In book description:

As he passed by the mirror, he caught a glimpse of his reflection. When was the last time he properly looked at himself in the mirror? He leaned his hands on the countertop and just stared, lightly tracing his face. Underneath the harsh, bluish-white tones of the cheap, artificial lighting, his usual dirt-colored irises were now beady with any kind of life snuffed out of them. The lack of sunlight paled his warm cocoa skin. His cheeks were flatter, and his jawline was more pronounced. The scrubs he swore that used to fit him nicely before now hung looser, enough to hook a finger underneath the hems. He looked different. He was unfamiliar to the man that was staring back at him.

Family: In book 1, just Athena, his twin sister

Pets: Iris makes him a small robotic bird [that I haven’t named yet] with a bubbly personality with the ability to record and playback audio

Best friend: Isaac [Last Name]

Room description:

In his apartment I don’t think there’s anything to describe. He’s too busy working to decorate. At the rebel base he sleeps in a dormitory with other rebels but he has a chest to keep personal affects in.

Way of speaking: His voice is like medium in pitch. You can hear how muchy he cares in his voice. But still has a nervous anxiety to it as well.

Physical characteristics: Usually tense, ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice due to both military and ER training, usually has dark circles under his eyes but his expression is usually warm and inviting.

Items on hand: Before joining the rebels, mostly just his tablet. He doesn’t need keys or a wallet because of the chip implanted in his arm. After he carries a gun but never uses it, and some basic emergency supplies like a flashlight, some matches and a water bottle and a first aid kit

Hobbies: Not sure he really has any. Working in the medical field is his passion and he’s spent nearly every minute since getting out of basic doing exactly that

Relatioships: Overall he gets along fine with most people. He struggles at first coming to the rebel base but eventually grows close with them. I don’t really want to give away specific relationship dynamics other than that Caspian and Adrian are supposed to be a versdion of enemies to lovers. Oh and that at the time the book starts, Caspian hasn’t seen Athena is like, 5 years. Caspian initially harbors some resentment towardes her for abandoning him after their parents went missing.

Fears: Bro has crippling abandonment issues. Also, snakes.

Faults: Caspian is unbelievably selfless. He has always put taking care of others before himself

Good points: He is kind and patient, even with Adrian

An Update

Hey guys, I know I kind of disappeared. I finally had a little time to hop on here and explain.

Life has gotten really busy for me recently, and I just haven’t had the time to devote to up keeping a blog.

I’ve had a persistent pain problem that is finally getting addressed properly.

I’m in the process of moving out of my parents house, thank god. Obviously, that takes a lot of time and my new place doesn’t have internet, so I’ll probably dip out again until it gets set up.

To top it off, I’m in the process of job hunting. If I stay at my current job any longer, I will loose my mind (I’ve already lost it, but that’s beside the point). It’s not a very great work environment and it’s draining so much of my energy. Obviously, I’ve been running a little low on spoons 😅

That being said, I’m going to try to hop back on here. Posting is going to be very infrequent, if I post at all. At least for the time being. I’m not abandoning the blog or anything, I just have a lot going on at the moment. Feel free to keep tagging me in games (and sorry to everyone that’s tagged me, but I simply cannot go through all those tags. Just know I love you all and really appreciate it!!!) but for the most part, I’m just going to (hopefully) be interacting with your guys posts. I haven’t had a lot of free time to write and because of everything going on, I’ve got a little bit of a creative block haha

Would you give away secret information if tortured? Be honest.

No. Part of Mors training makes sure we won’t crack under torture. I have been tortured. Many times. I know I won’t break.

Who could you trust the most with a secret?

No one. The only one you can trust is yourself.

You have been caught somewhere you shouldn’t be! Quick, what is your excuse?

Depends on the situation. Without context, my first instinct is going to be to kill whoever caught me. No witnesses.

If you were forced to kill someone, or die yourself, would you do it? why?

Honestly, I’d probably die. I mean, context is kind of important here, but if I have to decide without it, I’d probably just die myself. As a healer, I try my hardest to save everyone, and I think everyone deserves a chance to live.

What's your favorite colour, and why?

Uh, I can’t really answer this one because I’m blind. I guess technically I have seen colors before I was blinded, but that’s been so long ago I don’t really remember. I think maybe yellow. I’ve heard it’s nice color. Yellow makes me think of warmth.

Would you rather: knowing how you die, or when? why?

That’s a tough one. I think maybe when I die. To me, it doesn’t really matter how I die, but knowing when, I can make sure I make the most of whatever time I have and when the time comes say my goodbyes properly.

I've actually been writing a little bit for Rune Storm (I am now accepting better title suggestions lol), so I figured I'd share some of that with you guys!

Atticus stood before her, coated in blood, sweat, and smelling like smoke. His usual neatly tailored hair was sticking up every which way, his clothes torn and wrinkled and distinctly cover in blood. He looked very much like someone had thrown him around a few times before dropping him wherever they pleased. It probably wasn’t too far off the real story. Gods knows what kind of stupid business he’d gotten into, or why he was even here.

She would have to request access to the facility’s network, security, and logs to have any real idea of what Hueland was doing there. It was a far higher grade than military personnel were often let into, let alone one who had changed dates with another general. That wasn’t supposed to be accepted. More concerning was the fact she couldn’t find a reason listed anywhere for the visit. The military didn’t list any and neither did the Mors side of things.  This needed to be addressed. Now. This kind of lax in protocol was unacceptable. And she had a twisting feeling Hueland had gotten ahold of some valuable information. Information that could crumble the Mors plans.

About You

When did you start writing?

Hmm, that shouldn't be a hard question and yet here we are. Honestly, I don't know. I have a really shitty memory, especially when it comes to my childhood. I think I might have been around ten when I first started?

Are the genres/themes you enjoy reading different from the ones you write?

No, I definitely like writing the same stuff I read. Fantasy and sci-fi is my jam! Throw in some massive world building, some angst and whump and you've got me hooked.

Is there an author (or just a fellow writer!) you want to emulate, or one to whom you’re often compared?

I definitely haven't been compared to anyone. I would like to emulate Brandon Sanderson in the sense of his massive world building and phenomenal magic systems.

Can you tell me a little about your writing space(s)? (Room, coffee shop, desk, etc.)

I don't really have a set space. I often write on the living room couch because it's the most comfortable. I do have a desk that I will occasionally write at, but it's pretty uncomfortable after a short while, and I mostly use it for other work instead.

What’s your most effective way to muster up some muse?

The car or the bathroom. I know it's sounds super strange, but driving without any music, or better yet riding with it, often gets my brain thinking. And wether I'm showering or just washing my face, a lot of my best ideas come to me in the bathroom.

Did the place(s) you grew up in influence the people and places you write about?

I really don't know, but I doubt it. Like I said, my memory is shitty. We had moved about five or six times by the time I graduated high school. It was all in the same city at least, but different parts of it. As for people, I was a hermit. I didn't have any friends or hardly ever talk to people my age.

Are there any recurring themes in your writing, and if so, do they surprise you at all?

Does whump count? On a more serious note, I haven't done what I call a deep edit in years. I think, just off the top of my head, trauma and abuse are pretty reoccurring, along with internal emotional issues like trust.

Your Characters

Would you please tell me about your current favorite character? (Current WIP, past WIP, never used, etc.)

That's a tough one! I love my babies! I think my current favorite would be 703. She's been around the longest and honestly, she'd helped me through some bad times and I'm not sure I would be here without her.

Which of your characters do you think you’d be friends with in real life?

As much as I love her, 703 and I would not get along. She's a little too trigger happy and I'm a little too non confrontational. I think Rage and I would hit it off pretty well though. Maybe Fres too if I could break through their barriers.

Which of your characters would you dislike the most if you met them?

I have said this before and I'll say it again, Master Gerd. That man is a straight up bastard and I would gladly choke the life out of him if ever given the chance. He just makes me so angry.

Tell me about the process of coming up with of one, all, or any of your characters.

It's pretty different for each one. Sometimes they start with a name, other times they don't. It is pretty consistent that I just start writing them into the story before coming up with all the details. If the character sticks around and starts to have a more predominant role, that's generally when I'll go into detail about their backstory and they get their own file in my doc. But this isn't always the case. Sometimes, I just already know all this information from the start and I can write it all down. 703 was like that. Sometimes things come up along the way slowly. But for the most part, I just start writing and everything else works out fine.

Do you notice any recurring themes/traits among your characters?

Trauma!! Gotta have the dark backstory haha! Most of my OCs have very unhappy and traumatic childhoods/young adult lives 😈. Protectiveness also comes up quite a lot along with being physically strong. I mean, most of my OCs are in a "cult" of some kind that generally goes around fighting things... okay maybe cult is a theme too now that I'm thinking about it. I've got the Mors (bad cult) Oraniz (morally gray cult) Ryuk's pack (wholesome cult) and mafia like organizations in Rune Storm (also bad/morally gray cults)... yeah I think that might be a theme.

How do you picture them? (As real people you imagined, as models/actors who exist in real life, as imaginary artwork, as artwork you made or commissioned, anime style, etc.)

Animation style. I've always wanted, especially when I was younger and life hadn't taught me anything yet, to have my work turned into an animated series. Even now, that little dream, that I realize is very unlikely, stays the same. I think you can do a lot more with animation than you can live action, and it's always how I've imagined my OCs. Albeit it is a little more "realistic" animation, like Dreamworks, Disney, those kinds of things.

Your Writing

What’s your reason for writing?

If I don't write down my OCs and world, I'm pretty sure I'll go mad. I love sharing my writing, but I write for myself first and foremost. And writing has gotten me through a lot of really hard times in my life. It's something I can always turn to and it helps me express and process things. I can't imagine my life without it. It's just a part of me.

Is there a specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating coming from your readers?

Honestly, just saying you enjoyed it is more than enough. I never thought I'd have anyone that would be interested in my writing enough to leave comments on it. Every time I get one on anything I post, it always makes me smile.

How do you want to be thought of by those who read your work? (For example: as a literary genius, or as a writer who “gets” the human condition; as a talented worldbuilder, as a role model, etc.)

I think I’d like to be seen as just a really good world builder and nice writer in general. I don’t really have any expectations 😂

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

Um world building maybe? I’m not really sure I’ve got any greatest strengths deal when it comes to writing. I don’t think I’m horrible, but I’m certainly not great or anything.

What have you been frequently told your greatest writing strength is by others?

Uh, no. This is the only place I’ve ever talked about my writing. Don’t exactly have any irl to discuss it with or anything I trust to read it. That would get me in a less than ideal situation pretty fast.

How do you feel about your own writing? (Answer in whatever way you interpret this question.)

I think it could use a lot of work if I ever want to publish it. I definitely enjoy doing it, but I don’t think it’s all that great.

If you were the last person on earth and knew your writing would never be read by another human, would you still write?

Yes. Honestly, I never thought anyone would be interested in my writing anyway. Plus, if I’m the last human, I need some form of entertainment haha

When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely what you enjoy? If it’s a mix of the two, which holds the most influence?

I’d like to say it’s pretty much for my enjoyment, but I’m sure there’s some influence of what other people might like too. I’m a chronic people pleaser unfortunately

365 Writing Challenge: Day 3-6

Sooo, yeah, I know I haven't been posting this, BUT I have actually written every day! Getting around to posting it... a lot harder than it should be haha

I might start posting this as a weekly update. Not sure if that would be easier with my life of chaos or not. Regardless, I'm still doing the challenge! It just might take me a while to post the updates

This isn't anything I plan to put into the finished EoWC, but I had to tell this from Rage's perspective to help me get 703's perspective on certain things right. I know, makes no sense. Anywho! Enjoy my insanity :D

Word Count: 257 (once again, this is only a small bit of what I wrote. Did a lot of plotting/brainstorming things)

"Nice of you to finally join us," Gerd grumbled. Rage raised an eyebrow. "You should be careful with how you speak to me Gerd. I'm the only one capable of cleaning up the mess you've created." Gerd's face flamed and furry filled his eyes. "You dare-" The GrandMaster raised their hand, silencing Gerd as they stepped forward. "Why exactly do you believe you are here?" "You've gotten yourselves in a mess with... 703." Rage fumbled not to say her name. They didn't need another reason to hurt her. "I told you not to take me from her and this is where it's gotten you." "How dare-" "Oh I dare," Rage snapped back at Gerd. "I warned you and none of you listened. You treat her like a machine and that is far from the truth. She is still a being, still mortal. You want her to be effective? Then you should have listened. I was with her for years and yet you still wouldn't listen to me. If you will not listen to my healing advice, why should I respect you?" Gerd stood, ready to fight, and if the GrandMaster hadn't stepped in, he was certain Gerd would have killed him. Though Rage would have certainly left his fair mark on the man. "He speaks the truth. We failed to listen and the consequences of those actions have caught up with us." Their back was completely turned on Gerd, giving Rage their full attention. "703 has been gravely injured. Her mission, though completed, has nearly killed her. Healer Asurr is unable to fix the damage. If you do not help, she will die."

For the q&a, how did Ronan end up with the nickname Rage?

Thanks so much for the ask!!! This is such a fun one and I'm so excited to ramble about it!!!

SO! A little background for those that don't know.

Ronan Airvix. Bit of a celebrity, well off family, predominant in the Mirralian government. After graduating basic school, he went on to advanced learning, specializing in healing and becoming a certified Healer. From there, he went on to join the Mirralian military as a field Healer. He's a great Healer and has very strong Dad Vibes™ the dude pretty much adopts anyone that is slightly sad, hurt, or is just walking by themselves. He's like a giant golden retriever, which throws people off when he introduces himself as Rage. But anyone that really knows him, understands exactly why the name suits him.

During his military days, he worked closely with a team for a couple years. They got assigned a mission, basically suicide, and they all knew it. Except for Airvix. Things got bad quick. They were stranded, without a ship, being hunted, and all of them badly injured.

They ended up cornered, and Airvix... he lost his shit. Let's just say none of those hunters bodies were ever recovered. Well, they might have found the odd finger or foot.

Airvix got his team out, all of them alive, and he chewed out every single one of his teammates for being so stupid and reckless and not looking after themselves, right after publicly and verbally annihilating the ones that had assigned the mission to his team.

He scared everyone shitless. And after that point, the people that knew him made sure to stay on his good side, least they end up getting another lecture. Or worse, ending up like those hunters. Not that anyone believed he'd actually do that, but they certainly took his threats a lot more seriously. He clearly had the skills to back them up.

His teammates started the running joke, whenever one of them planned on doing something dangerous/stupid. "Don't let Rage catch you or you'll wish you were dead."

It started out as an inside joke and only the people closest to him used it. But eventually, Airvix was reassigned to the Mors. Shortly after, his teammates were all killed in action. After that, he started introducing himself as Rage, as a way to remember them and later, to distance himself from the Airvix name.

I- “I just need to rest for a little while,” she said.

O- Only thirty more seconds.

L- “Look Ryuk, I know this isn’t ideal, but we’ve got no other choice,” Faralt said, not seeming the slightest bit sorry.

U- Unlike the previous time he cleaned her wound, this time, her whole body tensed up as she cried out.

M- "My understanding is the something similar happens with your bodies, helping you to morph safely.”

I- “It’s called getting in a fucking fight.

N- Now that he was thinking about it, he hardly knew her.

E- Energy burned through her body as it worked to fix the damage she’d done to it.

S- She didn’t want these ghosts to haunt her right now.

C-  Could he be any more insensitive?

E- “Emaeh what… what happened?”

N- Nothing was ever going to come close to that.

T- That was not a good sign.

A- And Master Gerd lectured her and gave her a punishment.
