It's be a while since my last post. I've been waiting to find something worth sharing, like this :). This guy has been working on scanning his home and making a holographic/VR method of viewing each room in his home. It's still rough but it works. It's worth checking out in my opinion.

If anyone is curious if their computer can run the new affordable mixed reality headsets on the market you should download this app from the Microsoft store. Its a specs check app and will let you know if you computer can run the headsets.

Magic Window> This a really cool decorative app that I’ve been expecting for a while. It’s like opening up a whole new world in your home. I could see these becoming explore-able worlds your could have in your home in the future.

Hololens Mixed Reality Cooperative Experience. This a simple soccer game with holograms but it still looks like a bit of fun =). I’m really curious as to how holograms could be integrated with other sports or how other sports could be created with holograms?

The Acer headset seems pretty interesting. It uses mixed reality technology but it has more of a virtual reality feel. The mirror screen he does at the end is actually pretty cool! I'll wait on buying one because the controllers aren't out yet and I'm not sure if my laptop could run this.

Personally I wouldn't buy wine in a tequila bottle but I do like the ad. Advertising with holograms is going to give advertisers a more dynamic and detailed way to show off their products to customers. HOWEVER! This could also pave way to a more cancerous type of advertising. One were all too familiar with: Pop up ads. Lord help us all when we start seeing holographic pop up ads.

This is a new mixed reality device. They said the holograms were compelling and felt good. They don’t show any footage of what the holograms look like though but they do talk about how the technology is different and better than other devices.

Creating Animations in Tvori [Mixed Reality] This may be a VR program but it’s still relevant! An animating program like this could be a adapted to a future holographic device. This could make animated shows easier to produce.
