Here we go, about a week behind. Connor suprised me with a new kitchen table fixture. I got started on hanging up some wall decor in the living room. I also put my Helleborus in the ground to get started on a part-shade bed!

Decisions, decisions..... to paint the thermofoil cabinets in the kitchen or to wait until we can afford new doors?!?! What will be more durable under paws and eventually little hands??

Studio Space
I have a home studio because I run my business, Old North Republic, from here. It was the same (awful) Super Beigey Beige that the rest of the house is. I am planning on doing a mural on one wall and my mom is going to come stay with me and help me with it. I decided I wanted the mountains to look at in here since I can no longer see them from my window having moved to the flatlands for my fiancé’s job.
I went with Ghost Ship, a Valspar color, in Valspar Signature. I found a video on YouTube with a mural tutorial and that’s the color they used for the base - it’s grey but has a tinge of very light blue, I probably wouldn’t have gone with it had it not been for that video, but I actually REALLY like it.
I still don’t feel organized or like I can get creative in this new studio, but it takes time. I got the shelf up with only a little trouble. I haven’t decided if I want to fool with putting another up, but I probably will. I want to put a mirrored window up over my computer/cricut desk to reflect the mural behind me while I sit here and build designs.
I also need to find a good way to safely store 2′ sheets of vinyl.
I have a running list on my phone of stuff to keep a look out for if I happen to leave the house, and even though I’ve crossed a lot off, it still feels like it grows faster than stuff is marked off.

-DINING ROOM-
So, we’re a young couple - no kids, but we have 4 dogs. Our “formal” dining room is where their crates are kept. We just don’t have a need for a formal dining room - we eat on the couch and there’s no one that’s coming over for dinner that has to sit in a specific room to do so.
I had some Passive color paint leftover (Sherwin Williams color, mixed into Valspar Signature) from the powder room and since it’s got the chair rail, I didn’t need a whole gallon to do this room. *win*
I have to go back and hit the white parts with a fresh coat of paint - whoever slabbed on all this beige wasn’t the most careful craftsman, but this was a rental before we bought it, so I get it - do the job just well enough, it is what it is.
Space Hound artwork is a collage I did for my fiancé, it looks just like Honey our redbone/plott hound mix.

-AFTER-
I chose a Sherwin Williams color and had it mixed into Valspar Signature paint - I really like the coverage I get with that and didn’t like the results I had when using SW paint before - but, I purchased their contractor-grade paint before, so that’s probably why. I chose the color Passive and have opted for Delta’s Venetian Bronze for the bath hardware. The TP holder and the towel ring are from 2 different collections - TP holder is Lahara and towel ring is Georgian.
Eventually, I’d like to swap out this floor tile - probably will be a project we do for resale, I'd like to do the tile that looks like weathered wood for this room and the kitchen/dining area, it’s just not in the budget right now. We still have to get some crown molding up and get the existing molding painted. I don’t plan on swapping out the tank lever unless I come across a good deal. I will hopefully swap out all the door knob hardware in this house (because it’s all polished brass and this isn’t the 90s anymore, so, no thanks).

-BEFORE-
The first project I wanted to tackle was the powder room. The whole house was painted in this beige and it just feels sort of dreary and blah. My preference is for fresh, clean tones.
Floors aren’t currently in the budget, and I still have to get a faucet. We took down a funky cheap over-the-toilet storage cabinet, and whoever put it up did a bit of a goof in the drywall - so I had to patch that.
Builder-grade TP holder and towel bar. Builder-grade Delta faucet. No crown molding.
