the college protesters are only doing it because there are no consequences. they take over public spaces because they know the universities just let them. they miss classes but not really because they attend online or the class is canceled. they are 100% certain they will be allowed to take any test or deadline they miss. they walk around with masks because they don't want to stand behind their actions in case whoever comes across a video/photo of them doesn't agree with what they are saying. they can't even deal with counter protests shouting regular parve trash talk at them. they don't understand what a protest is.

The Times of Israel published an interview with the head of the Families of Hostages group where he claims that Hamas offered to give back all of the hostages on 10/9 or 10/10 in exchange for Israel not invading, and you better believe the pro-Hamas folks are taking that as 100% true even though this is just something that guy heard, he wasn’t in any room where that offer would have been made. I mean, if I were Israeli PM and that offer was made I might seriously consider it, but I do understand why even a better PM than Netanyahu would turn it down (it would encourage further 10/7 attacks and would be politically infeasible to not try to destroy Hamas’ war capabilities) for reasons other than “Israelis are just bloodthirsty” (which is their reason for everything you guys do).

I'm sure there was an offer like that but the price was way way WAY steeper than just "don't invade". Personally if I were PM I'd agree to any deal under the condition that all hostages r returned at once (wouldnt be an issue with a good enough negotiator since israel practically always respected any deal made with those animals in the past), and just glass the ever living shit out of them after the hostages were returned. Golda was right it's better to be alive and hated than dead and pittied, and it's pretty clear that it rly doesn't matter what israel does or doesn't do, it will always be hated, so that's not really a meaningful variable in this equation.
