hi! so I'm rereading honeymouthed and with all the drama that the first arc has between mark and hyuck + a good part of the robyn arc, i was wondering if as the story progresses we'll have more drama between them? they're dramatic ik but oh if i have to go through the nomin incident again i might pass out, especially bc i think their relationship is pretty solid right now and the main problem isn't between them but now is the world around them (?) i wonder what the islands will bring them omg

there's going to be another big drama before the end of this arc, i'm making their relationship so solid because they'll need it to withstand that :)

i just wanted to let you know how much "paint the town" means to me—despite the messy dynamics and the long haul— i absolutely loved the a-slice-in-life setting and the complexity of the characters (just the entirety of the story, basically). they were so real. it became my ultimate comfort fic and thinking about ptt mark and ptt donghyuck hurts so good bc they felt so real, like flesh and bones real that i wanted to melt into my screen and into the story to see everything that has transpired first hand. i'm a bit late to finding this gem but i'm glad my sleep deprived brain decided it needed more doses of mh content at 4 in the morning to function.

ps. i made my boyfriend read ptt and we are now both obsessed with it. he sent me a trailer of this movie produced by lin-manuel miranda called "aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe" 10 minutes ago and i Could Not Help but see ptt mark and hyuck written all over it. i hope you could give it a watch and perhaps tell me if you see them too 🥹

That's so cool, I've never read the book nor seen the movie but it's pretty famous as a lgbt coming of age story so I bought the ebook at some point but I never got to read it.

Also thank you and thank your boyfriend as well for the compliments ㅠㅠ paint this town was extremely difficult to write, it took more than a year, and what started as a somehow light project under the theme of coming back together took a slightly darker and melanchonic tune as the story proceeded, but i really like how it came out in the end and i'm always happy when people appreciate how raw it feels. they're more than okay. they're still trying to buy a house because the one they're in is rented (they didn't like it enough to commit) but the prices are so high and the house they've seen weren't pretty enough so they keep procrastinating. they went to visit dh's dad (and his mom's grave) last week and it was very awkward but the old man is trying. they also often go to visit mk's parents who dote on dh more than they dote on mk at this point. they want to get a dog but they won't do it until they've bought a house. mk is still working at the firm under jhny and dh has started casting for esports as a joke but he's quickly becoming a fixed guest/analyst. he almost never shows mk in his vlogs but the horde of teenage girls who ship them is endless and they get spotted on dates quite often, but the fans have learnt how to be respectful because they hate crowds.

thank you, things are looking better for me after so many months of not being well. let's hope this keeps up <3

what would mh dh's Spotify wrapped look like? i feel like mk's would be sappy love songs, melancholic music and gym playlists

mark would have a lot of white boy acoustic sappy love songs but also a lot of rap for his gym playlist so i think you're totally right.

i think both of them would have very eclectic and diverse playlists. i see mj and shinee for dh ofc ahahah a lot of kpop but also a lot of american pop, and i think rap too for him as well because he's shown many times that he enjoys many genres, his range is quite wide.

the meaning of my korean username is "glittering stars"

the chapter is not done but the extra is halfway done (but it's way longer than hm regular chapters so i hope you can forgive me for the time it's taking)

and i will update the extra first, then iotol or hm, the one i finish first according to my mood

do you think shipping discourse is a no-no even when it's done semi privately (like in an ask forum thing like a retro or cc) even when everyone knows it's playful? why do ppl get to police how fans interact with material that's fed to us through fanservice when it's just for laughs anyway?

i think shipping discourse belongs to fandom spaces. as long as you're not shouting it in the face of the idol themselves you should feel free to talk about it. shipping is a fan culture, and a big one too, and it belongs to fans. i know some people don't like it, and you can be a fan and not like shipping, but they can't impose their likes and dislikes on others who are freely using public fan spaces. what they can do is avoid public fan spaces, or curate their tlist and private fan spaces to surround themselves with people who don't engage in shipping. i don't think it's fair in any way to tell others to stop shipping, especially when it's such an emotional outlet and stress relief method for a lot of us.

you have a way of writing mk where he's really intimidating and important and sexy and i appreciate that in a sea of him being a squishball loser boy. it's very interesting to see the different takes ppl have in rpf

i actually think mark irl is immense. he has an incredible talent, his stage presence is unreal, and he's a boy who thinks. there's nothing sexier than a boy who thinks. and let's be real, if most of us were thrown into his life, moving to another country, having to learn the language, being subjected to insane and inhumane training times that most western raised boys would find unacceptable, away from their family, and then becoming the backbone of a group when he was still barely of age... i think no one deserves to be more important than mark and he deserves to be portrayed like that even though he has his goofball moments.
