown hair- roses and honey.

Knight Williams is one of the only people who's truly around her 24/7, and he's come to know every single part of her being.

With her back facing him, he's staring at her with a longing.

A longing to make her his.

Wanda holds the rose delicately against her chest, eyes roaming over the inked words, warmth flooding through her body. Her red lips curl into a loving smile, her heart beating faster than anyone could imagine.

She presses a gentle kiss to the page before hiding it within her mattress, going to bed with a heart full of love and thoughts filled with him.
