Writeblr Intro |~| OC List & Asks
Hi hello and welcome to my lil' corner of Tumblr! Call me Noct, I'll be your host for better and for worse. Beware the AuDHD because it's everywhere.
This blog is a side-blog for @tales-from-nocturnaliss and follows nigh exclusively the creatures of all Deaths, whether natural or artificial - whether of divine descent or necromancy. I have a big thing for death, so if it's one your obsessions too, you've come knocking at the right blog.
⚠️ About My Writing ⚠️
Please note that I write Dark Fantasy, which essentially means I write really dark stuff without batting an eye. I have no taboos (but I do have dislikes), but I also have only a very basic brain filter, which means that I cannot tag my posts appropriately beyond 'dark fantasy' (and NSFW for those rare cases).
As this blog is about death, I'll assume you know what you're getting into if you read any further/epxlore the blog :3
🌘 My World 🌒
🔵 Tales from Aeyuu 🔵- my main flame, my very own Dark Fantasy world I've been building since 2011. The main themes are Death and Beauty, black and blue, a place of violence and blood that also yields plenty of love and hope as its people strive not merely to survive, but to live.

👋 Tagging You 👊
To offer some support on Patreon or on Ko-fi (I have one-off donations and feedback comms on the latter <<) if you like what I do and want to gift an old stray some love and support. In the meantime, I shall write on for love, pleasure, and all the lickable traumas! 🤟

ART ALERT.
I swear I art so little nowadays. That one' is even the last time I did something 's the latest in my stylized style.
But. Still. Love it so much omg.
Having had a close friend in my home for a too short week, and watching how her brain would disconnect her into Drawing Mode at some point in the day, and almost every day, it inspired me to try and start doing the same. Because, frankly: I miss creativity. But, usually, my brain is always so tired... and I came to realize, as I made some changes, that it gets tired from me repressing the creative urges.
So, I uninstalled two our of four mobile games I had to keep but one MMO where we have a fantastic guild of people, and one solo merge game I adore, and now whenever my brain goes 'I'm bored want more games', I try to redirect it towards doing something artistic instead. Rewiring my brain, if you will, to equate 'boredom' to 'opportunity to create'. Because automatism works best for me rather than routine, I'm an explorative mind, so I need new things to dig my teeth into very often. Can't fully explain how it works, but AuDHD is at this point my sole explanation.
Anyway. I decided to start this off my drawing my lil' mascot, Ine, who really is sweeter than how she looks here 😂 she's a creature who loves love, sometimes a little too much.
I hope to scan her in eventually and clean the lines, but for now: I drew something new. And already have another portrait very roughly sketched, and ideas for a few more. :3

Snippet: Awakening
I'm yet again reaching a point in my life where I'm rethinking everything I've been doing up to now, so please enoy a lil' snippet for something I started today because why not. I cannot hold myself to a schedule.
(For the lil' story: Sokyte is an old roleplay character from like 20 years ago whose background story I overhauled when I moved from rp to personal world. And the overhaul never felt right. So, I'm re-overhauling and thoroughly enjoying his return in my head)
---
The flicker of light roused Sokyte from darkness. He perceived it briefly, a fleeting burn between sealed eyelids that beseeched him to hear; a scalding sun whose singular ray shone but for him. He felt this way, and could not fathom why. No memories resided in his mind, no clues regarding what he had been doing before…
… before waking up? No, in truth, he did not feel awake. He did not even feel alive – a thought that did not perturb him, but it was distressing nonetheless. Sokyte moved his fingers, but could not sense that his body had moved. In fact, he could not feel his body at all.
He tried to speak, but not a singe word left his lips – which, as with his body, he could not sense. He could not even tell whether he was breathing at all.

Haaaaaahhhhh friends I really Really need to finish this one eventually please someone prod me prod me HARD because denumbra!Sokyte is just my favourite Good Bad Guy ever. He's Bad because no control over his power nor will to control anthing, as it all feels natural to him now. He's Good because he would genuinely help people out if their plight somehow Touches him. Which. I pray will happen eventually.
Resurecting him best decision EVER.

Snippet: Facets of fear
Every now and again, inspiration strikes in ways that I can't understand nor fight off.
It's been a while since Within temptation's album Bleed Out came out, and I have found quite a few character songs in there because of course I did. One of these songs somehow made me think of a character I hadn't thought about in ages, whose life story I had drastically altered about a decade ago. And never did that side of the world feel quite right.
So, inspired by growing obsession, I decided to re-change things until they felt right. Leading to a couple of new stories :3
---
As always when he observed the solemn silence of the church, Sokyte smiled. So many years had passed since he had succeeded the old priest, Father Leros. So many years spent preaching to a community who cared more about gossip than about faith. Few still seemed to care about Alliandra the Magnificent, a divinity said to have protected the village of Hahel when, ages ago, it had come under threat of destruction. As he came to stand before Her statue, a beautifully intricate sculpture carved from the simplest of rock, Sokyte could almost understand the villagers. What manner of divinity would lose Her eternal life to the common threat of bandits, as was often believed Alliandra had succumbed to? But then, did it truly matter whether Alliandra had existed at all – still existed at all – when the message she conveyed was the true expression of divine engagement?
A message so simple, yet so wise: be kind, be brave in the face of adversity, and never surrender to fear.

Though technically this entire story here is about Devon and Sorasiehn and a follow-up to Love Me Hurt Me, I'm popping it on this blog because 1. Zool 2. Necrolore.
I recall having needed a deus ex machina to save Sorasiehn, and he was my first and only Last Resort. I subverted him by dangling Sorasiehn in front of his nose and all she represents, which Zool could not let die. Ehehehehe.
Anyway: I enjoy his pov. The way he perceives the world... and the way he beats himself up here, in a subtle way, about not handling the Necrolore sooner. Arrogance is Zool's downfall. Blind certainty that Death is absolute, as he is. Yet he failed to perceive the shift of power until it was already too late.
Snippet: Hurt
As per the usual, a single vignette turned into a long story sprawling a few different PoVs...
... but this time, I got to visit one of my fave characters in the world without him merely glaring at me and refusing to let me near him because he's just that kind of asocial partypooper.
More seriously, writing Death incarnate is a rare treat for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring him and his encyclopedic mind just a little more :3
---
There had always been something about the swamplands of Korinda that made Zool's makeshift skin crawl. A sensation. A vibration. Something, nameless and insubstantial, yet perceived all the same.
Long before the rise of the Necrolore, he had already known. Yet he had done nothing. Seen nothing. Not until one day he'd come to sever souls and found them steeped so deep in this perversion of death that he had struggled to sever them free.
Times had not changed, albeit the Necrolore had. Where once it had been but a whistling silence, now, in this area of the world, it possessed a will of its own.

One day I will expand on Sokyte and Ayleen beyond the very real fact I had killed him off years ago because rp/sour friendship/needed change etc, only to never manage to quite fit the alterations into Aeyuu proper and resurecting the man like last year back to his original background story and my life clicked when I did that.
Sokyte and Ayleen are peak romance and tragedy. I love them. So much. And I love who Sokyte becomes after A Whole Bunch Of Events, even if said events ruin his life.
Once upon a time, in the rp, he was demon of fear. Now, he's about the most powerful denumbra right after Zool himself, more Death than actual original denumbra. Courtesy of his broken heart dying.
Last Line Tag Game
I was tagged by @hallwriteblr (whose post you can read here! Very delicious dynamics :3)
As always, feel free to tag yourself from here if you want to join in! If you take the tag from here, tag me in and I'll comment on your writing :3
Rules: post the last line or snippet from your chosen WIP. it can be as long as you like.
She was fascinating. How pale her skin, how dark her eyes and hair… how peculiar and adorable her ringed horns, that somehow suited her so well. And yet, something about her frightened him. Something nigh imperceptible, living and breathing deep inside the blackness of those eyes.
Lan startled out of his own reverie, his fingers heartbeats away from touching her horns. He quickly reeled in his hand, flashing her a smile.
“Forgive me,” he said. “I must have been more intrigued than I thought.”
But she seemed not bothered in the least. To his surprise, she seemed even pleased, for no longer did she shed tears (tears like liquid night, bleeding into her skin—No. He must be hallucinating), and her dark eyes had lit up with a sort of deeper sentience. The Ilvin-like girl settled on her knees and, without hesitation, reached out her hand until her index finger pressed against the corner of his lips. Pressing it up, into a half-smile.
Lan stared down at her. Stared at the light glistening in her black eyes; at the hint of delight twitching along her own lips. His heart swelled with warmth. A breath later, he burst out into laughter.

Hohhh I'd forgotten I'd snipped this story.
I could say SO MUCH about Zool. For now, just know he is essentially Death and that I never finished that story. ;.;
(someone prod me please)
Despite a lack of sleep, or perhaps *because* of it, I wrote a couple of totally unrelated vignettes that tasted like delicious goodness.
This is from the second one. Haven't written this guy in ages.
---
For as long as he had existed, Zool had known.
He had perceived, never fully certain of what, exactly, he perceived.
It had been but a disturbance at first, like a grain of sand found lying in a forest.
Then it had grown, over time – over the endless flow of generations passed, here, and yet to come.
It had grown, until he no longer perceived it as an it, nor as a simple grain of sand lost to the ages.
It was… something else.
A voice. A sonority akin to a voice, speaking in chimes and in echoes.
He almost wanted to call it a she.
A ridiculous impression.
(full story available sometime in the future :3)
