bad times (it's very hot)(ac is broken) and my cats don't understand that cuddling = hot (zero thoughts head empty)(the greatest idiots of all time) but the only way to keep them downstairs (cooler)(somewhat tolerable) is to let them on my lap but it's hot (hot as hades)(sucks so bad) so we have several fans running (the only reason downstairs is tolerable)(somewhat) which means as I pet my cat (not optional) she sheds fur (so much) and it blows directly into my face (via fan) and I do not like this but they will overheat upstairs (I don't wanna go to kitty er)(neither do the cats) so we suffer every day (until ac is fixed)(dear god be fixed soon please)

I started crying today at the museum because they had reconstructed the shoes of Otzi the iceman.

Either he or someone he knew who cared about him made these shoes out of grass and bear skin and twine and he was wearing them when he died over five thousand years ago.

And a Czech researcher and his students did reconstructions of these shoes and wore them to the same place where he died to test them out and they were like yep! These shoes are really cozy and comfy and didn’t give us blisters while hiking!

Is that not just the coolest shit ever????

Just saw a post that reminded me that when i was in the botanical gardens today there was a new sign with a photo of a cat and so clearly i was like oho? botanical garden mascot cat?? (mascat even) and went to see what the sign said and the sign said . See this cat? This cat is here all the time. she WILL beg you for pets. do not listen to her she is a fucking liar she will bite bite kill you. we do not own her. we do not know who owns her. if you know please fucking tell us. which is funny enough as like a sign purely because you know some botanical garden employees found this out the hard way but particularly funny because i MET THIS CAT WEEKS AGO. in the botanical gardens. she was sunning on a bench and very politely asked me for pets and was very nice for like ten minutes and then she bit me (not very hard, didn't break skin or anything) at which point i sternly told her well in that case i would not be petting her anymore and left and she followed me OUT of the gardens DOWN the street for a good bit, again shamelessly begging for pets. what an accomplished little criminal. neighborhood famous for lying and betrayal. god forbid women do anything

at least she's taking it better than Alfredo, who is very upset about everyone being in the basement. she settles down sometimes but often just meows in mild distress at me. I'm sorry girl but you have long fur, I need you to stay down here. there's nothing I can do to improve this situation, and I do not want an overheated cat
