tw: anxiety, abusive family and mention of weed.

“ You ready sweetheart?” Eddie asked as he shifted his car into gear. You nod to him and simply respond to with “ yep” and you are on your way to Eddie’s house the boy you’ve had a crush on forever. Let’s just hope Jason doesn’t find out about this.

With your anxiety going through the roof you took a deep breath without making it too noticeable. With the the beat-up van not having a radio, the silence was so loud. The only thing that could be heard was yours and Eddie’s breathing. This was completely unlike you, not only gaining the confidence to talk to Eddie; but also agree to go to a DnD match. Something had taken over you, and you didn’t have an issue with it.

You could smell the mix of weed and cigarette smoke was heavily present in the van, which were two smells you weren’t too familiar with due to your family and your lifestyle. You looked around the rusted bus and noticed how Eddie had decorated it to match his personality. There were pins and cut-outs from magazines littering the walls of the van, giving it character. 

While you were were deep in your own thoughts Eddie wasn’t too focused on the road in front of him, his was more focused on the beauty that was sitting in his passenger seat. His soft, but rigged voice brought you back into reality suddenly. 

“ What’s going on in that pretty little head of yours y/n? Are you okay” Eddie asked with his voice laced with worry and concern. 

There was so much you were thinking about, but you couldn’t express that to him; this would only make Eddie like you less so you simply put on a soft smile and udder out “ Oh nothing, it’s just my brother you know I’m hoping he wins this game tonight. “

In reality thought; you could care less about the stupid basketball game. It was you actions that you were worried by, what will Jason do when he doesn’t see you in the stands tonight sitting closely to Chrissy like always? Would he yell at you for not being there? Or would he not even notice? Plus you’re thinking about what if this doesn’t go well with Eddie and he thinks that yore horrible at DnD and doesn’t even want you to come to the practice tonight? As these thoughts drowned your mind. Eddie noticed. He was very observant, even as a child he would notice the different emotions of people and it caused him often to get more hurt in the long run. 

“ Sweetheart…I’m not stupid something’s going on with you, it’s okay you can tell me I won’t judge you.” Eddie said, followed by a sigh. 

You knew he could tell something wasn’t right, you knew you should be honest; and you wanted more than just a friendship with Eddie, you knew you have to tell him about your anxiety and his bad it got sometimes. You let out a long sigh and you noticed that the car had stopped and you were at what you assumed was Eddie’s trailer. You looked down at your freshly cleaned shoes and looked at Eddie with your heart in your hands. 

“ If I’m being 100% with you Eddie, this is completely unlike me, and while I’m glad I’m with you right now; I’m also thinking about the possible outcomes that could come out of this like what if my brother finds out about this and decides to hurt you or what if he doesn’t see me in the stands tonight and freaks out on me when he gets home, o-or what if you end up hating me and my personality once we hang out before practice tonight. I just have so many thoughts all the time and  it it’s very stressful. Sometimes I break down because of all the stress.” You let out, followed by a shaky, long breath. 

Eddie could see the pain that Jason had caused that had created this fear and anxiety in your head, and he hated it. He could see the tears forming in your eyes as you stopped speaking and had to collect your thoughts. 

“ Oh y/n, I could never not like you, before I even met you I was drawn to you in a way you could never imagine, it breaks my heart to see you like this. You are so sweet, and pure. Jason will never lay a hand on you again, I promise with my whole heart. I will help you though this y/n I promise. “ Eddie said, now also having tears form in his eyes. Eddie unbuckles his seat belt and undoes yours and wraps his arms around you, surrounding you in a soft-slightly rigged hug. He knew that’s all he could offer in the moment no amount of words that could have been spoken could amount to the feeling of feeling loved, which is something you so deeply needed and longed for.

previously in part 1:  You tried to hide your excitement the best you could you knew the bell would be ringing soon so you had to wrap up the conversation anyways. “ see you tonight at five then Eddie” you smiled, and he offered you a smile back as then bell rang; and he turned back trying to hide his own smile, little did you know he had been wanting to talk you you for ages too.

after an boring prolonged school day, you waited for you brother outside of his car. As you were waiting you saw Eddie walking out with the some of the members of Hellfire, you wished you could just hang out with them. But due to your brother you couldn’t risk it in public for not your sake but for Eddie’s you hate to see what Jason would do to to him. You sigh as Jason walks up to the car with Chrissy. she offers you a smile as you smile back at her.

“ didn’t I tell you that I wasn’t taking you home today?” Jason said with a slight attitude.You had forgotten on friday’s before games you would have to walk home due to Jason and the rest of the basketball team would go out before the game with the cheerleaders. You didn’t want to make him mad so you said,

“ oh yeah sorry Jason good luck tonight” you turned your back and headed home.The walk was about 40 minutes because you lived on the outskirts of town.As you were walking you saw Eddie’s white van parked on the side of the road, you wondered why it was parked what could he be doing? maybe a drug deal? or maybe his van just broke down? You were pulled out of your thoughts when you heard someone call your name.

“ hey y/n!” you turned and looked towards to van and saw Eddie waving at you with a soft smile on his face. You offered him a smile back and waved at him. “ any reason you’re waking?” he asked as he leaned against the outside of the van.

“ on days when my brother has a game he makes me walk home so he can go out with the team before the game” you said looking at Eddie as he played with the rings that decorated his fingers and made his hands look so delicate.

He looked at you with a sad look, you could tell that upset him a little bit. “ why don’t you just come back to my place, since your coming to Hellfire you can just hang with me for a bit” he smiled, in reality Eddie was freaking out,he always had a crush on you.Jason would kill him if he was to find out about his crush on his little sister.Sure Eddie was in his third year of his senior year, but he wasn’t stupid. he had had a troubled life which caused him to simply forget about school. But he knew 86’ was his year.

“ Eddie are you sure?” you asked, of course you wanted to go over to his place but you didn’t want him to do it out of pitty.

“ y/n of course! plus we could get to know each other more and I can tell you what to expect from the boys tonight at Hellfire” Eddie said with a kind smile, while gesturing to his van.

You happily follow him to the other side of the van where he opens the passenger side door for you. You give him a soft smile as a thank you as you hop into his van. Eddie closes the door behind you leaving you to sigh of relief and collect myself for a moment. You safely secure your seatbelt and lean back into the seat. As soon as your buckled up Eddie starts the car and dies the same.

“ You ready sweetheart?” Eddie asked as he shifted his car into gear. You nod to him and simply respond to with “ yep” and you are on your way to Eddie’s house the boy you’ve had a crush on forever. Let’s just hope Jason doesn’t find out about this.

if anyone was to find out about your new found relationship you would simply be dead. You were old enough have a boyfriend of course, you were a junior in high school but that didn’t matter when your brother controlled every little aspect of your school life. Jason Carver, everyone knew him, you wished you didn’t but he was your older brother by just a year.Once Harrington left he become the king of Hawkins High, and man did you hate that. You preferred to stay to yourself and your small group of friends, while Jason had to be the center of attention. He controlled everything you did at school so he couldn’t be embarrassed by something you may have done.

You had expressed to Jason that you wanted to join the schools dnd club which was ran by Eddie “ The Freak” Munson; which didn’t end up well for you. You were lectured on how Eddie was a freak, and his club was a cult and Jason couldn’t have his sister being apart of that, because that would simply ruin his imagine and that’s all Jason cared about, oh and Chrissy. But she was so sweet and you knew she could do better.

Of course you knew the risks of going behind Jason’s back, but they didn’t faze you, simply because the real reason you wanted to join Hellfire was to just talk to Eddie. In your three years of high school he had never so a tad bit of interest towards you. This led you believe that this was because of Jason. You’ve had about three classes with Eddie and you admired him in every single one.

Eddie was so different from you, that’s why you were so perplexed about him. While everyone else had short hair, he had his long wavy brown hair you could only imagine running your fingers threw. The things that drew you to Eddie only made you want to join the club more and more and Jason wasn’t going to stop you this time.

You had a class with Eddie which was English Lit,you had decided to ask him about Hellfire, you don’t know how you gained the confidence to do so but you did. He happened to sit directly in front of you.

“ uh hey Eddie” you tapped his shoulder as you guessed he was working on a new campaign. This caused his him to jump slightly at the sudden touch.

“ oh hey y/n? that’s your name right? sorry you are just so quiet” he offered a soft smile. He wasn’t wrong you hardly talked since you had no classes with any of your friends.

you offer a gentle smile back, “ yep that’s me” you brush off slightly, “ so um I was wondering if I could maybe join Hellfire well not join but just check out I just recently started to get into dnd and we’ll i” you were suddenly cut off by Eddie chuckling slightly at your rambling.

“ I wouldn’t mind, it’s just the boys are always weird about new people checking us out because they think they are always up to no good” he sighed. you could tell that upset him, you could tell he wasn’t some crazy satanic freak.

“ that would be awesome!” you got a little to excited because you’ve waited for this moment for awhile. “ when is the next meeting?” you asked, you were ready even yo just watch a game; but not just the game but Eddie. You knew he was so passionate about dnd and you couldn’t wait to see him fully engaged in something he genuinely enjoyed.

“ we have one tonight actually, Sinclair won’t be there though because he has a basketball game or whatever” he rolled his eyes, you could tell he was pissed off about one of his members not being there for his campaign. “ your brother is Jason right? don’t you have to go to his game?” he asked.

You rolled your eyes, you knew Jason would end up making his way into the conversation since he seemed to control your life. “ yeah he’s my brother, but i’ll make up an excuse not to go” you said. “ he wouldn’t even miss me as long as Chrissy is there he’ll be fine” you smiled towards Eddie.

“ So tonight in room 56 at 5” he said his face seeming at tad bit brighter than before when he had mentioned Jason.
