I’m trying to get through this latest episode of the rookie but gosh this subplot about the streamers is bogging it down bad! Like you can tell the writers are old and don’t know how streamer culture actually works or certain target demographics (where are the teenaged boys at? Why are all the fans 20 year olds and the only ones physically harassing the car women?). They also don’t seem to understand how gen z actually talks (seriously litty, saying ILYSM out loud, okay boomer?? What year are we in?!)

I finally started watching apothecary diaries! I love MaoMao so much. She’s such a little freak! We need more girls like her in media. And Jinshi is being added to the small list of male characters I actually like (and the even smaller list of men with long hair that I find attractive)

the thing is that childhood doesn't just end when you turn 18 or when you turn 21. it's going to end dozens of times over. your childhood pet will die. actors you loved in movies you watched as a kid will die. your grandparents will die, and then your parents will die. it's going to end dozens and dozens of times and all you can do is let it. all you can do is stand in the middle of the grocery store and stare at freezers full of microwave pizza because you've suddenly been seized by the memory of what it felt like to have a pizza party on the last day of school before summer break. which is another ending in and of itself

Okay I’m getting caught up on the rookie and I thought people online were exaggerating not liking Bailey but….yeah no she’s annoying me this season.

But on the positive side, I’m actually really enjoying the messy chenford stuff! I know a bunch of people on here specifically are criticizing the writing (and to an extent I agree, mostly pacing wise) but I really like how it’s digging into Tim’s issues and insecurities and how that messed up his relationship with Lucy.
